I’ve been through a years-long dental odyssey, and I just want to finally get my implants and have some peace of mind regarding my teeth.

Hi all— I don’t have dental insurance outside of cleaning (unless medically necessary). I’m in IL and have medicaid. Nonsmoker. I’m an adult (29), and my teeth have been bothering me for a very long time. I still have many baby teeth. I never had dental care in my youth. I have two teeth growing above the others. One juts into the inside of my mouth and causes pain and bleeding sometimes. In the second picture, I have an adult tooth pushing out a baby tooth. It’s been hard to eat, it’s been wiggly for over a month. What are my options or best plans of action considering I can’t afford dental care out of pocket? What would be the care I need to get done? It’s been so frustrating and I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s been bringing me to tears. TIA

EDIT: I’ve been looking into dental schools, but have been having a hard time getting an appointment or knowing where to start or if it’s even possible for me to get this fixed.

Hi, I had a filling in a molar done in the UK 4 weeks ago. A week after I went back to have it smoothed down a bit more as it felt like it was catching when I was eating making it feel sensitive when i bite down. Its gradually got less sensitive over the past couple of weeks until the past 2/3 days when it feels sensitive again but only when I eat (particularly hot food). This morning it's not painful at all or sensitive but I'm definitely aware of it.

Before having the filling i had zero pain in the tooth, it was a chipped tooth and the dentist said it wasn't deep or anywhere near the root. This is my first filling so I have nothing to compare it to, should I be worried? I go on holiday in 10 days so really don't want tooth issues.

I realise this is much more of an orthodontist question, but the ask orthodontist subreddit looks very dead.

Is this an evidence based practice? Something about it just made me feel like I was being upsold. I don't think anyone I know who has had braces has had this assessment done.

The specialist is a considerable additional cost, and is also over 300km away (I live in regional Australia, most specialists are.)

Would you recommend it?

(I do not drink or smoke) Hello, a long while ago (~6ish months ago) I seemingly woke up with these marks appearing over night on my front teeth. Maybe it wasn’t actually overnight but i only noticed it over night. They aren’t spreading or anything, don’t hurt, and I can’t feel them with my finger. They worry me though and I have no idea what they are, I brush regularly though I slack on flossing ngl. This is the first time I’m seeing them this up close and it’s making me more scared. Are they cavities? I do the regular every six months for a dentist visit and nothing was noticed last time (but the marks weren’t visible then also). Please help, thanks.

Hello! I’m 25/F. I requested to my dentist if my adjustments could be done every 3 weeks instead, so the treatment can finish faster since I plan to leave/abroad next year. My dentist said my teeth are doing fine and are ready for removal by January. I want to speed things up, though I’m not really expecting the removal to happen exactly in January. I just want to know what else you think still needs to be fixed with my teeth. I’m still not satisfied, and my smile still feels awkward. I couldn’t sleep last night because I don’t want these to be taken out when things aren’t perfectly aligned yet. I’m worried that my money might just go to waste. Is my bite already okay? Also, I actually have a bent molar (not a wisdom tooth) on my lower jaw. They didn’t put a bracket on it because they said it’s difficult to pull into place.

Hello everyone! I am going to be starting a drug called rituximab for MS right away. I was advised i should do a gum graft by my dentist prior to starting treatment. Unfortunately, the gum graft did not take. We used donor gums. I am not sure what to do. Does anyone have advice? I need to start my treatment in October. I had the gum graft done 3 weeks ago and it made my gums far worse. Does anyone have experience treating patients who are taking rituximab while giving them a gum graft? Thank you!

After 5-8 hours of brushing my teeth on average my breath starts to get very bad.

Even after getting my teeth and gums cleaned it's the same.

I floss as well and clean my tongue very thoroughly.

I believe it may be a mild case of gingivitis and possibly because I suffer from acid reflux..I was also a smoker for most of my life but have quit.

Any good mouth wash and toothpaste ecommendations for breath and gum health?

Hello! Around a month ago I noticed in my 10 month old son’s mouth a white-ish little bump on his gum line behind a tooth. He was teething back then (although front upper teeth, the lateral one near the bump had been there for over a month). Dentist suggested it could be an eruption cyst but they’re not sure. I was under the impression these would resolve once the tooth is out (which has been for a while now).

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be? He has a second bump (very very small and not visible from pics) near the “big” one. Please ignore the boogers in his nose :)

I have a pretty deep overbite. When I clench my teeth/bite down, the bottom front teeth (24 and 25) press behind my two front teeth (8 and 9). My bottom tooth #24 is pretty crooked and it chipped last year and it chipped again in the same spot today. I'm getting nervous that my overbite is causing too much pressure on these teeth. What should I do?

I’ve recently developed a gap between my two front teeth and would love some advice from dentists here.

Background: I wore retainers with a pontic for a lost tooth, but got a dental bridge last November so I wouldn’t have to wear retainers anymore. Around April, I noticed a gap developing between my two front teeth.

I thought the bridge may have caused the movement, but a second dentist said it’s unrelated to the bridge and believes my frenum is contributing to the gap.

She gave me two options:
1. Frenectomy + composite bonding/veneers

2. Composite bonding alone, but warned the gap may continue opening because of my frenum.

My questions:

Could the bridge or stopping my retainers have contributed?

Should I consider aligners/orthodontics first?

Would you recommend frenectomy + bonding, or bonding alone?

My son lost a baby tooth about two weeks ago but where he lost it started bothering him this weekend. Does it look like typical healing?

I’ve had bleeding gums for years, probably the last 5 years. It used to just be a little bit. During my teen hood i was a little lazy (used to often forget in the morning but always brushed in the evening). I’m now 29 and my gums are now swollen all the time and bleed a LOT. They are constantly swollen and sensitive, but not receding. They bleed too, even biting into soft food like sandwiches, bananas etc. I can’t bite into apples anymore.

I’m just not sure what to do. Dentist said gingivitis last year and told me to floss better. I water flossed due to having a fear of normal floss. I started normal flossing two months ago.

I went back to the dentist a couple weeks ago and she said nothing has gotten worse… but I feel like my toothpaste shouldn’t be red with blood, not even streaks, fully dark pink. I never miss a brush day (twice a day), started flossing morning and evening now but nothing is working :( I’ve had professional cleans but doesn’t get rid of swelling. I guess I can get an electric toothbrush but surely it’s not going to just cure everything?

I’m scared. I don’t want gum disease. But I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m so attentive with my hygiene and I feel like nothing works and I’m feeling so lost. I’m writing this now and I can feel the inflammation around my front top and bottom teeth, it’s not comfortable.

I have Chrons disease which is an inflammatory disease. Could this be playing a part? I don’t know what to do about it because my dentist doesn’t seem worried but I live everyday with uncomfortable gums and fear I’ll eventually lose my teeth / get gum disease.

As you can see in the pic, they’re not red red but they’re puffy. Has anyone got ANY advice for me? Please? I’m getting desperate

I've recently become pretty sick in the last week and a half and this is also when I've noticed a sudden Green stain appear where tartar and plaque builds up in-between my teeth and along my gums. I'm convinced I have cyclospora but I'm getting more tests done as I continue to have diarrhea, vomiting every few days. I was given an antibiotic (zythromax) which did nothing. I noticed green around my teeth when I initially got sick as I brush twice a day, floss, and have never ever had this happen before even when I used to drink green smoothies. Does anyone know what could cause this? And could it be linked to my sickness that the Drs can't diagnose? Other than my illness, my mouth is fine, tongue is normal color too. The green appeared about 5 days prior to the vomiting starting in my sickness if it matters. The picture attached is after brushing so it isn't as bad but I still can't get the green off with flossing.

Hello! 33M. I have had these pink patches/streaks on my tongue for the past 3-4 weeks. They aren’t painful, but my tongue has felt more on the dry side despite the rest of my mouth feeling moist. Any ideas what they could be? Thank you!

Now the cherry on top, I am pretty sure tooth #15 root canal is reinfected or I’m wondering if the root was actually cracked. Only a year old root canal. Currently in pain and am embarrassed to call the dentist for the 20th time in the last 1 1/2months..

Also I am very unlucky when it comes to teeth. The only one in my family with dental issues:(

I got these pointy incisors as a teenager even though my canines are sharper my incisors are pointy and longer than my actual canines

I do drink occasionally and do not smoke. I have no medical conditions. I had a tooth extraction 5 days ago and have noticed that my gum line has been pulled back. It is hard and pointy. It doesn’t hurt at all, but it’s uncomfortable. Is this normal and will this go away on its own? Thank you!

How urgent is it to see a dentist if you think your wisdom tooth is growing sideways out of the gum? It is completely exposed, causing food to get stuck in the crevice and my gums bleed when I brush the food out.
I’m 23 female, I have no medical issues, don’t smoke, drink rarely for recreational purpose, and have my three other wisdom teeth as normal (although I had to get two teeth extracted for my top wisdom teeth as I didn’t have enough gum space for them).
