This queen is one of 4 inside a test tube setup. Here she is drinking the honey from a bit of cotton and then immediately sharing with her sisters. I’m pretty sure they are Brachymyrmex because they are so small. I’m new so could be wrong. Live in N. California

Caught this girl like a month ago and the colony is growing at a good rate (i think). Im pretty sure it is a pheidole species, caught her in sinaloa mexico. Any tips for keeping this species?

Found in North Georgia on the sidewalk. Thorax looks a little thin, not sure if she’s a queen.

I’m based on Northern California. I’m assuming these are Argentine ants, but odorous house ants look similar. I crushed one, and I didn’t smell anything. Would a single one smell if it was an odorous house ant ?

I’ve been using Advion all summer 🫠 We have bait set up all around the perimeter of our home as well, but I’m basically in a war with them.

In Ga, I have been stung / bitten by these two times and caused huge welts needing steriod and antibiotics. Any advice to get rid of them? I thought they were regular black ants but the sting is like a wasp.

Hi, so i hope this is going in the right flair as this is my first time to this sub! I have been spending a lot of time outside this summer (smoking lol) and always watch this colony that is really close to my chair. I have so many videos of them, but this is the most interesting to me, when i spit all the ants usually flock to it...but this time they started bringing little pieces of grass and sticks to cover it. Any idea why they are doung this behavior??

We've had carpenter ants coming into in our apartment for over a month, but all the ones I had previously seen were fully black. This one is slightly larger than the others I've seen, and it has a yellow center. What type is it? Additionally, how do I keep them out?

For a little more background information, I'm in South Texas (Rio Grande Valley) and this is my first time seeing these ants in the apartment. It started near the end of July, but I've lived here for three years. The unit previously had termites, and I believe the ants are following the paths they carved out. We're also currently experiencing a bad drought; it has rained a total of three times since May.

Hi so the skirting of my new apartment in spain isnt totally closed off at the base of the shower and those ants keep coming from that tiny hole under my shower.

Im a vegan so I feel bad for those poor lil fellas.

The thing is, it was ok there weren't a lot like today but just some crumbles of my cupcake fell and oops all of this came in my room.

Now its very difficult to avoid all of those ants if I wanna wash my teeth, toilet or shower.

Do someone have a solution ? That does not cost a lot? Thanks
