I’ve recently started building a YouTube channel around something I’ve been genuinely interested in for a long time: markets, companies, data and statistics.

My goal is to eventually build a serious channel that follows financial markets and major companies, creates historical comparisons, analyzes trends and turns large amounts of data into simple visualizations.

I’m at the very beginning, so I’m sharing it here in case anyone is interested in following the journey. I’d especially appreciate honest feedback on the content, presentation and what you’d like to see covered.

Hi all, my 7yr old wanted me to start a you tube channel because he’s obsessed with a channel called the wingroves family football channel, we’ve done 2 videos and I’ve really enjoyed doing it so far.

I run a zentangle/doodle art channel.

I’ve been told art and relaxation content sits at roughly $1-3 RPM, which would mean I’d need something like 200k views a month to make even modest money from ads. That feels like a wall I’m never getting over.

For anyone actually monetized in art, illustration, or relaxation content:
• What’s your real RPM? Especially if your audience is India/SEA heavy.

**•** What share of your income is ads vs memberships vs products vs commissions?

**•** Did monetization change anything meaningful, or was it mostly symbolic?

**•** Did you find something outside YouTube that paid better for the same effort?

Not looking for encouragement — I’d rather hear real numbers, including from people it didn’t work out for.
