Help ban conversion therapy in the EU

There is curently a citizen initiative to ban conversion therapy that needs 1 million signatures.

For those that don't know what it is, it's a pseudoscience that attempts to turn LGBTQ+ kids and adults into "normal" people through psychological or physical violence. It’s still happening all over the world, especially to children who are sent into "re-education" camps and while there are some country where it is banned there are still far too many where these practices are legal, including many in the EU.

There are only 4 days left and we are still missing 600,000 signatures. If you are a EU citizen, please sign this, it takes only 5 min and it might save lives.

The subject isn’t sex change procedure. It’s about kids being sent into "re education" facilities because they do not fit the mold (i.e. they are gay, or trans, or something else, or just believed to be by their parents). The abuse in these facilities has been widely documented and includes electroshock therapy, rape, use of chemicals, physical abuse, psychological conditioning, verbal abuse and basically revolves around teaching them to hate themselves.

It causes irreparable mental and physical damage and leads to self harm and suicide in many cases.

Please help spread the word so that these practices stop.

None, but these kind of "therapy" are generally done with the consent of the parents (who want to make their children "normal") so there is no one to denounce these actions until the child is an adult. The structures organizing these often present it as a "summer camp" designed to "fix" children.

The point of this initiative is to prevent these kind of structures from existing, so there isn’t a need to prove individually they are being violent every time a new one is created.

It’s basically cutting the problem at the root.

If it is illegal then consent of the parent doesn’t change a thing mate. It is still rape of a child. You should really know that.

It seems to me that we don’t need any fucking petition. We need to call the police and get this people locked for 20+ years.

You SPECIFICALLY need to call the police since you are aware of child rapes.

I mean come on, making a fucking petition instead of reporting rapes to authorities. Dude.
