The original thing is called "death diving", and these idiots are missing the last crucial step of tucking in at the last second to protect yourself.
There are even competitions for it.

We Norwegians get quite offended when you say the original thing is called death diving when it’s actually called dødsing. Lol jk we don’t get offended but we are proud that it’s a Norwegian creation that even has a World Cup!
