Hey everyone! I’m a 37 year old guy. I’m trying to make some positive changes in my life and get myself out of the house more.

I’ve gone through a pretty difficult phase of life recently, but I’m finally at a point where I feel ready to move forward, meet new people, and try some new things.

I’m honestly a bit shy and don’t have a huge list of hobbies, so I’m hoping to get some recommendations from people around the White Rock/South Surrey area.

I enjoy being outdoors, but with the weather getting cooler, I’d also like to find some indoor activities or hobbies that I can stick with through the fall and winter.

I’m not looking for anything specific, just hoping to discover some new interests, become more social, and build a healthier routine.

If you have a hobby, group, class, or volunteering opportunity you really enjoy in the area, I’d love to hear about it.

I was at white rock the other night, I saw many large rats running near the washrooms and in general along the walking paths.

I also notice as of late has a lingering smell of certain odours that seem to linger.

It has certainly changed over the years.

Finding a stylist who knows how to cut and style curly hair is an absolute chore. I went to Salon Cordeiro for years but won't go back after they cut like 7 inches off my hair when I told them I wanted to keep it long (that was 2 years ago and not even half of it has grown back).

I really need someone who can clean up my mess of a head but everyone I've been to since my long hair was massacred has done a terrible job. Not to mention no one knows how to style curly hair.

Does a hairdresser who actually understands how to properly cut and style curly hair exist? Is there anyone out there who has left a salon in the area with their natural curls and felt good about it?

Im starting to plan a trip to Whiterock for summer of 2027. (I know that its a year away but I like to plan :)) I have 3 boys who will be 8, 6, and 4 next summer. We live in Saskatoon and plan to road trip, and the point of going to Whiterock is to show the ocean to my boys. I know it is close to Vancouver as well and so we do plan to visit Vancouver during our time there. Hopefully do a 10 day road trip and stay 3 nights at white rock. Plan to hotel it as well so any recommendations to where to stay would help as well.

I am just looking to see if anyone knows of any gems that I should plan to do or see with my family in or around Whiterock? Beaches to check out the ocean? Thanks!

i live in south surrey so i could meet in south surrey or white rock! i just started to learn but i think i can make progress rather quickly with some consistent practice :-)

i don't work a traditional 9-5 so im available in the daytime (when the courts are the least busy!)

Hey WR friends! My family member doesn't drive and has been looking for ways to give back and loves dogs! They are very interested in volunteering with a rescue or shelter. It doesn't seem WR itself has one. Any suggestions? Or maybe connecting him with a senior who needs their dog walked? Are there services that connect seniors with volunteers?

Responsible and lovely just can't have animals in their apartment.

WR can barely pull off Canada Day fireworks, but some extended private party fireworks at 11pm on a random Tuesday? Checkmark.

Has anyone had jaw surgery with Dr. Murray Fain or Dr. Mark Reichman? Who would you recommend for both aesthetic and functional results?

My wife has chronic back pain that gets relieved with deep tissue massages. However, since moving to White Rock, she hasn't been able to find a masseuse who can *actually* deliver a true deep tissue massage. They've all be too "weak" on the force.

Any suggestions?

Did anyone else head down to the waterfront for the Wings Over White Rock show today? The beach was absolutely packed, but what an incredible send-off. The Snowbirds put on a full 45-minute display over Semiahmoo Bay, and the formations were spectacular.

​It's bittersweet knowing this is the last time they'll perform here until the early 2030s. They're retiring the classic CT-114 Tutors after this season and taking a sabbatical to transition to the new Pilatus PC21s. Watching them today felt like witnessing a real piece of Canadian aviation history. It was also great to see everyone out supporting the CH.I.L.D. Foundation.

Hi, as title says, my Langley and White Rock adult step-children want me to show them how to play this Sunday. Obv I don't want to go to either of Centennial or South Surrey pickleball parks during busy open play times for this exercise. Question for local players: do I need to reserve a court at Centennial or is there a time on Sunday when open courts are pretty likely? Thanks in advance!

I think Five Corners should be turned into a 3-way stop, or at least a stop sign added where Pacific Ave turns into Johnston Rd.

A lot of people seem to be confused that they must yield to oncoming traffic when turning left onto Buena Vista from Pacific. I have witnessed an awful lot of near-misses at this intersection. Any thoughts?

Hi I'm looking for a good recommendation for a dentist. Some details for relevancy...

I'm in my early 50s, and I think I basically need to get new teeth, so it's a big, expensive job. (I have British teeth which means they spread apart over time.) I don't have coverage, so price is something I'm thinking about, but really, my first priority is to find someone who is really good at replacing teeth, so the price is secondary. I'm anxious about having problems with the new teeth and needing multiple procedures, which is why I would super appreciate any advice from people who have had good work done locally.
