Insanely irresponsible but that’s probably one of the best outcomes.

u/Future_Section5976 4h ago

Well it fits now ,

u/toasted_cracker 3h ago

It would have for before if they had given it a tiny bit of thought.

u/ledocteur7 1h ago

Yeah, between the two front seats with some length hanging off the back.

We carried so many IKEA boxes that way (not sticking out tho obv), and it's way less sketchy with a planck since it doesn't block the view of the driver unlike a big ol' cardboard box.

u/NoChanceRight 3h ago

u/BuxtonB 1h ago

Even to this day I can't drive behind or near HGV's carrying stuff because of this movie.

u/Bitter-Marsupial 1h ago

After The Brick Video, I cant do any open transport trucks without sweating

u/Hetares 54m ago

That one sucks so much. The guy's wails of despair knowing his wife behind was just gone, no hope of survival, in an instant.

u/BuxtonB 38m ago

Never saw that one, and by all accounts I should keep it that way.

u/asday515 10m ago

You especially don't want to listen to it

u/mrjmgreddit 1h ago

I'm with you right there

u/malek_adema 14m ago

I think this scene PTSDt a whole generation

u/OkWillingness7427 3h ago

I was expecting some final destination type shi to happen

u/ProperClue 1h ago

Hey....they had the plastic bag on the end of it haha

u/Newplasticactionhero 28m ago

Second place in being insanely irresponsible is following that close

u/Vanguard-Override 4h ago edited 2h ago

Bold of them to stay this close to that, I would've stayed far away to avoid a Final Destination.

Edit: grammar

u/Hexent_Armana 4h ago

I was going to say "What could go wrong following that so closely."

u/raknor88 10m ago

Let also not ignore the unsecured wall of stones in the back of the van as well. One good bump and possibly say goodbye to your tires and/or undercarraige.

u/Three_Twenty-Three 4h ago

Yeah, this is absolutely a situation where'd I'd back way off and let it unfold without me.

u/Stosh65 2h ago

But the dashcam video clicks!

I agree with you, just to be clear.

u/jdoe3351 4h ago

Especially with what looked like unsecured boxes of paper stacked up in the back. If the board doesn't get you, the boxes will

u/HulaViking 4h ago

I assumed those were cement blocks.

u/knotknotknit 2h ago

Yeah, look at how low it's sitting. No way that's within the weight limits of the vehicle.

u/Far_Yam_9412 1h ago

Mythbusters proved it possible, but unwise

u/RedPanda7725 4h ago

Cameraman never dies though

u/andocromn 3h ago

Those who die cannot post

u/Moraz_iel 1h ago

I'm sure the driver will be glad to know its dashcam is safe

u/XNXTXNXKX 3h ago

Edit: grammar

u/el_bentzo 4h ago

If there was a final destination then they would've died no matter what.

u/Exilicauda 3h ago

What? You're not reassured by the 1 car length following distance?

u/Sparktank1 3h ago

*Grammar. Not grammer.

u/Pure-Club7560 3m ago

They did pulle away as soon as they saw the shit hitting the fan.

u/_RRave 1h ago

It's a thin piece of wood, it would snap before going through the windscreen. Not a lorry full of trees.

u/Nexzus_ 4h ago

u/J5892 3h ago

I feel like this gif originated in a diabetes forum.

u/SlavicRobot_ 4h ago

Who could've seen that coming... Apparently not the idiot who loaded it and decided yep I'll drive it.

u/ChanceConfection3 4h ago

I think driving it wouldn’t be that bad if you realize you’ve got a delicate situation that requires utmost care.

But if you still are trying to squeeze by cars and go for a new lap record, then this video happens

u/beatenmeat 19m ago

Utmost care is kind of impossible when both sides are encroaching on the other lanes. You can see the driver swerving left/right to avoid both sides of traffic.

u/mr_flibble_oz 4h ago

The problem was they didn’t put the plastic bag on the left side

u/FURERABA 4h ago

I feel like the maker of the video is equally stupid for recording this while driving while also following this closely. Why would you do that when you know something bad is going to happen?

u/MistressDread 4h ago

Looks to me like the person recording is in the left hand seat, which would be the passenger side if all the cars are driving on the left side of the road

u/Odd_Government9315 4h ago

Devil's advocate, they're following closely to act as a blocker car since they're at least aware of the situation.

u/jimothy_halpert1 4h ago

But did you see the guy riding in the back of the truck to the left at the beginning

u/psymeariver 3h ago

Lawn thieves.

u/Brian_1985 4h ago

Urban jousting?

u/Low-Refrigerator-713 4h ago

We're all just going to ignore the dude standing in the back of the truck?

u/Pollo_Chimichanga 4h ago

In Mexico we see that all day every day. Workers, families, kids sports teams. Standing, sitting on the edge of the bed, sitting on plastic chairs riding on a flat bed.

u/AKS-me 4h ago

$450? For jousting sticks? Tell him he's dreaming.

u/Current-Bowl-143 4h ago

Couldn't be worth more than 250. Depending on the condition.

u/Autahi 43m ago

Jousting Sticks? What do ya want with those?

u/Masada72 4h ago

I would LOVE to hear the conversation between the driver and their insurance company.

u/SnarkDolphin 1h ago

You sound awfully confident that this guy has insurance

u/40oz_TEC-9 4h ago

Well now the wood is short enough to fit inside the vehicle.

u/KiloThaPastyOne 4h ago

Hey! Your car broke my board!

u/Wiley_Rasqual 4h ago

So tailgatey

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz 4h ago

Right? "Look at this fool. Let me follow as close as I can so I can get it on camera..."

u/scrotumscab 4h ago

I appreciate them...

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz 4h ago

Of course you would.  Cameraman was stuck to the car in front of him like a scab on a...

You two deserve each other.

u/EconomyDoctor3287 36m ago

We wouldn't have gotten this beauty if the driver didn't follow closely.

Please keep delivering such bangers

u/ChewbaccaSmith 4h ago

That really shattered my expectations

u/wutangclan187 4h ago

Video starts at 27 seconds

u/CzarDM 4h ago

That's odd. I can play the entire clip

u/PsyOpBunnyHop 4h ago

u/CzarDM 4h ago

I get it, I didn't get it

u/oso831 4h ago

i like the anticipation

u/redditorfor6minutes 48m ago

Especially with the misdirection with the truck.

u/TeaManTom 4h ago

And ends at 29

u/Dude-88 4h ago

He was doing so well for a while

u/infjaxred 4h ago

Surprise surprise, someone's window gets smashed.

u/2Sweet2Salty 4h ago

The dude sitting in the passenger side of the jousting definitely got smacked in the face when the wood thing snapped

u/DCMONSTER111 4h ago

That was way too close of a following distance when you already knew how that was gonna end. Smh. Dumb drivers on both ends

u/ares0027 4h ago

Sometimes i really miss the r word…

u/Emergency-State 4h ago

The headline, lmao

u/11twofour 3h ago

There's a sub for this r/idiotsofhomedepot maybe?

u/LaszloPanaflexxx 2h ago

This is idiots of Bunnings

u/Any_Show_5160 2h ago

That's not Australia or NZ, plates, street lights and traffic lights are wrong.

u/Chteelers2018 3h ago

But what about my homie riding the dump truck sofa?

u/NarwhalEmergency9391 3h ago

This is one of the funniest things I've read/ watched on here

u/CzarDM 3h ago

Just doing the Good Lord's s work here, thanks

u/Fang_47 3h ago

You sir, are a knight

u/how_is_this_relaxing 3h ago

Did not disappoint.

u/Practical_Pass_2619 4h ago

Wheres the rest of the video?

u/GamingDisruptor 4h ago

Great idea... for the zombie apocalypse

u/johnnyjohnny-sugar 4h ago

That's a whole new definition of idiot

u/justaguy2469 4h ago

Got so close to the end. /s

u/No_Kindheartedness10 4h ago

Por qué? Por pendejo !

u/imhereforthevotes 4h ago

You can feel when the van forgets they need to leave clearance... they were for a while.

u/Ok_Understanding3890 4h ago

Ope, just gonna skootch by ya right here.

u/Definitely-not-ducks 4h ago

Did he win the fair maiden’s hand tho?

u/SouthOfTheNorthPole 4h ago

Didn't have to wait long to see the obvious conclusion.

u/TheBlack_Swordsman 4h ago

If you're going to do stupid shit like this, at least try to do it like at 6-8AM where there's less people on the road...

u/Qanniq 4h ago

They are lucky it didn’t spin about and stab them in the head. People like this amaze me that their own foolishness hasn’t caught up with them.

u/nunudad 4h ago

Imagine the fear of the other driver who didn’t sign up for the joust.

u/NotTheRocketman 4h ago

I would be so much further away from that car.

u/jcrckstdy 4h ago

Chase cam up on it like Steven Spielberg

u/crazypants9 4h ago

Brilliant

u/Nachtzug79 4h ago

I just got an idea how we could bring good old jousting games to modern times.

u/Middle_Bread_6518 4h ago

Sheesh if I ever had to kid a car like that best believe I’d be driving under the speed limit the whole way home

u/luv2ctheworld 4h ago

Famous last thoughts: Plenty of space to squeeze past...

u/Free-Pound-6139 3h ago

Why the fuck wouldn't you call the cops on this asshole, and keep driving behind them????

u/tmac4969 3h ago

Dumb shit like that can kill people ( just think if it would have been a cyclist)

u/Pistolero921 3h ago

So fucking stupid

u/JeromeGBGB 3h ago

Kids on there way to fix a drywall

u/FatherCache 3h ago

Note to self:

Delivery fee < Rear Windshield.

u/NoAngle2972 3h ago

I think the average intelligence is on a downward spiral.

u/teenwent11 3h ago

Bold of you to assume that wasn't exactly what they intended.

Illegal, but Mission accomplished.

u/No-Draw6073 3h ago

Hahahahah

u/SoupNecessary7439 3h ago

It's Aaaaaaaaaldrich Von Lichtensteinnnn!!!!

u/Rogueshoten 3h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/iDJuQR0UmiqOI
The driver of the vehicle behind them…

u/aeschenkarnos 3h ago

“Ye Cannae Change The Laws Of Physics, Jim!” — Scotty

u/readhills 2h ago

I waited a full 27 seconds for that to happen... Now now and then it did!

u/whitecow 2h ago

This used to be a joke on 90 comedies. Now people are really doing it

u/SewnAlchemy 2h ago

This looks like New Providence, Bahamas

u/ChappersP 2h ago

In theory they should’ve had no problem driving like that, I mean, they even put a (clear/white) bag over the back end of it for better visibility.

u/Ya-Dikobraz 2h ago

Why would you take the fast lane with this rig?

u/Famous_Buddy_2558 2h ago

he was doing so well too

u/IDontEatDill 2h ago

What do you mean? They have safety plastic bag installed.

u/SCsprinter13 2h ago

First 75% of the video: Well at least they're acutely aware of the hazard sticking out of their car

Last 25% of the video: What a moron.

u/Goodnigut 2h ago

Made me think of this, but 2026 edition.

https://giphy.com/gifs/m7Goh2ckI7yUreOhZ5

u/redditanddoneit 2h ago

What an idiot

u/JauntyGiraffe 2h ago

You have been weighed, measured and have been found wanting

u/jaxon517 2h ago

How the actual fuck can people be this so goddamn stupid. It's enraging.

u/KaBar42 2h ago

There were so many better... ish ways of doing this.

There was no reason to have it angled like that. They easily could have rested it on the dashboard and secured it with rope and had it hanging straight out of the back. Not great, but a hell of a lot less likely to cause an accident than making your car wider than it normally is.

Also, has anyone else mentioned the guy riding in the bed of the first truck?

u/StuD44 2h ago

So f*cking 5tupid!

u/Early-Accident-8770 2h ago

I wonder if this is somewhere like Fiji? Drive on the left and road safety is pretty lax, witness the guy sitting in the black garbage bag on the truck.

u/Pers_Akkedis 1h ago

Stop stressing, babe. It'll fit.

u/rHappyBoy 1h ago

And the poor man in the hit car, who was just minding his own business, has to waste his time to repair his car now

u/Rebelscum9321 1h ago

What's great is that even without a roof rack, they couldve probably secured it to the top of the vehicle. 🤣

u/No-Departure2515 1h ago

there has to be a better way

u/aibrony 1h ago

And some say chivalry is dead.

u/AIBotnmbr99 1h ago

This had me seriously nervous. That could have been a lot more gruesome.

u/DadAndDominant 1h ago

WHY ARE THERE NO JOUSTING VEHICLES

u/joan_bdm 1h ago

Is that a guy on the backside of that truck?

https://giphy.com/gifs/4T189yy4SfUbByZHRu

u/raggasonic 1h ago

He nailed it

u/ImprovementFar5054 44m ago

"I ain't payin' for delivery, that's how they git ya!"

u/PrincessTitan 42m ago

“Jousting vehicle” is tickling the hell out of me

u/GallantSystem 16m ago

Its so infuriating how a lot of us have to pay for someone else's stupidity.

u/MistakesTasteGreat 16m ago

That was a very satisfying crunch at the end and the exact outcome I was expecting.

u/Solo-1UP 4h ago

Retards at it again. Did they not see “oh this extends passed my own lane, this is probably not a good idea”

u/Sieze5 4h ago

u/Santana_De_La_Cruz 4h ago

"Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints..."
