This is the better and more effective solution.

If you live in a shithole where police don't help people, sure.

u/ShizlGznGahr 5h ago

so all of the US

The mind of the average Redditor is incomprehensible to me. I just cannot fathom making blatantly dishonest statements with so much certainty. At the same time most Redditors will routinely disparage people they despise for being dishonest. I just do not get it. I know you won't admit this comment is entirely dishonest. I would love for someone else who used to think this way to explain it to me. Like do people just hate learning anything? How much has the average person's brain deteriorated in the last ~10-15 years?!

u/Cresspacito 3h ago

This isn't a measure of the police helping people with day to day crime or issues like violence against women.

It is specifically regarding resources put towards countering organized crimes, which obviously favours countries with more money which is almost exactly what the table shows.

They also doesn't appear to be forthcoming with their methodology.

Also (because of fucking course this is the case): "This project was funded in part by a grant from the United States Department of State"

OP is who made the claim that the entire US is a shithole country where the police do not help people. I provided something that claimed otherwise but I didn't have to. I'm not the one who made the claim. Yeah, my source is probably questionable but at least I provided a source that could be debated. The person I replied to gave nothing.

One thing I will say I was refuting their claim that the police do not help people. My view of how to rate that is by measuring the police response time amoung countries. If you have a source that paints a different picture I'd love to see it. I could be wrong and learn that Americans are living in a shit hole country where the police do not help people. I'd love to see sources that backup their claim. I'm sure I'll see evidence that the US is actually ranked 14 out of 193 or 14 out of 194 depending on you feel about Taiwan. Or 15 out of 195 if you count Taiwan and Niue.

So a random website with absolutely 0 criteria listed is the basis for your argument?

u/Large_Yams 1h ago

Correct.

u/Neither_Pirate5903 6h ago edited 5h ago

no it's not because these very comments in this thread prove how fing stupid the average person is

SHE WAS THE ONE BEING AGGRESSIVE

first she grabs his drink and spills it which he splashes her with it in response. admittedly stupid but def not unprovoked

Than she gets up to stand over top of him and tries to grab at him and he responds by pushing her back

The kick to keep her down seems like it's unwarranted and over the top that is until you see him gathering his stuff to leave she advances toward him and grabs a bottle off the table to use as a weapon

He then pushes her down and leaves

u/the_horny_alter 6h ago

Clearly continuing to come back and hit her, clearly in the stronger position and more aggressive the whole time and the majority of people here agree. Loser incel

u/Successful_Tea7979 6h ago

Doesn’t matter that he’s stronger. She shouldn’t have started it if she didn’t want it 🤷

u/TheGrouchyGremlin 6h ago

Trying to stop an aggressive drunk person from drinking more isn't "starting" anything.

u/Socky-McPuppet 6h ago

Hey, officers... check this guy's basement, ok?

u/citizensnips43 6h ago

Whatever the reason she has for grabbing the drink is speculation, she could’ve been trying to stop him from getting poisoned for all we know. He threw the drink in her face which is assault. Period.

u/EnvironmentalTip8967 5h ago

Yeah throwing a drink on someone is an assault, but she assaults him by grabbing the drink. As long as your using the legal definition. Its clear he didn't want her touching him.

u/citizensnips43 5h ago

Grabbing a drink is not assault and I feel like you should understand that. It could have been her drink for all we know

u/EnvironmentalTip8967 5h ago

Could you define assault for me please? Im using the legal definition which includes unwanted contact. https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/assault

u/citizensnips43 5h ago

Like I said, how do you know it wasn’t her drink?

u/EnvironmentalTip8967 5h ago

u/citizensnips43 5h ago

So verbal assault and then physical assault. That sounds about right to me.

u/EnvironmentalTip8967 5h ago

Im sorry I have strict epistemic standards. These are allegations and can not be confirmed other than the woman's own testimony. I'm not going to be an idiot and condemn this man until I know enough facts to be certain.

Psychotic response. She wasn't being aggressive. She was trying to grab his drink to stop him. Everything else she does is in self defense.

u/Neither_Pirate5903 5h ago edited 5h ago

stop him from what DRINKING IT. We see him move the cup towards himself. Any insinuation that he planned to splash her with it BEFORE she did that is COMPLETELY unfounded and your just creating your own narrative

she then stands up and puts her hands on him - that is not self defense

when she stands up the second time she advances toward him to grab a weapon off the table - that is not self defense

u/RubyMae4 4h ago

It is not OK to pour beer on someone because they tried to grab your cup to stop drinking. As the story states she saw some red flags and was ending the relationship so maybe excessive alcohol use was involved.

She stands up to protect herself there and then again later when she grabs the bottle. That is 100% self defense. You can see it in her stance. She's holding the bottle down, not threatening him but standing her ground.

Very concerning behavior on your part.

u/Numerous_Nature_6326 5h ago

If anything she is grabbing that bottle for protection. She never even raises it before he fkn shoves her to the ground again. Defending this piece of shit is a very interesting choice.

u/Neither_Pirate5903 5h ago edited 5h ago

she had to approach him to grab the bottle she could have gone the opposite direction to escape she choose agreession as she did with every action shown in the video

if you grab a weapon I'm not waiting for you to raise and use the weapon. the act of grabbing it is threat enough

u/finchdude 6h ago

STFU Incel

u/lets-get-loud 6h ago

My guys over here really like "cops can and should shoot u if u yell at them, those r equal actions"

u/Yogshemesh 6h ago

Are you brain dead? He threw a drink in her face and the shoved her to the ground when she stands up. He then kicked her when she is trying to get back up. I don't know what you think constitutes self-defense, but it is not anything like this.

u/EnvironmentalTip8967 5h ago

She was ok to grab his drink out of his hand though? That's assault by definition..

u/Neither_Pirate5903 5h ago

He threw a drink in her face after she tried grabbing it from him which is also assault

she didn't just stand up she tried to put her hands on him

yes he kicked her to try to keep her on the ground (the only unprovoked action he took) and we can see that was very much a smart choice because upon getting up the FIRST thing she does is grab a glass bottle to use as a weapon

the morons in the thread have completely lost their fing minds just because the guy was stronger and won doesn't make him the aggressor

u/dinard381 5h ago

The only moron in this thread is you if you believe that bullshit that you just spouted. None of us were there but I’m guessing that she grabbed the bottle to stop him from drinking more because he was probably intoxicated, and he reacted the way he did. In what universe did she instigate the kind of reaction he gave?

I’m also guessing that you’re a pos like this guy.

u/ComfortablyNomNom 6h ago

Either bait or you are a nutter

u/Simple_Ideal5571 5h ago edited 5h ago

Pretty sure that was her bag unless the pathetic excuse of a man is embracing his inner clown and rocking a man-purse

edit: I guess it is his bag since her‘s seem to be on the seat lmao

u/SlowAdhesiveness2178 6h ago

Say sike right now

u/NowWeRinse 6h ago

Honestly you're not 100% wrong, she keeps escalating on rewatch just the kick is really over the top. Also he also could have retreated when she grabbed the bottle but decided to take it further. ESH
