The mind of the average Redditor is incomprehensible to me. I just cannot fathom making blatantly dishonest statements with so much certainty. This isn't a measure of the police helping people with day to day crime or issues like violence against women.

It is specifically regarding resources put towards countering organized crimes, which obviously favours countries with more money which is almost exactly what the table shows.

They also doesn't appear to be forthcoming with their methodology.

OP is who made the claim that the entire US is a shithole country where the police do not help people. I provided something that claimed otherwise but I didn't have to. I'm not the one who made the claim. Yeah, my source is probably questionable but at least I provided a source that could be debated. The person I replied to gave nothing.

One thing I will say I was refuting their claim that the police do not help people. My view of how to rate that is by measuring the police response time amoung countries. If you have a source that paints a different picture I'd love to see it. I could be wrong and learn that Americans are living in a shit hole country where the police do not help people. I'd love to see sources that backup their claim. I'm sure I'll see evidence that the US is actually ranked 14 out of 193 or 14 out of 194 depending on you feel about Taiwan. Or 15 out of 195 if you count Taiwan and Niue.

It is not OK to pour beer on someone because they tried to grab your cup to stop drinking. As the story states she saw some red flags and was ending the relationship so maybe excessive alcohol use was involved.

She stands up to protect herself there and then again later when she grabs the bottle. That is 100% self defense. You can see it in her stance. She's holding the bottle down, not threatening him but standing her ground.

Many years ago me and some buddies were walking home from playing football in the park and saw a guy a couple years older than us doing stuff like this to a lady in a vehicle in a has station parking lot. None of us even hesitated and ran at him full sprint. We beat the brakes off that dude and held him until the police came. She didn't want to press charges against him but there was surveillance video and the police arrested him anyways. I still think about that sometimes and hope she didn't end up taking him back.

She gets up, while he is actively trying to leave, and picks up a weapon.

She was the aggressor. She probably thought she could get away with getting physical since she was a woman and was upset that he was willing to defend himself so she went for a weapon.
