watch this Trump: “We could do tremendous good for ourselves by just not trading with countries. We lose $200 billion dollars a year with the European Union. If I didn't trade with them, we would lose nothing.”
•
u/7thpostman 16h ago
He's just incredibly dumb
•
u/EmphaticNegative 15h ago
So this is how you bankrupt casinos. Its all coming together now
•
u/Trick-Goat-3643 14h ago
We lose 1 million dollars a month to gamblers who win at our tables, If we just stop gamblers from coming in we save 1 million dollars and lose nothing
•
u/kingtacticool 12h ago
Or better yet, just decrease the odds of winning to zero. That way we still get their money and dont lose anything. Literally cant go tits up.
•
u/SavageSwordShamazon 11h ago
These mercantilist ideas work great, just so long as nobody else possesses agency and gets to do anything.
•
u/Beneficial_Bit_6435 12h ago
Exactly. It is basic economic 101. Unfortunately he didn’t learn a thing then, and his professor confirmed that trump was the most stupid student he had ever taught

So this is how America falls. Not with a bang, but a shart.
•
u/MisterMarjorie3Shirt 15h ago
This is also how you get a million plus dead Americans during a pandemic. You just stop counting cases and the numbers miraculously go way down!
•
u/Inside-Ad-8935 12h ago
I remember people saying it was all elaborate schemes to rack up debt and the run off with the cash. No he's just thick as shit.
•
u/SavageSwordShamazon 11h ago
His dad literally had to funnel money to him by sending someone down to the casino and buying a million in chips and just leaving with it.
•
u/Organic_Rough4433 14h ago
I dont think he's dumb like that I just think hes dumb enough to think people will believe him. Unfoulrtunatllely he is right. He knew which base was dumb enough to elect him and now he know they'll believe anything he says. Hes not talking to anyone besides his base. He know what hes saying is obnoxious be he knows his base is so dumb they will believe anything. All about freedom but love it when people tell them what to think.
→ More replies (6)•
u/7thpostman 14h ago
He's a protectionist. He thinks trade is bad
•
u/Organic_Rough4433 14h ago
I really dont think he thinks that. Hes just a business man who wants to feel like he won because of his massive ego. Everything he does is a dick measuring contest. That's why he envies Kim Jong Un and putin so much. Not because they win in their economy but because they have complete control over their governments. This is really just an extention of trump trying to be an all powerful ruler. Renaming shit. Taking over countries or threatening to. Trying to cow the Iranian regime. He just want people to submit to his will. In reality he's just a big baby throwing temper tantrums. And when he leaves office or is kicked out he will either be thrown in jail or fined into bankruptcy or he will have a special FBI task force that watches him so closely that he won't be able to do anything in private. His secret service will more than likely be fbi plants to watch his every move. Hes going down one way or another.

Putin really is getting everything he wants. Honestly, look at everything Trump does, almost all of it benefits Putin.
•
u/HorrorCheetah1165 4h ago
Putin's plan is falling into place:
"Russia cannot destroy the USA with bullets. Russia needs to find someone to destroy the USA from within'' - Vladmir Putin (when he was the KGB Chief years ago).
'‘The perfect target: Russia cultivated Trump as asset for over 20 years – ex-KGB spy'' Donald Trump was cultivated as a Russian asset over 20 years and proved so willing to parrot anti-western propaganda that there were celebrations in Moscow, a former KGB spy has told the Guardian. Unger describes how Trump first appeared on the Russians’ radar in 1977 when he married his first wife, Ivana, a Czech model. Trump became the target of a spying operation overseen by Czechoslovakia’s intelligence service in cooperation with the KGB.

You are right. And even MORE concerning is that NONE of the democrats are standing up to explain logically and simply just how wrong Trump is. Nobody is doing the talk show or podcast circuit: nobody with half a brain or an ounce of interest in the country’s economy and future is calling republics to explain just how bad things will be for generations if this administration isn’t stopped right now. This week. Not soon, not after or even before the midterms. This isn’t a partisan thing. This is for the benefit of the entire country’s future. Reform congress and the senate now, and anyone refusing to stand up for the good of North American economy needs to be sent to the gallows for treason.

Do you understand what a trade deficit is? A trade deficit has nothing to do with losing money whatsoever. Its merely a measurement of the balance of buying and selling to another country. Buy and sell equally = no deficit. Buys MORE than it sells to them = deficit.
(NOT defending trump or anyones feeling about him)
•
u/AdmiresCurves 15h ago
But the US not losing money by trading with Europe. That’s the thing about trade, we give money to people, but they give us the goods and service services that we are exchanging the money for. That’s not a loss, that’s a voluntary exchange.
•
u/mhsx 14h ago
In some sense, the one with the trade deficit is getting the better deal - they are getting real goods and services in exchange for… money that they can print at will.

u/Double-Watercress-85 12h ago
He always does. He's incapable of perceiving a deal being anything but a zero sum game. If somebody else benefitted, to him, that necessarily means that he took a loss. There's no such thing in his mind as a win-win.
This is because, as others have mentioned, he is incredibly stupid.

Yeah. I am no trade expert. But to say we don't trade and don't need anything, is the most moronic thing I have ever heard. This man has dementia. What's worse is that there is 80 million people in our country who are so unintelligent that they actually believe every last word of what this buffoon says, thinking both them and he are smart.
We are living in the end times. America is falling and we have front row seats to the collapse.

•
u/angrybox1842 11h ago
He is just such an absolute moron that has never been able to wrap his head around what a Trade Deficit is (that we import more than we export), his peabrain keeps thinking it's like the Federal Deficit (that we spend more on government and services than we collect in taxes).

•
u/Admirable-Many6054 15h ago
He's trying to fuck up the country as much as humanly possible so that the incoming Democrats will have an entire shitshow to deal with and then get blamed when they can't fix everything Trump fucked up in 4 years. Wake up, Americans. He's driving America into the ground. Or tell me, should every farmer just be content to sell their produce just to their own family. Do you think the US becoming completely insular will actually save it? The answer is a definitive no. Look at the state of North Korea if you don't believe me. You want to live in that? Cause that's where you're headed.

It's kind of cute, actually, him trying to talk like the grownups. He can't figure out how to bully us into submission, so now he's trying to steal the line Mr. Carney used so eloquently last year: "We can give ourselves more than President Trump can take away." and the many variations of that line since then.
The problem is, Trump is too dimwitted to understand what Mr. Carney was actually saying, and he has to dumb it down to his own version.
