It was a nice little touch of Disney magic!

Title basically says it all however for more context I have the option to change from a Preferred Pool (guaranteed 60s section) at Pop to a Standard Location at CBR for basically the same cost (or close enough to it). One thing I always hear about CBR is how sprawling it is and how you could wind up quite far from the Skyliner/other things, which is a major perk and part of the reason why I picked a Preferred Pool room room at Pop so I would be pretty close to the food court and Skyliner. I also normally stay at Pop so am familiar with it and the like.

CBR on the other hand I have never stayed at and while it's always been there as a possibility it's normally outside my realm price wise since I mainly just need a place to sleep. It being the Skyliner Hub is intriguing, and I know in the past some of the standard rooms were close to the Skyliner, but I have heard multiple reports that those have been made into Preferred locations now. So I worry that if I'm in a Standard room that it's going to be a hike at the end of the day to get back to the room, vs just the few hundred feet from Skyliner to 60s at Pop. But the fact they are pretty much equal price atm has given me major pause, especially as I'll be there for a good week this time with time to enjoy the resort, so staying at a moderate could be appealing.

Thoughts? How bad is a "standard location" at CBR really? Which section should I request/hope for if I was to change from Pop to CBR?

In the parks now and we made the mistake of not ordering our magicbands in time. There are very few designs everywhere we’ve checked (emporium, connections shop, a few resort stores, world of Disney, and the Disney springs pin traders shop).

We haven’t been able to find any solid color bands except army green, and there are only maybe 5-6 other designs around. It really seems like Disney is selling off the last of their stock and that’ll be it.

I still have my resort mug as well from this trip.

Just came back from an 8 day/7 night stay (Aug 28-Sep 5) at WDW. Thought I’d share what a realistic trip looks like with a child qualifying for DAS (Disney Accessibility Service). I’m also happy to answer any questions on how we used it, tips for ND kids, etc. but I will not be sharing what was said during my daughter’s DAS interview. (IYKYK)

Background:
This is our sixth trip where my daughter qualified for DAS (third since the new system was in place). We only ever go as our little family (daughter, husband, and me) and we double up using Lightning Lane Multi-pass. We also utilize special ticket events to get extra low wait times. To make this all work with our budget, we stay at Pop Century and live that value resort life.

Kiddo is sensory seeking and also has memorized every single imagineering “secret” on the rides (she has memorized every show on rides and imagineering available on Disney+).

Even during this “slow” week, Guardians hit 100, Slinky was down four straight days, weather was a MESS, so we came already prepped that we were going to have to pivot on the fly. We were able to ride what my kiddo wanted, but also had way more early nights than the average family.

Lines:
- If you use DAS, this does not mean you are going to walk straight onto the ride. Look at the queue. If it’s snaking out the door, there’s a good chance that you’re waiting a while. We have about 20 mins MAX (including pre shows). We gave up on Guardians (90 min wait posted) when we walked into the LL queue and it was at the automatic doors. Be realistic on what you/your kiddo can handle.
- Bring tools to help you get through the lines. We have a YOTO player that fits in my daughter’s backpack. We have colouring, rainbow looms, fidgets, and screens that we use. You will use all of them because you will generally wait in that LL for 5-15 mins when in the LL, not including pre shows.

Prepping and listening to your kiddo:
- I know that my kiddo will want to touch all of the railings, climb them, swing on them etc. so we spent a lot of time working on our line etiquette.
- We maxed out at 8 hours in a park per day. When my kiddo was done, we were done. And that meant that we had a good start the next day.
- Whatever you had planned, just toss that plan out the window. Things break down. Rain closes rides. The Skyliner will go offline and you’ll need to bus to CBR and it will shake up your morning.
- Because we are aware that we could be denied for our next trip, we also use the Parks for resilience building. We’ll use Standby for walk ons, and try for wait times that are 20 or less.

Supplementing DAS with LLMP/LLSP
- The combo of DAS + LLMP works for my family. I can get some rides secured and keep her sensory seeking satisfied. DAS still has you waiting for the whole wait time (minus 10 minutes). It doesn’t just propel you to the top of the list.
- Some days, the kiddo only wants to ride something once, other times, we’re doing ToT 5 times in a row. Lucky for us, her favourite rides generally have lower wait times outside of midday peaks (BTMRR, ToT, Mission:Space, Everest) so we try to ride them as much as possible in the morning and then stack our LLMP and use DAS for the afternoon. But seriously, before 11 am, most of these were walk ons or within our tolerance windows.
- My kid loves Tron and GoG. I buy those LLSP. That way I know we’re riding them at least once. I tend to buy these for late morning before the mid day rush.
- MNSSHP was not sold out on the day we went and that was amazing. Some party nights, waits for rides can be ridiculous but even Tron stayed around 15-25 minutes the whole night.

Solid week in the Parks. Some wild LL lines that we had to bail on, but the slow mornings really worked in our favour. This might be our new favourite time to visit. Really think early entry and pre-night show exit might be our best move for the next couple of visits but I’ll take missing Fantasmic and the Starlight Parade if that means having a good start the rolling morning. I’ll watch those on a solo trip or when the kiddo can handle longer days in the parks.

I got the hat pin from my very first mystery bag today! People have been telling me it’s a “Super Chaser,” but I honestly have no idea what that means.

I know it’s rare because I had several people at Epcot trying really hard to trade me for it, but as a new collector, I had no idea what would actually be a fair trade.

I’m mainly looking to collect Disney firefighter or fire department pins. Any advice on how to figure out what this pin is worth trade wise and how to avoid getting taken advantage of as a newbie?

Hi! I’ll be in WDW for Halloween and I heard that there is currently x-men ‘97 merch for sale in Epcot by the Guardians ride. Has anyone seen it recently? I’m wondering if there is enough stock that there’s a good chance it’ll still be there by the time I get there or if it’s already running low. Especially looking for a jacket like the one pictured!

Hi! It will be our first time - we're going to be in Orlando for 6 days and plan on doing 3 park days and 2 days maybe at Universal. I am looking for off-property hotel suggestions that are still nice but not crazy expensive. We will be a family of 4, with two kids 10 years old and 5 years old.

I was thinking of staying on property for 3 days and then moving to a off property resort but I think thats alot of moving around.

We have to do MK which is important becasue we have 2 Bibbidi reservations. I was thinking of staying on property just to get access to MK

Also do you suggest renting a car for getting around the rest of the parks?

I’m dying to do the Christmas Party. I’ve done Jollywood nights and liked it. My stepdaughter has done the college program x2 (and will be doing a 3rd when she graduates!), so I certainly have not been depriving myself of Disney trips the past few years.

However, I have a long weekend right after Thanksgiving, I booked a Disney Springs area hotel months ago “just in case”. The flights aren’t horribly priced right now. I love Disney at Christmas time. We did a family trip for Thanksgiving once before, I absolutely loved it and would do every year…everyone else enjoyed it, but was one and done for them.

Right now, no one else can commit. Would it be wrong to just book by myself, and if others want to join me, they can? Do people do the Christmas parties solo? If anything, I’d maybe do an Epcot day in addition to the Christmas party, or just hang out by the pool. I think my only other worry is that my flight would get into Orlando Late, around 10 PM, so I don’t love the idea of taking an uber by myself that late.

It will be my husband and I’s one year anniversary + babymoon!!

We are looking for quiet and peaceful, and plan to relax around the resort, and do 3 park days.

We are pretty set on either Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness. Just trying to decide which!

Greetings. Not trying to cheat or game the system in any way, but I have a situation that I’m trying to figure out. My wife and I will be going to WDW from December 1-8 and will be getting seven-day park passes. Our son and his girlfriend will be joining us late on the 3rd and will have four-day park passes good from December 4-8. Since my booking windows for dining and lightning lanes will open a few days before theirs, will I be able to include them in some of our plans when my window opens? They are staying in our room with us as registered guests and we’re all linked together in My Disney Experience app. I’m just not sure how much the fact that we have different start dates will affect things, or if having us all linked together as a group will allow me to make reservations for all of us. Hello everyone, I'd like some advice for the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We're taking my grandfather for his 90th birthday in early November.

How should we best prep for this? We asked for wheelchair access when booking, but does anyone know how much of it is outside? And is the headset accommodating for his hearing aids? I'm worried about him being able to hear everything the tour guide is saying clearly, especially if they're a fast talker.

I plan on bringing him a sun umbrella that will attach to his chair and one of those cooling fans that go around your neck. I'd also like to bring him some birthday balloons and attach them to the chair.

He can get up and walk around on his own, and won't need assistance for the restroom, we just need the chair because of how much walking there is. I plan on scoping out the rental in person prior to this because we need it to get him from the parking lot.

Can anyone share their own experience? We should be done for the day before any rain hits. Unless he really wants to stay in the park for fireworks.

A whole group of people had busted out a container of HARD-BOILED EGGS and were just casually munching away in the middle of the enclosed queue. 😭😭

Listen. I like hard-boiled eggs.

But there are certain foods that require situational awareness.

An enclosed Disney World queue with hundreds of strangers trapped behind you is perhaps not the ideal venue to crack open the ol’ Tupperware of sulfur orbs.

What other foods should be absolutely forbidden in a theme park queue? 😂

Super excited for my Disney vacation in October! I'm going with my husband, 14 month old and the grandparents. I wanted to do a nice dinner and snagged reservations for Narcoossee's. I'm really looking forward to it! However, I saw a blog post about how the author would never take their toddler to a signature restaurant at Disney. I was a little surprised to read this. Disney is for families and my 14 month old is wonderfully behaved. No tantrums when we eat out and spends his time watching the other patrons and looking around. He's an absolute angel out in public. What are your thoughts on bringing a baby to dinner at Narcoossee's?

Are the songs on cosmic rewind really completely random?? My wife & I have ridden it 5 times and gotten "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" 4 of them.

Not that I'm complaining, easily my favorite song on the list. But still it seems crazy unlikely.

First ride 1/1 chance of hearing a song

Second ride, 5/6 chance of hearing a different song

Third ride, 2/6 chance of hearing one of the first two songs

Fourth and fifth ride, 1/6 chance of hearing the same song as ride #3

So that's 1 x (5/6) x (1/3) x (1/6) x (1/6)

Which is about 0.8% chance

Not as low as I thought but still pretty unlikely.
