Android Glasses on Android
I recently bought the base Luma glasses, but the experience on Android has been pretty bad. The phone mirrors its own aspect ratio, so the image has black bars and is affected by the screen cutout for the front camera.
I tried changing the phone’s resolution, but that caused issues with gesture navigation and the navigation buttons. As a workaround, I built an app that lets you open apps on the glasses while using your phone for something else. It uses the glasses native resolution, so there are no aspect ratio problems.
Am I missing a simpler solution? I looked in the subreddit but couldn't find one. I assume Samsung DeX offers a better experience, but a full desktop does not seem very useful if you only want to watch a movie or play a game. It makes more sense for productivity tasks.
If anyone is interested in the app, I can share it. I have only tested it with the standard Luma glasses, so it may need some adjustments for other models. I can also share the source code so you can adapt it to your glasses.

Have you tried our free SpaceWalker app yet? We recently released a major update for the Android version, you can get it on Google Play. Samsung owners have also reported great success using DeX with our XR glasses.

You should try the app I made: https://github.com/victor141516/luma-remote/releases/tag/v0.10.47
It allows you to open any app in full screen and use the phone screen as trackpad. So you can use YouTube, Chrome, etc. properly. I also made an integrated small app switcher.

Dex is great. It's a touchscreen mouse instead of just a touch screen but the resolution and aspect ratio are great and best of all you can power off the phones screen without losing the video you're watching. Dex does not work with Spacewalker though so no 3d or 3dof.
