Help Update regarding my issues with my Viture Beasts
An update on my previous post a couple weeks ago about the issues I was having with my brand new Viture Beasts here. I hate to be a bit of a downer but after a couple weeks of waiting on support emails and being very informative as to the issues I was having, steps I took to try fix, etc I am still waiting on a solution to my problem.
Wait times between emails seem very long and last thing I was told was that a firmware update was coming to Spacewalker in the future relaxing some HID requirements. This sounds great because HID issues seem to be my problem, as a HID error shows up on every Windows device I have tried them on (3 devices) but the issues I have happen without using Spacewalker, and regardless of that am I meant to get HID errors all the time???
I replied the same day mentioning this and asking would it fix these non-Spacewalker related problems for me as I don't see how it could and haven't gotten a response in over a week at this point. I even sent a follow up email three days ago reporting that the issue still happened under the new firmware. In fact the video I included was the lovely eyesore I got when I tried them on my laptop after the update so if anything it was even worse π
I have only read good things about the support team but I haven't really gotten anywhere so I am really disappointed. One of the main reasons I bought these was for using on my laptop and it's basically impossible to use at the moment on there unless I am willing to try plugging them in and out a bunch of times in the hopes of having a stable display. Also worth mentioning is if somehow I do stabalise the display I better hope I don't want to fiddle with the settings as that typically messes things up. On my other devices I tested setting switching was my main issue as settings would refuse to change and such.
Hopefully I spoke too soon and things get sorted soon but at the moment I feel disappointed, and like I wasted a good chunk of my money on essentially a paperweight atm.

How have Viture not offered you a rapid replacement?

Not really sure, didn't even get a timeframe for when that update might come out, just wait around π

Update: Interesting turn of events but the glasses seemed to be behaving themselves a tad more since I complained on here a bit more. However towards the end of my use session today I accidentally turned on 3d mode (which seemed to behave okay bar that I wasn't looking at 3d content) but when I switched back it switched back to 60hz too and was having the issues in the video, upon switching back to 120hz everything went back to normal, very strange...
Will have to keep trying them out and keeping an eye on them, they should be able to do 60hz fine with my setup I'd imagine unless some sorta setting is messing things up

I've seen some people mention that a mismatch of refresh rates, like having the Beasts on 120hz while the PC is locking the display to 60hz, will cause issues. I think it happened a lot on some handheld devices that locked to 60hz to conserve battery.
Also I would take supports comment to mean there is a new Beast firmware update coming soon, and you can use spacewalker to install that firmware update. Because spacewalker is software so it recieving a firmware update doesn't make any sense. Lol.

That's what I was thinking that it didn't make any sense but it seemed like from their wording they meant Spacewalker, will have to wait and see... I dunno how a miss-match would really happen of the refresh rates as my laptop seems to switch them to whatever hz I set it to on the glasses

When they work properly somewhat they are great! Thankfully they are way more usable ( the display typically doesn't do this hut can have some setting issues as mentioned before) on the likes of my Xbox Ally X so I can get some gaming in on them and it's amazing but I had bought them also primarily as a Multi-Monitor solution for my laptop as I haven't the space for multiple physical monitors and from what I got to try of the multi screen mode once or twice when they decided to behave was pretty great which makes it all the more disappointing...

Honestly this is just a hardware issue ATP.
These glasses are just screens. Very fancy tiny screens, but still just screens. Like any other screen. They shouldn't need any software/etc to work.
If they freak out like this, flickering spazzing out image, and it persists on two different devices, then it's a hardware issue. Given that you sometimes do get a stable display, my strongest suspicion would be a defective cable, or a defective USB-C DP controller in the headset.
Tldr the device and host slightly adjust voltages and so on, to get a clear signal. This gives a working device enough tolerance for different cables and operating temperatures and signal noises and so on, that you will never need to care about this. But if there's a defect... Then... Oof. The totally borked ones fail QC. The edge cases... Because signal noise is very random, they randomly and unpredictably work/fail.
Tldr tldr software patches miiight mask over this, software/firmware is built to handle signal noise, and it's not impossible for it to be software as the root cause... But with it happening on multiple devices, odds are that Viture needs to replace the headset or cable.
