Legacy Xpression Designer license (8.5), resell able?

As the title says, I'm in possession of an Xpression Designer license dongle with support expired in 2019, so it's locked to version 8.5.

Is this kind of material resellable, as I'm not in the character generation business anymore since a long time?

I imagine so. Being out of date does decrease the value, but it is still absolutely usable. Tricky thing will be figuring out how much you can sell it for…

I'm more interested in how reselling can be seen by Ross, need to have a deep dive in the TOS

I mean, I’ve seen people sell Xpression systems with dongles on eBay enough that I’m sure Ross is aware of it. The only possible issue I could see would be if someone wanted to pay to get it up to date. But it has been long enough that cost to do so is likely pretty close to buying a new dongle/license at this point.

I bet some people on the video engineering discord would have more info too. Including possibly Ross employees.

Reselling is permitted by Ross (if I remember correctly, there are some exceptions, mostly around discounted (ie edu) licenses).
The warranty (if active) is transferable as well.

Officially, you are supposed to notify them of the sale so they can transfer it in their records (and you must in order to transfer warrant), But there generally aren’t consequences of not notifying them.
