I live in a double dorm room but there was no roommate. Honestly I’ve been really enjoying this space to myself this past two weeks. However the University told me hall transfers begin soon and that I could buyout the vacant spot to continue living on my own. Is the buyout worth it? Are many people using the hall transfer? (I’m in La Paz)

Hi I'm a 43 year old student (though people think I often look younger) returning to the uofa after a long absence. I went to school at the uofa 20 years ago but had to quit because of medical issues that got in my way.

Is it weird for a person my age to join clubs on campus when most students are half my age?

I’m already getting so tired of the food at the University of Arizona 😭 I bought a meal plan with around 50 swipes a month, and I usually eat on campus twice a day, but I feel like I’ve been eating the same things over and over again.
Should I keep my meal plan, downgrade it, or try to cancel it? Does anyone know how the cancellation/downgrade process works?
Also, PLEASE give me some actually good on-campus food recommendations that accept meal swipes. What are your favorite places or meals on campus? I desperately need something new to eat 😭

Is anyone having trouble with math 100 w/ prof Katherine Horan? So far, the description of the class is not matching up with what's happening. For example, it's supposed to be a "low stress" class. I am decent in math, and I can't keep up with the homework. Everyday there are new assignments, even on days that I don't even have class including weekends and Labor Day. Is this normal, or did I get a bad professor? I haven't even met her yet, I think she has a T.A. (he didn't introduce himself.) This is my first college class and I guess I was expecting some actual lecture/teaching rather than basically taking an online class. I'm headed to the Think Tank I guess to try and get this homework under control. Also, I have a math support class but it's only once a week. Any tips would be appreciated! I am feeling very overwhelmed.

I have to take organic chem 1 and 2 and biochem at UofA as well as genetics and animal anatomy and physiology once I transfer from Pima. Are the chemistry and biology departments good here?

Thinking of leaving the newish medicine major for physiology. More of my friends are in physiology and my sister says it’s worth it. Any insight is appreciated

Hi! I'm a freshman this year at the U of AZ, and am just wondering how bad is biochemistry? Really? I have a lot of anxiety regarding it already and we're only in the second week of school, but everyone I talk to about my major choice just tells me how hard it is and how much I'll want to drop out—I was even told I'd want to "k—ll myself and should bc there's no way I'll finish that major".

For some background, I also know my first year is already a LOT different than other freshman. In my last 2 years of highschool, I took Dual Enrollment courses which led me to enter with 28 college credits already, so, after December I'll be considered a Sophomore already, even if I'm not really.

I'd like to go to medical school and become an anesthesiologist, or a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation(if anesthesia doesn't work) or a Family Medicine Physician(if the previous two fail).

My counselor told me I'm basically guaranteed to graduate in 3-3.5 years but I'm not too worried about that.

I'm mainly curious about how "bad" are the classes?

Should I give up now and switch majors?

The classes don't seem too bad yet but I'm really scared thanks to the fear mongering.

I recently paid my tuition with my credit card and I was charged a 4.5% fee by Nelnet (the platform UA uses to process payments.) The 4.5% fee is for international cards... but I have a U.S.-issued card.

Has this happened to anyone else? Why did this happen?

I'll contact Nelnet when their customer service opens again on Monday. This is so frustrating... Feels scammy.

Is anybody else finding it impossible to rely on the streetcar as transportation to and from the U of A? I've experienced and heard of impossibly long delays. It has affected my family if not every day, then most days this week and seems way worse than last year. Asking for them and for research purposes. Trying to figure out what's going on.

Can we switch advisors in the same major? I like my advisor but a friend really likes his advisor and talks about all of the things he gets when they meet.

Also, is it common for students to change majors because the advisors are better? I want to apply to HEAP too.
