digital annotation apps

i’m going into my masters program and looking for recommendations for an app where i can import files, organize citations and annotate those files.

during my undergrad, i used zotero and it worked for managing assigned readings and for my own personal research but i want to try other apps to find something that’d work better for me.

note: i have a macbook so it’d have to be compatible with that.
