That's so genius because no-one would think to steal your phone!

u/J3musu 5d ago

I remember getting one of those phone case wallets and promptly realizing how stupid it was. Oh good, now I can lose it all in one swipe. Why did I buy this?

u/sudeki300 5d ago

This is my thinking, when I see people with their debit / credit card in the phone case, why would you keep it altogether. This is why I've never had a wallet, lose it and everything is lost.

u/shortfinal 4d ago

I keep it all together to increase its importance and make sure it goes with me everywhere. it also forces me to make choices about what's important in my everyday and what's not. I carry what's important on me. I don't set it down. I don't walk away from it.

I know people who lose their most basic shit all the time, including phones, because they juggle a purse, phone, and a dozen other "I might need that while I'm out" no you don't. that's what your house is for: keeping all the other shit you use.

Last thing I lost was my keys, and only because I was out and took them off my hip at a friends house. I've lost my phone with my ID exactly zero times.

It's not about just losing your phone, its also about theft which can happen right out of your hand. Id rather keep things separate, but im glad it works for you.

u/shortfinal 4d ago

That's true. I've had friends nodding off with their phone in their hand on the NY subway and I'm like. you want your shit yanked?

I'm vigilant about my surroundings, people coming up behind me, in tight places. this isn't hard in America, but Americans are lazy.

Hard mode is India. you'll cheat death to hop the subway and wear your backpack on your chest to keep your shit close.

they carry everything in one bag there too.

u/sudeki300 4d ago

Totally understand what you're saying, don't keep nothing I don't want to lose in my bag, if they want a stale sandwich leftover from lunch they're welcome to it. Some people are oblivious to what is happening around them. Stay safe and look after yourself

The phone is the debit card now. Everything is a app these days.

u/sudeki300 3d ago

Even so, people still carry their cards around in their phone case and have google pay / apple pay on their phone

u/jaredgoff1022 5d ago

Because it’s easier to remember one thing than multiple things?

u/LemonKurry 5d ago

This is why I keep all my keys separate in different pockets! So I only loose one at the time

u/ScreamSmart 5d ago

It's for backup. Somep eople keep cash in there incase you lose your wallet.

u/ScreamSmart 5d ago

He just did it for a pun.

u/samdevil7 5d ago

Absolutely unexpected when he switched it on

That screen was so crisp I actually had to double check if I was still watching the same video. Usually these posts end with something breaking, but this was actually impressive. Good bait.

u/Ornery_Gate_6847 5d ago

Haven't seen a payphone in years

u/ScreamSmart 5d ago

You got another pun out of it. It's originally a pun on a online payment app called 'PhonePe' which itself is a pun "On the phone" in Hindi and "Phone Pay" in English.

u/SpecialNeeds963 5d ago

Super hard to leave the matrix these days.

u/marcandreewolf 5d ago

So… he paid by phone? 😅

u/hosayboh 5d ago

Via apple wallet

u/marcandreewolf 5d ago

Yes, or Visa

u/ScreamSmart 5d ago

It's a pun based on a payment app called 'PhonePe'. The Hindi translation is "On the phone" and in English it sounds like 'Phone Pay'

u/lcssa 5d ago

Thats not broken, its just missing its double sided tape strip

probably changed the screen at some point, didn't apply new adhesive and decided to have fun with it. why not. it's all fun and games until they do this bit again and the screens flips out too much and rips the ribbon cable. shouldn't happen, but can happen

unless the screen is already missing or is peeling apart.

not that i would have any experience with that. it's not like i have a redmi note 8t with a missing filter thing near the lcd connector that i launched in the stratosphere somehow, so i can only use it with teamviewer. got no idea how to fix that. works perfectly fine otherwise

u/RadlogLutar 5d ago

Okay this was unexpected

u/pug_userita 5d ago

some might say.... the front fell off.

and with that, ladies, gentlemen and cyborgs, i'm out

u/Western_Marsupial289 5d ago

This is the most unexpected shi I was ever seen

u/KindsofKindness 5d ago

how the…

u/pug_userita 5d ago

no glue on the screen. it's connected at the bottom by a thin (and fragile) flat cable (aka ribbon cable) so it can flip like that

u/Imbendo 5d ago

Some people still carry paper money

u/taheromar 4d ago

JerryRigEverything is impressed

u/Ixm01ws6 5d ago

Apple Pay
