I've been working in product design for around 7 years now. I'm confident in my skills and workflows, which I keep developing alongside new tools and tech that's coming out.

Figma use completely changed for me since Claude Code and Figma's usefigma MCP functionality came out. Sometimes I even skip Figma completely when I'm doing the initial prototype... It has boosted my productivity by several orders of magnitude. Nowadays I vibecode my designs directly to produduction and go straight to testing.

I do have a bit of a techy background, before I finished my BSc in media and graphical engineering I studied computer engineering for some time and then switched. I do understand how to approach actually building out products and what's important in a product development life cycle. I understand programming concepts and orientate well around all the tools involved, especially since LLMs got so good at everything. I wouldn't call myself a dev, far from it, but AI has really allowed me to basically skip the "get better at coding" part and just use AI to do that for me.

I'm not sure what to call myself anymore, I try to sell myself as a Senior Product Designer, but since my last role I can't seem to find any work anymore. That was never an issue for me and it's frustrating because I don't know what else to do anymore.

I've applied to 400+ positions (moslty remote in fintech, tech and web3) and got 5 interviews, 2 of them with the companies direclty and the rest with recruiters. I haven't heard back from any of them after the initial interview.

I always got work by referrals, so I never really had to do interviews or look for jobs. I'm getting a hint that maybe I'm not selling myself correctly with my portfolio or in the interviews. I tried getting work from referrals again before going into it manually, but I wasn't successful this time, probably because of the oversaturated market and founders using AI tools themselves to build products.

I spent a lot od time building my portfolio to really stand out, I got this idea to make my portfolio look like Figma on a hike one day and I challenged myself to build it. I did, and it turned out great (at least for me and to the friends who I showed), but I'm second guessing it because I'm not landing any interviews. I did install Posthog on it, which I use normally to collect useage data from the projects I work on and do iterations. There are people viewing it, doesn't seem like there would be a particular drop-off point anywhere.

Looking for advice and how you guys are experiencing these things in this day and age.

Do you know who's actually looked at it, or do you just send it out and hope?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

It feels like we've gotten incredibly good at making technology faster, smarter, and more capable. But sometimes I wonder if we've become so focused on what technology can do that we've stopped thinking about how it actually feels to use.

Especially with AI.

A lot of AI interfaces seem to be converging on the same patterns: chat box, prompt, response, repeat. They're incredibly powerful, but I'm not sure "powerful" automatically means "good experience."

I keep coming back to a simple question:

What should technology actually feel like?

I'm curious what other designers think. What makes a piece of technology feel genuinely human to you?

I am founder and designed my enter mobile app design with help of Claude.

The primary reason to chose that while I start the project I am not much clear about exactly I want mobile apps like list of functions, charts and metrics and I don't have enough budget to hire a decent UI/UX designer from the Market.

I derived the functions and designs after several changes. Finally the app has shape.

But when I look back my own app even it solve the problem which I need, I keep feel that somehow it missing something. Personally it didn't make me feel as a trustable and decent mobile app. When I went though lot of apps in mobbin and made some fine-tune. Unfortunately, I am getting same feel.

I couldn't understand why it make me feel either I am looking the screen more often or technically it missing somethings.

I am 100% sure that I am lagging the the required skills which I couldn't build with AI. That's why I cam here and looking help from someone to help me understand what I am missing in this design.

I've built an interval timer app for fun and personal use.

I have no professional experience in UX, the UI is mostly from google's stitch.

Hey guys, I'm a new UI/UX designer and I'm working on a personal project right now. I want to design a bagel website with a youthful vibe, something that feels modern and is mainly aimed at a younger audience. I'm kinda stuck with the direction of the website and how I should arrange everything.
