People have been left unsurprised by the way Donald Trump addressed record-high oil prices in the US.

US president Trump’s rampant Truth Social sprees in recent days have covered a range of topics: him dominating Canada’s prime minister Mark Carney, proposing controversial Space Force uniforms and declaring the Moon as US territory.

Notably, one thing missing from the unhinged posts is perhaps the thing most pertinent that is facing everyday Americans: gas prices. Thanks to Trump’s now seven-month long Iran war, gas prices reached a record-high over Labor Day weekend.

When Trump finally did address it, he did so in typical fashion by making bold claims about all the apparent positives the future will bring.

Video of a Michigan deputy shoving a Black father with his hands raised is getting attention online. The man’s head appears to come dangerously close to the curb as the deputy tells him, “I’m going to f—k you up, bro.”

Not gonna lie, I had to double check this wasn't satire. Apparently both parties are pouring millions into campaign ads this season attacking AI data center expansion, and it's happening while regular people keep protesting these facilities in their neighborhoods. There was even a whole protest in New Port Richey, Florida over it.

Like when's the last time you saw Dems and Republicans agree on literally anything? And now suddenly it's "we hate AI data centers" from both sides lol.

I get why people are mad — these things eat up insane amounts of electricity and water, property values near them apparently take a hit, and normal residents feel like nobody asked them before building a massive server farm next to their house.

But also... don't we need this infrastructure if AI is going to keep growing the way it is? Feels like a classic "not in my backyard" situation more than an actual policy stance, but I could be wrong.

Genuinely curious what people think:

• Is this bipartisan anger actually about the environment/community impact, or is it just election-year theater?
• Would you personally be okay with a data center being built near your neighborhood if it meant more local jobs?
• Do you think this "both sides agree" thing will actually lead to real regulation, or is it just noise till November?
