Found this Cooksville brick fragment washed up along the Etobicoke shore. I did some research and found out that the were manufactured in Mississauga (Dundas & Mavis) roughly between the 1920s and 1940s, and that these pressed shale bricks built much of Toronto before demolition rubble was reused for waterfront erosion control. Super cool piece of local GTA history just sitting on the rocks.

My first time watching. We were at Sunnyside Beach and it was great! People were happy and excited. What a great end of summer. The CP-140 Aurora moment was great!

I was outside Krispie Kreme Dundas and Church and a homeless lady asked me for some change and I was sad that I couldn't give her and and 2 mins later a guy walked in with her and bought her a pack of 6🥹
God bless you sir, we need more people like you.

Decided to walk to Biidasige Park today but never made it because of the many detours we took.
Stopped by Alan Gardens to visit the lovely greenhouse - it’s well known but still kind of a hidden gem!
Then watched a local basketball game - there was some fun commentary, banter and trash talking, and good smelling hot dogs and burgers there.
Finally stumbled upon the Toronto Country Fest at Distillery district - had no idea this was going on, and the vibes, music (and gelato) were immaculate!
A 10/10 day. Will try to go to Biidasige tomorrow lol.

Spent the day at Peter Street Basin with Steve Mann and a crew of U of T students, clearing out what the Sept 2 storm left behind.
Six hours of raking sticks, weeds and bottles out of the water. Steve started Friends of Peter Street Basin and has been at this a long time, good day to be useful.

I saw this guy this morning when I was walking to the subway. He was chill but cautious and very healthy. He just wanted to cross the path so I let him. I was taking a photo of the sunrise when I saw him.

Since CNE is wrapping up for the year thought I’d share some of my favourite sets I caught at the Bandshell.
In photo order: Zeds Dead, Bif Naked, Bran Van 3000, Industry Plants, Lights
Did anyone else catch concerts at the Bandshell this year? There were so many more I wish I could’ve made it to. Would love to hear about some of the other shows that I missed!
