In MNMS, Stanley (voiced by Jay Johnston, who ironically was also on Mr. Show), gets his legs cut off to go undercover disguised as a child at his son Tommy’s school. Which is near identical to what happens in TGTTM S2E14, “Undercover,” where Tom does the same thing. I know both series are Cartoon Network shows but I swore there had to be some sort of overlap between the creators or production team to share such a specific episode plot. Apparently there isn’t though. So I assume Sheriff doing the same storyline must have been an homage.

I watched TGTTM three years after MNMS and was very interested to see this incredibly bizarre concept repeated.

This may just be 100% coincidence, but by any chance could this have had any inspiration from a 1980’s surrealist short film called Tom Goes To The Bar?
