All of these "doing X for gifts" types of tiktok lives are pre-recorded to an extent and I can't tell if all of the gifts are just from people being fooled or the creators themselves trying to kickstart others similar to how scammers in person will have their friends "win" at a game to lure others in.

I feel like at this point you could just play an entirely recorded video acting like you're live and use third-party software beforehand to edit in a shit load of gifts to make it look like everyone is giving money and then the real gifts just go into the backend.

There's no cases involved people being trafficked and forced to dance online for 6 hours (if you actually repeat that it sounds dumb). But there are Chinese game shows that do this. And influencers could be tied up in contracts that could penalize them financially, though, they still can stop anytime they want

Edit: when you think about it. Most people work 8 to 12 hours a day in a shit job they don't like. If you got the health and energy to dance for 4 to 6 hours and make 10x what Joe Shcmo would make mopping floors, then more power to you

The chinese economy is not doing well so people just try to find any job and will do pretty much anything to keep it. In these group livestreams they often have to work long hours, get paid almost nothing, often are pressured into personally relationships with large donators, etc. If they ask for better working conditions they are fired since with filters there are many qualified and willing people to take their place.
