The Sathorn Unique Tower (abandoned one front and center in the 2nd pic) was already there, it's just hidden by the stairs as the angle of the shot is different.

Same as the Kasikorn building (the one with a slanted diamond shaped roof at the far left side).

Oh nice catch! I see they just positioned it behind!

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 13 '25

Yeah! I actually looked this up after the pic b/c I knew that building was old! (started construction in 1990!)

Seems visible actually past the step below the middle guy's feet.

Yes exactly -- it definitely could have been mostly cropped out with this angle!

That's very interesting, wonder what other shots from movies of the skyline you could compare with today. Also impressive effort matching the clothes.

Thanks! We got super lucky with the cloud cover too!

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 14 '25

Thanks so much! The view up there is actually stunning too..

u/NatJi Aug 13 '25

I think the angle is off

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 13 '25

Yep! It's off just a little bit -- I know now so hopefully I can go back for the 20th anniversary :)

Nice share and interesting indeed.

If the camera was pointed another way it would have been a bigger difference. Will be fun to see in another 14 years.

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 13 '25

Yeah! I wish I could have angled Sathorn Unique out of it -- I'll remember this for the 20th anniversary ;)

u/heirsasquatch Aug 14 '25

Were the trees added in after the scene in the movie or what?

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 15 '25

I guess so! Good catch and I didn't look to see how they're positioned! I'll remember this for next time.

That’s actually cool lmaooo. I wish my friends would agree to visit Thailand with me and complete this legendary assignment 😭

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 18 '25

Thank you! Bangkok is actually one of my top cities out of all of the places I've traveled!

Nice -- I think we matched the attire and poses a little better though!

u/phereless Aug 13 '25

Ha, nicely done

u/dkg224 Aug 13 '25

How did you get Bradly cooper to do the photo with you guys too? That’s crazy

u/IncomeBoss Chiang Mai Aug 13 '25

He looked like Liam Neeson from Taken

Tourism and travel related questions should be posted to the dedicated subreddit /r/thailandtourism.

Yeah but now I no longer wake up in BKK

u/pudgimelon Aug 13 '25

u/HomelessByCh01ce Aug 14 '25

Thanks we had a lot of fun doing it!

This sub doesn’t need this corny picture to be posted every week.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and give this post more traction instead of just continuing to scroll my friend.
