Please help

So I’m pretty sure my wisdom teeth are beginning to come through, I knew it would happen soon. But basically I went to the dentist, where I live for uni, a couple of months ago for a root canal on my first back molar and they took X-rays. The dentist pointed out that my wisdom teeth would be showing up soon and that they were growing at a bad angle, sideways so they would push against my molars. I said to him that I’d always had trouble with having too little space in my mouth for my teeth which stemmed a lot of my dental problems so my mouth wouldn’t be able to accommodate wisdom teeth anyway and requested the possibility of a preemptive/preventative removal appointment both for space and because of the angling in the gums because I knew it would be an issue. He said no and said that we’d just cross that bridge when it comes to it.

Fast forward to late Friday last week, while I’m still at home in a different part of the country for summer, I notice the back of my mouth is really achy around the gums and my cheek is a bit swollen, I look and see that the part of my gum at the top back of my left side is swollen, white tinted and painful and feels like pressure, so I look it up and it came up with my wisdom teeth coming though. And it’s just gotten worse and worse, smiling hurts, chewing hurts, that side of my face is a bit puffy, pain meds aren’t working, it’s throbbing, my head and ears hurt and I’ve been feeling really ill and tired and it hurts to open my mouth. I tried to contact my dentist for an appointment when I’m back which is next week but between the time of that appointment and whenever I could get removal, could be upwards of two weeks and I can’t deal with this for that long and they also haven’t gotten back to me. My only two options right now because the pain is really bad is to go to my old dentist in my hometown and see what they can do or try the emergency dental part of NHS 24 (I’m in Scotland) and see if this is grounds for same day removal. So I’m really not sure what to do, I attached some attempted pictures of the specific part of my mouth but idk if it’s noticeable in pictures as it is irl or if they’re any help.

Hi, I don't know if this is the correct subreddit to post this but it seems to me like the best choice. I'm 19F, and due to some neglect in my childhood + drinking soda practically constantly throughout my childhood, I keep getting cavities. I went to the dentist for the first time at 18 and had to get a huge cavity fixed first appointment, and I'm always afraid they're gonna find more. I've had like 5 cavities fixed in the past year and a half. How do you frequent cavity havers deal with having cavities mentally? I feel like it impacts my mental health a lot when I constantly worry about this.

For years, I begged the dentist not to fix my teeth anymore but simply to pull them out—and he did. By now, I’m down to just nine teeth; there were still 15 in that photo. I’ve been through a years-long dental odyssey, and I just want to finally get my implants and have some peace of mind regarding my teeth.

Basically i noticed i can not hit both canines on one side and on the other side i can and this is weird can smn help

On a throwaway account because im a bit embarrassed, Ive had a history with smoking, vomiting and a lot of depressive episodes where hygiene wasnt a priority and Ive been trying to get better as time went on but I feel like the damage is already done, can I get an honest answer and maybe a recommendation of what I can do to atleast keep it from getting worse... thank you everyone in this community for letting me share this.

I got my braces off five months ago after 3 years of treatment. I was told that I should wear my retainer 24/7 but, I kept on choking on my bottom retainer and decided to opt for wearing it at night only. Recently, I left for a 4 day trip and realized I brought an empty retainer case. I can already feel my overbite coming back after 2 days. Is it going to be fine if I pop the retainer back in? Will it reverse any and all damage?

i’ve seen people go to the dentist and need teeth removed even though they had perfect teeth and it has made me nervous for my next appointment because i’m looking into getting braces and composite bonding on my peg lateral. my bottom set of teeth are nice and straight my top teeth are okay too it’s just only the front 4 teeth that have a bit of gap. my front top two teeth also come out a slight bit but not too much. when i went to the free dentist they didn’t tell me that any teeth had to be removed and only removed a baby tooth that was coming out the side of my mouth which was fine but maybe my other dentist will think differently? idk share your thoughts! hopefully u don’t think this is stupid (ur girl is just scared 😭😭)

Hi there! I’ll be getting some bonding and gum contouring in the next few weeks and I’m super excited! My teeth aren’t particularly bad by any means but they are small and I am super conscious of it. I notice that when I speak/laugh/smile I automatically try to cover my teeth or contort my mouth to cover them. It does bother me quite a lot.

Obviously it makes a difference and will boost confidence. But those who have gotten this done, how did this change your life? How you interact with people, how conscious you are about it etc?

When I was a child my mum never took me to the dentist and when I became a adult sometimes my teeth hurt when I eat sweet foods and drink Starbucks Frappuccino and I didn’t get sense to see a dentist and now I’m dealing with enamel erosion and cavities and my teeth have become ugly and it sucks because i should have prevent these problems if I had just gone but now I’m broke

If a person were to put on 5% hydrogen peroxide strips overnight what would happen? Would the teeth get much whiter but also a lot of sensitivity? Or is it so that these strips only work over time and how can i whiten my teeth the fastest?
