Social Life M21 (Local, Student) Looking for friends for long-term communication to practice English

Upvotes

Hi everyone. Recently i have decided seriously to improve my speaking skills in English. I have already been looking for people from other sources, but still i want to find someone from here. I can offer help with the Georgian. And i know Russian as well. I help you with some questions about life here and Georgia in general. I mostly communicate with foreigners online but it's pretty difficult, at the very least, very different time zones.

We can just talk, play something together (I can suggest some games or download yours) Watch some movies and just spend time together. I don't mind who are you and how old you are. I would be happy to any communication.

Something about me: I'm student of TSU. Programmer (Web Developer). My hobbies are a gym, voice acting, PC games, communicating with people and etc.

Just in case: I won't ask you out, especially at first. I'm not looking for a dating. My main goal is to practice (chatting online is more than enough). If we get along well, of course I wouldn't mind meeting up.

If you're interested, write me DM, or reply in the comments, and I'll message you myself.

Thinking of opening a South Indian place in Tbilisi — is there actually demand, or am I kidding myself?

Upvotes

Hi all. I'm from Chennai and I've been seriously considering moving to Tbilisi to open a small Indian restaurant. Before I do anything expensive or stupid, I'd rather hear from people who actually live there.

I've noticed almost all the Indian food in Tbilisi is North Indian — butter chicken, tikka masala, biryani, naan. What I cook is South Indian: dosa, idli, sambar, coconut chutney, Chettinad-style curries. Different food entirely, lighter, mostly rice-based, and a lot of it is naturally vegetarian.

A few things I'd genuinely like to know:

•Have you eaten Indian food in Tbilisi, and if so, what did you think of it?
•Is there anything you wish existed and doesn't?
•Would something like a dosa place actually interest you, or is that too unfamiliar for most people here?
•Which parts of the city do you think are underserved for food in general?
•Roughly what would you expect to pay for a proper sit-down meal like this?

I'm not launching anything soon and I'm not trying to promote a business that doesn't exist. I'm at the stage of finding out whether this is a real idea or just a nice daydream. Honest discouragement is as useful to me as encouragement, so please don't soften it.

Thanks for reading.

Question A question

Upvotes

I'm assuming a lot of you on this sub are indians. In Georgia, it's a pretty known fact that Georgian education isn't doing well, at all. It's considered to be really bad instead. So despite the usual "it's cheaper" argument, how do so many foreigners decide to come here to learn still? Is Georgia considered to have a "good ed system" in India? Is it an advantage in the recruiment process if you mention the country's name? How does this work?

Roommate wanted

Upvotes

m24 here , I'm looking for a roommate (m or f ) , I'm desperate for a roommate , my roommate is planning to move in with other people by the end of September and I'm stuck to either find a new apartment alone (which I don't have the budget for) or to lease my current apartment for another 6 months

Rn I'm currently paying 400$ for a 2BHK in 8 guram panjikidze , near the medical metro , the apartment is a bit old but it's 400$ for a 2bhk (200$/person)

If anyone plans to move in they will have their own bedroom and the hall is spacious is well, there's a kitchen as well with a balcony

I'm in dire need so please contact me if you're interested

Want to make international friends

Upvotes

hi, i'm 18 year old girl, local, and i wanna make new friends, like if anyone's from USA or British, i've never seen american or british teenagers here, or any european ones either. i'm also gonna be starting freshman year at IBSU [Eng taught psychology]by the end of the month, so if anyone wants to be friends dm on insta, i'm only looking for female friends, username's ellybellyboh. oh, and i'm a lesbian, so if you're homophobic then we won't get along. Are there any international queer girls here anyway? i feel like no one would come here, idk. i'm kinda awkard at first and have trouble making friends irl so i thought maybe this will be easier. if anyones interested tell mee

CIU second tuition payment before student visa

Upvotes

is anyone going through the same thing i’m currently going through?

i first enrolled at ciu and paid the first tuition installment and i already received my ministry approval

the lawyer i’m working with to make sure all my documents are legal and properly processed is telling me that i need to pay the second tuition installment

he has already applied for an appointment for me at the Georgian embassy in the country where i currently live so i can get my student visa but apparently i need to pay the second installment first

i’ve always understood that you only pay the first semester’s tuition at the beginning and then pay the second semester’s tuition at the end of the first semester or smt but not at once

has anyone been in the same situation or knows how CIUhandles this?or do i really need to pay it or just can pay it later like everyone else

Accommodation Looking for a Muslim female roommate near SEU – $200/month

Upvotes

Hi! I’m an incoming female Medicine student at SEU and I’m looking for a Muslim female roommate to share a room with me.

I already have a place near SEU that my family found, and the rent would be around $200 per person per month if we share.

I’m looking for someone clean, respectful and friendly, preferably another student. If you’re interested or want more details about the place, feel free to DM me! 🤍
