Same and I was confused by the wording "background check for men". I thought the women were funding some doxxing platform. Then I realized it was Lindsay Clancy in the photo.
If this was like a couple years down the road, the joke would land. When something like this is still very relevant and in the media, people are going to rage.
Uh she was sad and not âVibingâ with them. Sure she could have easily checked herself in, but before her elaborate murder plot she told people she was sad.
This entire Lindsay Clancy thing is just pure algorithm spin, itâs almost funny at this point. Itâs kind of a good litmus test to see who still thinks critically and who just absorbs their right wing social media feed and regurgitates it
I maintain it wouldnât be talked about at all beyond a few posts if she had successfully committed suicide. Itâs tragic, but there are multiple tragedies of this scale every week.
In my opinion, I think it's the fact that people hear "not guilty" and think that the 11 jurors who voted that way are releasing her to the streets, which takes like 3 seconds to determine thats clearly not the case.Â
Additionally, and what I think is important, is that Massachusetts state law puts the onus for the insanity plea on the prosecution rather than the defense, which is likely why the verdict went the way it did (I'm not 100% sure on this, just taking a stab).Â
The situation is more nuanced than "hurr durr mom is evil and killed her kids give her life in prison." Or "hurr durr that 1 juror is a hero/chad standing for what he believes in." The prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was either not suffering some form of post partum psychosis or the help she received was legally sufficient (or something along those lines, I'm not entirely certain on that).Â
I think social media being so rampant has caused us to have an empathy problem as people. If she was suffering from a psychosis, eventually (hopefully) with proper help she can get mentally better, but then has to live with the fact that she murdered her children, which will undoubtedly cause another slew of mental health issues. It's really sad, and I think the people who can't understand that are really gross.Â
My empathy goes out the window when her supporters blame her husband and care more about her than the 3 kids who are dead.
It was a hung jury for several days, which means that there was more than 1 person who disagreed and the others were forced or harassed to agree with them. The fact that the one man was publicly shamed by her defence is unprofessional and breach of jury confidentiality by disclosing their gender. Someone took a picture of the jury so their life is potentially at risk
She isnât Andrea Yates. Her husband supported her, they had a nanny, she had the best care available, took time of work and every advantage Andrea Yates didnât. Lindsay didnât have a history of psychosis or bi polar disorder. Her therapist didnât believe she had psychosis nor did she disclose it. Her husband was never even told she should be left alone. SHE told him to go to cvs and googled the distance a week before.
It wasnât proven if she had psychosis or not. Multiple doctors treating her and her own therapist testified that she didnât have those symptoms and especially how she said she only heard the voices once
It's a little odd you basically posted the same comment twice.
As I said, in Massachusetts the onus is on the prosecution not the defense. You said it yourself, it wasn't proven she had psychosis or not. So in that regard, you agree the jury must treat it as if she does.Â
Whether or not that's appropriate is a different story, but for the laws in place that's what it is.
I don't mean to insult but I feel like it's intentional at this point.Â
The onus is on the prosecution. You said yourself in more than one comment that it cannot be 100% sure. Ergo, we the jury must move forward indicating she was suffering from psychosis.Â
You're getting really caught on the one part of the trial that ISN'T nuanced.Â
Right. Thatâs all up for conversation. But my biggest issue is 1) people confusing all postpartum mental illness with postpartum psychosis. Those can be very different things. And 2) do people think she walks free with the mistrial or itâs found to be due to insanity? She will be locked up regardless. The real debate is if she should be locked up in a psychiatric hospital or in prison. I donât even understand why itâs that controversial outside of right-wingers misunderstanding almost everything about the case.
I know theyâre different. Several doctors testified that she didnât have that though.
Itâs controversial because of psychosis. Misunderstanding on both sidesđââď¸ left wingers who think her husband did it and those who donât think psychical hospital is just punishment and that sheâll walk after 6 months. I think itâs pushback for left wing and misandry stuff like man vs bear me too demonising men as violent rapists where women canât feel safe around. They see a woman who canât keep her children safe and canât be trusted around them.
I didnât vote for trump. What innocent people? You mean in Iran? Women bad? Are you kidding me? All women do is say men bad and choosing the bear. So many women blamed her husband when the trial had nothing to do with him and he supported her throughout
My empathy goes out the window when her supporters blame her husband and care more about her than the 3 kids who are dead.

I do agree that the media attention and worldwide publicity doesnât help and doesnât by right wing and men to push back against women. Then again so it man vs bear argument, which went widespread when it shouldnât have. Both sides have used examples to start a gender war even now women still think her husband did it.
And that's your prerogative to believe what you want to believe. I'm more inclined to side with the people who heard all of the evidence and in an 11-1 verdict came out another way, that she was in fact suffering deeply from a psychosis.Â
More importantly, psychosis doesn't really care about how much support you have. The only reason the support matters is to determine if it was legally sufficient, which again, isn't up for me to decide. It's up to the jury who get 100% of the information provided to them.Â
I think its weird to lose empathy for someone because people who support that person do something bad (blame the husband) - it isn't like that is their doing. But again, that's your prerogative. I simply think that the situation is more nuanced than it's being made to be.Â
Multiple people including her own therapist said she wasnât suffering from psychosis though and it was a hung jury and they have the legal right to their opinion not being bullied by the other 10 who wanted to leave
She was in best mental hospital on the country and they didnât suspect she had psychosis. The evidence was contradictory that fact it took days to deliberate shows that it wasnât 100% proof
Well it isnât. Sheâs a figure for a gender war on both sides. The man vs bear was also more nuanced as well but that was just black and white gender war vent for memes on both sides of political spectrum. Can we at least agree it shouldnât have gotten the worldwide attention and shouldâve stayed in the state
Maybe because I just woke up, but I don't understand what any of this means. To me right now it's just a bunch of words put together but don't tell me anything. Some super illiterate motherfuckers write like they're 4 and just learned to speak.
Not sure about this GoFundMe, but there was a GoFundMe set up on behalf of her parents, to offset the costs of them supporting her by quitting their jobs, relocating to MA and attending her trial. idk why these costs would stretch into the six figures. Or why i or anyone else should be supporting her parents. Yes, it's unfortunate they've had to tap into their 401ks but i can find more deserving receipients of my limited charity.
Who is the next crazy woman from Massachusetts that will be on trial for murder. Massachusetts Woman is the New Florida Man.
So is this the women putting together a red flag list, they offering to put themselves in a list, is it about those that did or didnât support the defendant. Idk but I just deleted all my accounts and am locked in an attic waiting for the coast to clear.
Legal fees, the gofundme was set up by her parents. I hate what her daughter did and her kids deserve better but Lindseyâs parents donât deserve to go broke because of their evil daughter.

The title and comment in the image is confusing AF. And why do you need gofundme
