"ICE is cutting open people's stomachs!!!!!!"
The Guardian reported on force feedings in ICE detention centers for detainees literally starving themselves to death, and apparently taking medical intervention to save the lives of Cuban illegals is now "Nazi shit."
They didn't even use the procedure he's talking about (percutaneous gastric endoscopy or PEG). Even if they had, the patient would have been sedated, and it would be performed by a doctor just like any other force feeding. But I guess it's "literally torture" to sedate a patient and perform life saving surgery on them.
These people's brains are so fried it's unbelievable, and I don't even like DHS

I guess it's too much to ask people to actually read an article before posting an opinion on it.
From the article this seems to be referencing:
Court orders from the southern district of Texas federal court seen by the Guardian suggest ICE followed through with force-feeding via a nasal tube on the Cuban man in August, since agency officials successfully requested this week that the court order be extended.
This has has been the standard procedure since 1909 for any inmate, regardless of who's holding them, that goes on a hunger strike.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the parent agency of ICE, said on Thursday evening the man had “resumed eating and drinking again” and was not being force-fed. The DHS did not answer whether the man had broken his hunger strike this week after the latest court order, or how many times he had been force-fed prior.
The new order had given ICE permission to operate on him to fit a surgical feeding tube without his consent.
This is explicitly stating that ICE had legal permission to do something that they never had to do. As such, It would seem as though this guy is spewing made up bullshit about ICE cutting open people's stomachs.
At this point I think the positives of suing content creators (who tell dangerous lies like this) back into the stone age far outweighs the negatives. IMO, they should also be charged as accessories to any and all crimes that may be committed as result of said lies as well. People shouldn't feel like they can tell lies that can get people hurt or killed without the risk of severe legal consequences fucking up their own lives.

Yeah, but be careful about that. Remember that anti-masking and questioning the vaccines during COVID was seen as "misinformation".
I understand where you're going, unfortunately, this is a "can't just protect the speech you agree with" situation. Except of course for Alex Jones (a case I still find to be lawfare and not a ruling with actual merit).

Update: I was banned for this comment
If a judge signs an order saying that you can then yes, you can. The issue isn't the man wanting to die, it's that he's in a facility where allowing that death would be tantamount to negligent homicide. If you try to hang yourself in a jail cell, the police are obligated to stop you.
Sorry that I'm against just letting people kill themselves. Probably should have known that would be a hot take here
Guess I pissed off a mod who's now pro-letting Cubans kill themselves lmao

Isn’t Cuba a communist paradise? Why would anyone immigrate to the US from such a wonderful place?

"They're coming from shithole countries."
"How dare you! Those countries are paradises!"
"We're sending them all back."
"How could you do that? Those countries are all hell on Earth!"

If they force feed him to save his life, they’re Nazis. If they let them die from starvation, they’re Nazis. I also don’t agree with the actions of DHS in this administration but the pure brain dead takes I keep hearing are not helping anything

So do they want people dying in ICE custody or not? Gotta make up their damn minds

There would be a “righteous cause” for them to incessantly prattle about regardless. These expletives being dead from self imposed starvation looks worse. It’s about the better option, this process won’t lead to deaths that can then be weaponized by people who would give as much of a shit as they did when Biden was in. Suddenly the “literally concentration camps” headlines went away the moment he took office. Though the detention programs changed little, if at all.

Huh? That makes no sense. He can be fed through a tube (wildly uncomfortable) for cis an IV and just let his stomach die. They probably went with the tube.
Why on earth would you cut someone open just to * feed them through their healing* stomach? Don’t doctors say don’t eat a lot or at all when it’s healing?

How do we know what goes on in detention centers? We don’t. We have no idea what ICE is doing in these private prisons scattered around the country. We do know what kind of people would love to work in a place without oversight, with no protection for the victims, with access to a pool of people with no ability to fight back, though, don’t we? One day we will be held accountable for what we are allowing to happen. This is our fault as Americans. None of us will ever be able to say they didn’t know these well paying jobs were being taken up by criminals and creeps. We are allowing ourselves to become the good Germans.

Look man, I agree with the sentiment (mostly), and I actually abhor immigration detention centers as a rule. Have since the Obama era. There are many, many issues with how they operate and the fundamental thinking behind their existence. DHS made a massive error by broadening their hiring pool, and the detention deaths (while still in the tens) are significantly higher than they should be.
All that being said, when you say shit like "We are allowing ourselves to become the good Germans," you sound like a retard. ICE detention centers fall in the same boat as "poorly run US prisons," which are several rungs higher than poorly run Cuban prisons and miles higher than Auschwitz.
This blowhard Martin Luther King style rhetoric just makes people want to double down, because it flies in the face of reality.
And, for the record, we largely know what goes on inside detention centers because they are frequently audited by journos and bureaucrats. How tf you think the Guardian got this information in the first place? Again, this isn't Auschwitz. They aren't building Kremas to avoid reporting death tolls back to Berlin.
