Official Vocabulary Quizlet Sets
Hi All,
We are happy to share with you another free study resource that we think may be of benefit to the community. I have compiled a set of six Quizlet sets that are comprised of vocabulary words from the official practice tests and the SAT Suite Question Bank. Although not every word on future SAT exams will have appeared previously on these practice materials (so you will need to study vocabulary beyond what is contained in these flashcards), learning this essential set of real "SAT words" is a great place to start.

My ideal teaching tool for English would present questions in HTML on a web page, coding a mouseover popup short definition for key words in both the stem and the answer choices. An added bonus would be to track how many times students had to resort to that for each word.
If anyone's already done that I'd of course not want to re-invent the wheel.

r/SAT takes a poll on the hardest vocab after each test in their official Reddit SAT discussion threads. You can find official SAT discussion threads by searching and usually the first comment or post is about collecting hard vocabulary from the test.

this is great! also quick thing, some words have multiple definitions so it's pretty important to know the uncommon uses of a word too :)

These are all super helpful, thanks for taking the time to compile these.
Noticed one small error in Set 5:
The word substantiate: v- to verify, confirm.
Should add: 'by providing proof to do so' to the end of that definition.
I.e. When you substantiate an argument, you are using proof to confirm/validate it.
While the def. itself isn't incorrect it's not the whole definition.

Thanks. Are these compiled out of the Collegeboard question bank + BlueBook practice tests? Or just the question bank excluding active practice-test questions?
I would hate to “study” these and then have them show up in the practice test… which would then result in an inaccurate score.
You also said study vocab beyond this list, which makes sense. What are the resources you recommend?

These are compiled out of the Bluebook practice tests, the Linear Practice Tests, and the SAT Suite Question Bank as described on the original post. Whether you think that will result in an inaccurate score is up to you.
I would note that you have no idea which questions in the set are on practice tests and which are from the question bank so it's not like you'll be able to cherry pick the ones that you'll definitely see on a given exam, and I have had students report to me that they have seen many words from this list on the actual test.

do you think it will be better to study this, even though it gives a falsely increased vocab score, or do you think it would be better to just use guessing/context clues in order to help our thinking skills for when we dont know what the vocab means
