Culture Accommodation help. I don't have family in Samoa anymore but I want to experience fa'asamoa.

I'm Samoan but grew up away from the culture and I'm heading to Samoa for the first time. I want to learn about fa'asamoa so I really don't want to stay in tourist accommodation. I have distant family there but the only contact I have hasn't been replying so i'm wondering what my other options are. I have been looking at homestays as an option but i'm wondering what else I could do.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would really appreciate any thoughts.

Tiapapata Arts Centre - they rent out their treehouses on Airbnb and it’s a great hub for getting to know people

You could try hiring a local tour guide to take you around Savaii or Manono for a day trip or an overnight stay, that’s what I’m doing!

Try Vaiula Beach Fale in the south of Upolu. They were really lovely when i stayed there in 2022.
