Discussion | დისკუსია Pediatrics in Georgia
Hi! I’m a pediatrician from Armenia and i love Georgia very much. I’m also learning Georgian right now. Recently i’ve started wondering whether is there any need in pediatricians, what the job market is like, how medicine really works in Georgia and etc. So if anyone could share their experience or help i’d be very grateful!

I’m sure Georgia has accelerating brain drain so you could fit in perfectly, maybe?

Well Pediatriatian is not the highest paying medical profession here, more on a lower side. Additionally, there is a weird law - for foreign doctor to get employed here you need a recommendation to hospital from Georgian Pediatrics Association that your employment is necessary, getting which often becomes a headache

გმადლობთ! I also heard that if i have less than 5 years of work experience (mine is 4), i need to take a licensing exam, is it true?

Whenever I check local hospitals' websites, I see Russian doctors listed. So it must be possible to get hired if you speak enough languages.
