Request Comic book or graphic novel recommendations?

Hi all!

Any comic book or graphic novel recommendations that fit the themes of Romance for Men?

Over the years, I've seen some online comics with themes that interest me and work well as erotica. But I haven't really found many well-written graphic novels or comic books that explore the type of story this sub focuses on (for me, an earnest MMC and a confident/powerful FMC would be best).

Curious for any recommendations!

OK, this is going to sound literally insane but I propose Elektra Assassin by Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz. I expect anyone who takes me up on this to say, "No, you're wrong, but I get it."

Not sure about romance, but I do like Elektra a lot!

A while back, Humble Bundle did a “strange romance” comic bundle. The bundle is over but someone reviewed a lot of the titles in there.

Also, The Dragoness Says Sit is a pretty good WEBTOON with a blue haired boy and a big red dragon woman. Speaking of Webtoons, I also really like Demon and Mess but a) it’s so slow burn it might not actually be a romance at all but just a story of two roommates becoming friends, and b) it’s been on hiatus since January and doesn’t have a particularly strong conclusion at the moment.

Dragoness had a 2026 summer season, though the writer took a July/August break. New episode dropped last friday.

Thank you for the recs! Close as Neighbors in particular seems great to me!

Your recommendations introduced me to Toomics, and I've found a bunch of additional comics that seem to have great promise:

Annoying Alice https://toomics.com/en/webtoon/episode/toon/5462

Entrapment https://toomics.com/en/webtoon/episode/toon/5197

Someone Stop Her https://toomics.com/en/webtoon/episode/toon/7189

I really enjoyed Rosario + Vampire manga. It's very RFM coded. A young man accidentally enters a school for monsters and immediately becomes tied up with a very powerful girl vampiress.

Another one is Plus-Sized Elf manga where a young man starts a health spa for the paranormal.

Thanks! I liked the characters in Plus-Sized Elf a lot, but the stories all seem to revolve around eating. It became too much for me after a bit :)

I loved "Chasing Red" on webtoons (an adaptation of a wattpad novel that I have not red). The art is hot. The male main character is realistic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Which lead me to "Situationship" by the same art team.

"Down to Earth" also deserves a mention. Alien FM love interest is taken in by broken hearted human/earthling MMC (from prior bad breakup/relationship). Really realistic living, young adult, post high school trying to make a go at life situations. MMC has to teach FMC about earth, while trying not to open his heart up. Or take advantage of his house guest. It's really sweet.

And when it comes to comics, "Dragonesse says Sit" should be mentioned in the same frequency that Charlotte's Rejects is for print.

I also really liked the beginning of Sadistic Beauty: https://www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/sadisticbeauty

I really like the plotline between the FMC and the MMC, but I don't really care much for the plotline between the FMC and the second Male Character.

Chained Soldier/Mato Seihei no Slave is an action manga with heavy role reversal and femdom/BDSM themes that doesn't shy away from depicting it, it's very steamy. MMC and especially the FMC fit your criteria (and there's also about a half dozen other confident/powerful women characters besides the MC). Also has 2 seasons of an anime adaptation, with a third on the way.

Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro! is probably one you've heard of but it's pretty spot on for what you're looking for. The FMC is a jock that likes to instigate and the MMC is an easily wound up art nerd. Lots of teasing, lots of shenanigans at the start but the romance develops in a really well done and believable way. The mangaka does a great job of showing their characters' growth as a result of them hanging out together. No steam, they are high schoolers, but a lot of silly and a lot of sweet. Two seasons of an anime as well.
