Going Commando/Locked & Loaded/R&C2 I would do anything to have manual aim while strafing in Going Commando
I love the game to the point it constantly fights it out with the first one as my favourite in the series, but man it would've been even better if you could just... aim manually while strafing.
Not even having lock-strafe mode, I actually prefer having to hold a button to strafe, as not every weapon works best while costantly strafing, but I just want to be able to aim manually instead of relying on the auto aim or locked on weapon mods (or first person mode, not really a fan of first person mode).
the games from UYA onwards HAVE manual aim, but they also have a way more linear level design, wich doesn't completely ruin the series, heck, Deadlocked is as linear as it could get, yet it is my second favourite, but man do I prefer the more open levels of 1 and 2.
And while I don't mind the lack of strafing in one, since the game was clearly build around that restriction, with fights feeling way more like puzzles that require solving (not that the later games lack strategy of course, it's just more important here), I don't feel quite the same in rac 2 with the lack of proper manual aim, especially in certain moments (like a... very specific arena boss...).
Again, I still love the game, but if someone sees this and decides to mod manual aim while strafing in the game, you are my hero

I seriously hope a decompilation for these games happen at some point similar to the Jak games. RAC3 style aiming and full keyboard and mouse controls are some of the things I've been hoping for, especially after how good Rift Apart played with those controls.

My god an opengoal for ratchet and clank would be amazing. Like you said the RC games play so well on K+M even though it’s built for controllers.

I'm playing the first game right now and I'm just using the claw controller hold lol

Only reason i don't like manual aim is because it doesn't feel good to me to move during fights while being constantly on strafe mode (except for Deadlocked), and sometimes it's nice to be able to shoot behind without having to turn the camera.
That's why the aiming system we got since FFA/QForce is the right one to me, manual aim but you're not locked into strafe mode while holding a weapon.

Yeah that's one of the reasons I usually start with UYA when doing replays of the whole series. Just mauls my hands not being able to aim properly

I completely agree and this almost ruined the game for me having to switch between the right stick and circle constantly wow in combat just doesn't feel natural at all. Least give you the option to have shoot on r1 and have some kind of different system for a lock on with crouch going to r2.
