Wow Rudy you just keep opening your mouth. The distant memory of you being a decent human being has faded into the background for sure

u/WearyCopy5686 2h ago

He has never been a decent human being.

u/Capraos 2h ago

Yup. Pretty sure the only reason they actually went to take out the Mafia was just because it was a competing organization with the government. Not because of the violence but because of the money.

u/DarthDryMouth 2h ago

Competition to the Russians.

u/AmericanCitizenry 1h ago

It's always the Russians, the Epstein files, and not being locked up with these guys.

u/Known_Ratio5478 1h ago

He specifically targeted the Italian mobs while ignoring the Russian mobs that were growing at an alarming pace at the time.

u/Long_Procedure_2629 1h ago

Amazing he didn't get got

u/Sember 38m ago

The mob was already dying from inside, he wasn't as important as it's made out to be

No, but the memory was real. He was always a POS but people didn't know that. That's what kills me about people like Elon too, people used to worship him and call him IRL Tony Stark across the entire political spectrum. But couldn't keep his mouth shut, went full mask off and now he has to use his own kids as human shields because he's so scared of getting Luigi'd. So many people are willing to completely fuck their reputation and personal safety, just to earn more money when you were already rich enough to buy everything you and 5 generations of grandchildren could ever possibly desire

u/yalateef11 1h ago

As someone who actually met that dude, I can confirm.

u/SylvieJay 2h ago

Now it's pure jealousy. A brown man is actually doing a better job without a catastrophe (other than the orange dumpster fire) in the background. He should invest in better hair dye and just fade off into mediocrity

u/AmericanCitizenry 1h ago

He should be locked up!

i still remember the scene in borat where they had Rudy in a room with an underage girl and he undid his pants, so gross

u/WorthPlease 1h ago

He basically got rewarded for just, being the mayor when a major terror accident occurred and.....did some speeches?

That would be like calling me a hero because my house burnt down while I wasn't there, but I still went to work afterwards.

u/Known_Ratio5478 1h ago

He really never was. He was as crooked as they come even back then.

u/fiesew 2h ago

Rudy still alive?

Wow.

I really thought that he died some time ago and that no one gave a dogshit anymore about him after his passing.

Wow. So he’s still alive and people are people are still not giving a dogshit about him anymore.

That’ll be emotionally even more damaging I guess.

u/Creepy-Row-1379 2h ago

He fuuuucked up his legacy. Instead of the dude who cleaned up New York he’s going to be remembered as that crazy old dude that everyone hated.

u/BellowsHikes 1h ago

Hey, that's not fair. His legacy as the guy who held a press conference outside of Four Seasons Total Landscaping is going to go down as one of the funniest moments in American political history.

So he's got that going for him.

u/Headline-Skimmer 1h ago

I heard today that a long-buried (deliberately?) air-quality report about the twin towers area after the destruction was found just last year. I'm guessing it says the air-quality was worse than the public was told.

If so, this will also be attached to rudy's "legacy."

Still waiting to find out the story.

Rudy is such a snowflake sometimes … who let him out the retirement home …

u/SleepyLabrador 1h ago

You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain

Zorhan is who Rudy could have been. Rudy threw his lot in with Trump and is now in the gutter.

u/failureKennedyblase0 2h ago edited 45m ago

I thought Rudy had died

Edit: hey thanks for the award.

u/Modem_Sound_67 58m ago

never misses a chance to seem even more cartoonishly evil.

u/Chastain86 46m ago

I remember attending a conference around 2005 where Rudy was a keynote speaker, and a lot of the people at the time thought that he had a very good chance of being the next President. And every year since then, we realize the size of the bullet we all dodged.

u/Jabberminor 2h ago

By opening his mouth, it shows that weird house mouth he has.

u/jinz-o 42m ago

He just keeps opening it wider so they can shove it further down his throat. What a chud. He’s jealous of mamdani

u/Unusual_Sherbert_809 2h ago

It's surprising to me that Giuliani is a literal ghoul who most would never leave alone in a room with their children, yet he's still fighting for relevancy. It's pathetic how low someone like him can sink.

u/Ok_Star_4136 Royal Watcher 2h ago

I'm offended at the idea that Rudy Giuliani should be present.

He is a pale imitation of his former self. He mocks what he used to be, or at least, the way people once saw him.

u/Chemical_Bonus_4783 2h ago

Right?! Talk about digging up a corpse to parade around. He’s looking ghoulish but I guess that’s aging when you have no morals.

u/Rastrick 2h ago

Exactly my first thought. "That pervert is still alive?" He's gross.

u/Mr-MuffinMan 2h ago

Boomers really don't live in the same time as us.

My dad, who lived in NYC when Giuliani was mayor (and we still are here) says he reduced crime and that NYC was much safer than it is now (despite NYPD statistics literally contradicting this).

He still says stuff like "he really did numbers on crime. No other mayor made it as safe!"

u/smthomaspatel 2h ago edited 2h ago

He saw a drop in crime for a bit. It was consistent with the same drop in crime that happened around the country. But being NY they were able to make a big deal about it and get national attention.

His Police Chief got a lot of credit for it. They put him on the cover of Newsweek. Rudy didn't like that the chief of police got credit for successful policing. So Rudy fired him.

u/Mr-MuffinMan 2h ago

Not to mention the reduction of crime falls in line with the ending of the crack epidemic.

u/CharleyNobody 2h ago

And with the legalization of abortion (1973) and easier access to birth control through Planned Parenthood in 1970s.

I worked in a hospital staring g in 1980 and “D&C for bleeding” (abortions) were on the OR schedule every day. At least 6 a day. This was before anti abortion nuts got powerful. Average people were fine with abortions - only a loud tiny minority were agitating against abortion. When Reagan got into office he made anti-abortionism a big deal. (Pat Nixon had been pro-choice).

u/elebrin 1h ago

And the generally better quality of life that people were experiencing at the time. He was mayor through the late 90s, and everything was steadily getting better for everyone during that time. Yes, there was some bad shit going on, but people were just in general doing better economically during that time.

u/dsmith422 1h ago

The drop in crime also corresponds to the generation that grew up without leaded gasoline polluting everything with lead. That phase out began in 1975. The US had legalized abortion in 1973, so the effects overlap in the USA. But in other countries with legalized abortion, the phase out of leaded gasoline also corresponds to a decrease in crime in those countries a generation later.

u/Admirable_Cicada_881 2h ago

Your dad should go back to school lol

u/CharleyNobody 2h ago

Crime had started dropping under Dinkins. I lived in NYC at the time. Dinkins stated Take Back the Night and gave us a card that gave us 15% off restaurant prices on either Tuesday or Wednesday night, I can’t remember which. So restaurants ran specials on that night and people would go out. It started a change in the city.

But NYPD’s own statistics show a drop in crime staring under Dinkins.

All Rudy had to do was shut the fuck up after he left office and he could have ridden on the 9/11 coattails forever but he tied himself to Trump and fell into disgrace

u/CharleyNobody 1h ago

Rudy had a radio program in NYC after he left office where he ranted and raved over his rightwing agenda.

Did you know he forced Fox News onto cable when he was mayor?

Time Warner Cable refused to allow Fox News a spot on their lineup because at least 20 other stations were awaiting approval and TWC already had CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and NY1 on their lineup.

Giuliani threw a fit and took TWC to court. Giuliani lost and we all cheered. NYC knew Rupert Murdoch was a POS. It really seemed like we won at the time.

But there was a job called “Cable Czar” in NYC. A guy who ruled cable tv. Giuliani somehow got the current cable czar to resign (at the time it was said he was blackmailed) and Giuliani got a former law partner in the position of cable czar and the guy immediately overruled TWC and put Fox News on the air.

Giluaini was playing this game of blackmailing people through lawfare and other means to get what he wanted way back in 1990s. We hated him.

When he tried to run for senator from NY his numbers were so low he had to drop out and claim he was dying of cancer.

It’s amazing how people outside of NYC idolized him. We hated his dirty guts for so many things, like putting the Office of Emergency Management in WTC when he was told not to by FBI, NYPD and Secret Service. He also gave Motorola a no-bid contract for radios for FDNY that were never field tested and failed on 9/11.

Giuliani made NYC worse on 9/11. His actions killed firefighters. But since then, FDNY has turned MAGA (NYPD was always a MAGA force, but FDNY was different. Not anymore)

u/ExtensionOk9656 2h ago

It offends me that Crazy Rudy isn’t in prison

u/kvckeywest 2h ago

Funny how the people so worried about a Muslim mayor have no problems with the Muslims that gave Trump a plane, the Muslims that the US military will welcome for a fighter training squadron, Mohammed "bone saw" bin Salman and Ahmed al-Sharaa, a past ISIS/Al Qaeda fighter visiting Trump at the White House, or the Muslims that gave his son-in-law $2BN to "invest" for them.

u/Relevant_Winter_7098 2h ago

Nor do they ever acknowledge that 15 of the 19 terrorists of 9/11 were Saudi nationals

u/No1CouldHavePredictd 50m ago

"Outraged? I'm barely surprised. This is a country where women aren't allowed to drive a car. They're not allowed to be in the company of any man other than a close relative, they're required to adhere to a dress code that would make the Maryknoll Nun look like Malibu Barbie. They beheaded 121 people last year for robbery, rape, and drug trafficking, they've no free press, no elected government, no political parties, and the royal family allows the religious police to travel in groups of six, carrying nightsticks and they freely and publicly beat women. But "Brutus is an honorable man." Seventeen schoolgirls were forced to burn alive because they weren't wearing the proper clothing. Am I outraged? No, Steve. No Chris. No, Mark. That is Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace." - C.J. Cregg - West Wing Season 3, Episode 18

u/UncleNoodles85 2h ago

It's hard to explain just how racist the 00's were in the US. Not that we weren't racist the other decades, but it really spiked.

u/Worldliness-Weary 2h ago

It just shifted from mostly black people to anyone who has brown skin.

→ More replies (2)

u/Miserable-Miser 2h ago

Trump, 1989. Central Park 5 full page ad, basically saying they were guilty because they were black.

u/wefarrell 2h ago

Idk that it was more racist than we have been the last decade. It takes a lot of racism to elect someone like Trump, twice.

u/TrulyOutrageous42 1h ago

I think the distinction is that almost everyone in national-stage politics was racist to some degree in 2001. The national hysteria around islamophobia is hard to impart to people who didn't experience it, but it was pervasive. Now we certainly have more virulently unapologetic racists with no national trauma event to fall back on to justify it, but the majority of the liberals (actual leftists are rarely racist, let's be real) aren't on board with racism these days, while conservatives and regressives seem to have made it a policy choice because they think they can get away with it and also see this as their "last chance" before they lose the majority. (read: majority control of Congress, they've literally never been the majority, they're just good at looking like it because they refuse to back down and will lie cheat and steal to win)

→ More replies (2)

u/TrulyOutrageous42 1h ago

I'm just saying, what if we went ahead and followed this logic. Muslims were involved in 9/11, so no Muslims at the ceremony. Christians were involved in SO many tragedies, let's bar any Christians from showing up such as, you know, the parents of those who died, just like there were muslims who died in 9/11 and their parents might be there to mourn them.

I know we shouldn't stereotype people, but racists sure are deeply fucking stupid as a rule.

oh. OH. It's the hypocrisy as a flex, how could I forget, they know what they're doing because stupid doesn't mean "isn't clever when it benefits themselves".

→ More replies (2)

u/chinmakes5 2h ago

Oh please, as an old guy the 00s were nothing. We elected a black man as president. Yes it drove the racists crazy and they got louder, but most of us were good. When I was a kid in the 70s, the N word was used casually. I think I was in a pretty liberal area, we told ethnic jokes. Hell there was a sausage company in my town called Polock Johnny's.

Ethnic jokes were everywhere. We were on the East Coast. I kid moved in from Iowa. To tease him all the ethnic jokes became Iowa jokes. We realized that we didn't have to talk about the ethnicity, we all knew. I had a neighbor who proudly said that when a black family moves onto our block (probably 60 houses) he would move, happened not long after and sure enough he moved and he was a younger guy.

u/Excellent_Carob_3183 1h ago

Right? The 2000s were more racist?

Not by polling data or election results or popular culture.

u/musical8thnotes 2h ago

I especially love how we are gaslit today about how no one was racist towards Muslims in the wake of 9/11. I remember Bush Jr. getting on TV and hearing the snippet from his press conference telling people to not be Islamophobic to American Muslims.

And every year, there was an annual event of some racists shooting and killing an Indian/Sikh for wearing a turban because apparently only Muslims/Arabs wear turbans.

Why is Rudy smiling like a cartoon villain? Christ, they don't even try to hide it do they?

What am I missing…
Mayor Mamdani’s parents are of West Asian/Indian descent, so why is he getting blamed for 9/11 again???🥴🥴

Every time I think about Anger Management I remember the line at the end when Adam Sandler says “you rule, Mayor Giuliani!” And cringe to the point of imploding and becoming a singularity.

Zohran is America’s Mayor now, Rudy. Go away.

u/Responsible-Humor985 1h ago

He’s a Muslim of Indian descent born in Uganda. So he’s not even culturally related to those that attacked on 9/11. He’s also Shia Muslim, so he doesn’t share the same beliefs as the hijackers were Sunni.

u/VicGenesis 1h ago

This the same dude that was trying to get sucked off by a "15yo" in the Borat movie? Cool.

u/Majestic_Ad8448 1h ago

i’d be embarrassed if Rudy was there.

Osama woke us up to the Corruption of the US empire.

I lived in Manhattan when that guy was mayor. He wanted NYC to host the Olympics, so prior to the visit by the Olympics Committee he had a lot of the homeless rounded up and disappeared. There were regulars in the places I went who had been in the same place for years that I never saw again. I didn’t care much for him before, but from that time on I despised him. His actions since have kept true to that form and I was never surprised at the depths he go.

u/MrBwnrrific 58m ago

So he’s gonna say the same thing about Donald, who gloated on the day of when he found out about now having the tallest building in Manhattan

u/Khmakh 57m ago

Rudy needs to have another press conference . . . At 4 seasons gardening lol

u/LexHanley 50m ago

It offends me that Rudy Guiliani isn't checking the prison menu to confirm what's for lunch instead of tweeting. Guess we all don't get what we want sometimes, Rudes.

u/According-Horror125 33m ago

Giuliani aided in January 6th so he’s the real terrorist.

u/fobbybobby323 15m ago

You know what offends me more? Rudy not hesitating to take his pants off in Borat 2

u/Vsx 9m ago

Wake me up when something doesn't offend conservatives. They're offended he's coming. They'd be offended if he wasn't coming. They'll be offended if he's speaking or not speaking. They are offended that he exists, that he was elected, and that he seems to prioritize solving problems for average New Yorkers.

Conservativism is really just racist/classist/mysoginist/anti-science outrage now. There's nothing else left.

u/Caelixian 2h ago

I'm far more offended by boot-sucking Epstein Giuliani being there.

u/jeppercrock 2h ago

By gulioni's logic no men should be there either because the 911 terrorists were all men....

u/alchemyDev 2h ago

Why did George Bush (and Rudy) allow 9/11 to happen? If was during their watch, it’s their fault. They never get any blame for it ever because Democrats are unfortunately “above” playing that game. (I’m not actually blaming a mayor, but I will blame the POTUS)

Can you imagine if it had happened until Clinton or Obama? They’d still be running off Dems allowing it to happen. Ever notice how every Republican administration causes some disaster and we all collectively act like it was unavoidable?

9/11 happened on Bush’s watch. He spent most of decade failing to get Bin Laden. It took Obama less than a year to get him

u/LiveLoveCodeRepeat 2h ago

The ten years were required to push mass surveillance of regular people and other agendas (militarization, cultural conflicts) across the globe.

u/Wolfkurt1 2h ago

Racist fucker , also we know who did 9/11 majorty of Americans don’t believe anymore their bullshits

u/MoodyPrince_XoXo 2h ago

The guy got disbarred. Who cares about his opinion?
