God I wish I wasnāt American. This would be funny af to basically everyone else but its just fucking embarrassing to me. Like how dumb is our electorate that this is who they pick multiple times?
As an American, itās hard to blame you. Itās a combination of hubris, stupidity, and ignorance that is cosmically humorous. I just wish it was a novel and not real life.
Now anytime I get into an argument with an American in the future and I start to lose I can pull out the 'your dumb country elected a child rapist as a president and failed to imprison all the rich epstein elites on the list'. Not to mention still funding the Israeli genocidal state and bombing the middle east again.
its actually hilarious what do you mean? they are directly responsible for the despise of MULTIPLE countries. we get to see america fall AND in such a crazy entertaining way
As an American who has done everything in my power short of getting a felony to fight against this collapse, Iām pretty much just placing my bets on China collecting on our national debt, taking over the USA, and hoping they at least give us public transit
As an American in the Midwest, 75% of the people I interact with have no interest in politics.Ā It's as though everyone except myself and a few observant friends of mine know a collapse is happening.
Not American, and I would have found it funny af when I was younger and more cynical/apathetic. Nowadays I just find it sad and frustrating in equal measure.
This was funny 10 years ago before we thought he would really be elected. We haven't been laughing. We have been looking on in shocked horror at your society since then.Ā
It was my last year of college the year he got the nomination. We did really laugh at that. Government studies majors. When he got elected. I cried. I worked with Micronesians who thought it was so funny. I pleaded with them to understand why it was so bad.
They are not mutually exclusive. His being a disgusting petty evil parody of a living being doesn't change the fact that he produces all kinds of hilarity. Knowing this kind of person can't stand ridicule, would that make it feel okay?
I WOULD find it funny if the consequences of his actions were strickly limited to the people who voted for him, but either directly or indirectly they affect litterally everyone on the planet so...
If youāre not one of the ones who voted for him you just have our sympathy. Thereās honestly nothing funny about any of it until heās not a threat to everyone on earth
Remember that show Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe? He used to always say āI wish you guys had smell-ovisionā when he worked a gross job. Well, if we had smellovisions, I like to imagine the elections would have gone differently
Uh, boomers were split 51/49 Harris trump. Larger percentage of Gen z was right wing last election cycle than the baby boomers., cringeily named account.
According to your chart I was wrong. It was a 50/50 split. A 60/40 split isn't some miraculous improvement, it's a minor difference and the person I was originally talking to implied boomers are heavily for trump which is patently false.
I meant you said "Larger percentage of Gen z was right wing last election cycle than the baby boomers"
Baby boomers voted 50% for trump. Gen Z 43.5%. 43.5% is not larger than 50%. Unless you mean 2024 being this election cycle, and last being the previous one. In which case, 38% is still smaller than 52.5%.
I meant 2024, yes. I admit I was mistaken about the percentage of Gen z, but frankly that is a red herring to my true point about boomers not being overwhelmingly pro trump which is a common but popular falsehood.
