His recent statement regarding the military in particular, since a few years ago he was the guy who jammed up the military promotion process by requiring a floor debate and vote on EVERY promotion that came before the Senate. Creating a backlog of promotions that took more than a year to work through, robbing hundreds of officers of their salaries and benefits during the entire time as preventing key officers from being able to retire.

I am interested in seeing him and I hope e picks up some more support. People are esp. giving him a hard time for daring to be in his 60s, which there is still plenty of bandwidth left. I would say if he doesn't get going in this run it would be done. He is not the perfect candidate but appears to be well liked in must win swing states, and perhaps a younger VP with swing to the progressive elements could be a good balance. And his brother is well received in AZ too, so could possibly get that senate seat to be heldd.

- A lot of these non veteran republicans believe theyāre basically veterans because theyāre patriots and theyāve hoarded enough guns and rounds to kill all the animals 10x. I mean theyāre tough enough to have handled it but luckily they didnāt need to go.
- Some of them, like my brother in law, see VA disability benefits as the same thing as welfare benefits. He actually told me I was welcome for his taxes.
So stand for the flag proudly and call yourself the pro veteran patriot party but itās a grandstanding posture to continually pat yourself on the back and say āwe care about veterans.ā You care about poor people fighting unnecessary wars so your rich kids donāt have to. But yes you need your stocks in defense companies to do well too. Thatās all that matters.

Tuberville thinks that his fatherās service is his. The family members of veterans deserve some respect for the sacrifice they make in their lost time with loved ones and the support the family provides for their service member. However, that is not the same thing as personally serving in the military, which is what Tommy implies ALL THE FUCKING TIME, whenever it comes up. Senator Kelly is absolutely in the right for calling out this crap from āCoach Tubervilleā (his preferred honorific, btw). Tommy didnāt serve. To imply that he did is stolen valor the same as if any other jackass did it.
Tubervilleās a shit person and a shit senator. Alabama can do much better, but heās got an āRā next to his name and he coached at Auburn, and apparently thatās good enough for them.

Beginning in February 2023, Tuberville placed a single-handed hold on military nominations requiring unanimous Senate consent. He objected to the Department of Defense policy providing paid time off and travel reimbursement for service members or dependents traveling for abortion services where local access was restricted. This BS continued until December 2023.
