Why on earth would I ever respect a religion that teaches that I should burn in hell for all eternity for loving the "wrong" person.

I appreciate that! My issue isn't with individuals like you, I'm sure you're wonderful! But a bad apple can spoil the bunch, until the church as an institution has condemned and cut off those who use it's word for hate, my opinion wont change.
