Fingers are together in the second one. The joke is sex.

The thumb is also much larger.

Her nails are the same in the second image...

Jokes aside, I've never understood the pointer-middle finger thing, because to me, middle-ring feels far more... Ergonomic?

I think the pointer taking point is more of a dexterity thing…most of us aren’t worried about potential OSHA violations in the bedroom

•
u/ApparentlyRythium 4h ago
While this is a common joke it is not the case here, the fingernails are the same length in both, just a different angle, you can see the same amount of nail to the sides of each finger

•
u/Fuzzy-Welcome-4650 4h ago
You blind? lol
It's the pointer and middle finger on the right hand.

Yeah, they wanted to make a tired old joke but were too lazy to trim their janky nails for the bit. I don’t think this is worth analyzing to death (or at all, for that matter)

I assumed repeatedly broken fingers since this is my resting posture and sex typically results in my of a "live long amd prospure" gesture, but Im male do whay do I know?

Quagmire here. Giggity.
You see, lesbians like to use their fingers (not as much as I do though, giggity). Her ring finger nail is clipped on the right, when she's in a relationship. Giggity. So she can do the do with her lesbian lover. Giggity.

Why is her thumb swollen?

This is funny because it’s wrong lmao. The two fingers instinctively poised together are the tell
•
u/Perhaps_A_Person 4h ago
Probably a reference to fingering (not the instrumental kind), if you look closely the middle two fingers are closer together in the married image, implying they do it a lot more than when single.

i mean....wouldn't the single one be doing the same exercise by herself because they didn't have a gym partner?

"What a peculiar hand position those fingers are in"
"The better to finger you with, my dear."
The joke is sesbian lex.

The way the two middle fingers in the pic on the right are closer together implies that's they way they finger their lady.

All the people pretending that the nails are not the exact same in both pictures (look at the edge of the tip of the fingers and you can see the corners of the nails) are missing the fact that the two fingers in the middle are together because that's how we finger our girlfriends.
•
u/jarboxing 1h ago
But they aren't together. They just aren't as far apart as the other photo.
•
u/freyjasdotir 1h ago
The point of the meme is that it's the two fingers that lesbians use (generally, not always, just the most comfortable for most of us). If in a relationship and sęxually active, then the fingers are going to be kinda "stuck" in that position, aka not spread apart completely. Again though, the nails are the exact same length in both pictures, it's just the angles that we are seeing the fingers from since they are in a different position.
•
u/jarboxing 1h ago
I think it's not about the fingers, but the difference in muscularity.
•
u/freyjasdotir 1h ago
It's the exact same hand taken in the exact same place at the exact same point in time. There's no difference in the muscle. It is the position of the fingers. I know from experience lol.

There is a longer nail on the pointer finger of the single lesbian. Active lesbians keep their nails short and softly filed down so there is not a chance of hurting their girlfriend. Giggity
•
u/Skater_Potater2006 3h ago
Could it be something to do with wearing rings? Like you can tell if a straight girl is taken or not based on whether shes wearing a wedding ring on her ring finger, but some lesbians maybe don't participate in that social custom? Shes wearing the same jewelry in both pictures, so the joke is that you can't tell whether shes in a relationship or not?
•
u/girlwithwateringcan 3h ago
single girl has ring on to not get asked out by guys. taken girl has ring on as an actual wedding band (and also to not get asked out by guys)

u/jarboxing 1h ago
I think it's because the second hand is more muscular. Meaning lesbians in relationships use their hands more.

Tbf, it's pretty easy to overlook the fingers being closer together in the second image.
•
u/LarkspurLad 4h ago
What stood out to me the most was the lines on her palm being more defined in the second one, perhaps from using them more roughly for the "come hither" formation or for, ahem, making a fist.
