He has asked the new mom to get out of bed for this photo. He must be in peak panic mode so check his ecg for anomalies. Literal stress ecg test.

u/Zestyclose_Range5815 1d ago

I don't think this pic was his idea 😅

u/MacSchluffen 21h ago

He looks so happy

u/kjermy 20h ago

It's Eminem from Temu. Twice as happy as the original one

u/TRJF 18h ago

Teminem

u/Helpful-Work-3090 18h ago

Instead of rap god, he's rap minor deity

u/DaddyluvsPunkin 17h ago

Eminem if he had chosen golf instead of rap.

u/Thundersalmon45 7h ago

Slim Shady Pines Golf and Country Club

u/gerryt32 18h ago

Eminemineminem

u/kyrsjo 14h ago

Less-slim shady

u/Thinktank-1733 1d ago

Explains the stress.

u/SquirtleFemboy 22h ago

it was his idea and they both had this picture planned months before the birth.

u/HBravery 12h ago

Yeah, one thing new mom’s hate is cute pictures of the dad and baby they can post on social media. Also, they never have to pee

u/Objectionne 1d ago

What's the problem with new mom getting out of bed? When my wife had our kid the doctor told her she should try to get up and moving again as soon as she feels ready to aid recovery. When she came in a few hours later and saw my wife already standing up and (slowly) walking around she was happy.

u/Thinktank-1733 1d ago

The original post was by the mother who posted this photo along with a caption saying something like "when your husband asks you to get out of bed 5 hours post partum so he can have his dream shot".

u/Thinktank-1733 1d ago

Found it

u/doctor_jane_disco 1d ago

What is the "shot of his dreams"? This photo?

u/ydkLars 20h ago

Just look at his happy face. I bet he was begging her to take this shot.

u/Thinktank-1733 1d ago

Guess so

u/SquirtleFemboy 22h ago

well his other "shot" made this one possible. ;)

u/Buki1 18h ago

Why woman like to blast their husbands like that for millions of people? Even if the story is real, she could just say no.

u/BTCminingpartner 13h ago

For the likes

u/Objectionne 1d ago

Sounds like her husband had her wellbeing in mind. Sound lad.

u/comoestasmiyamo 22h ago

Can a man not just bond with his child without judgement Lois?

To the Petercopter…etc

u/Charming-Border7429 22h ago

Yep, Anne was up in a couple of hours. As soon as she could do a lap around the floor without assistance, she was discharged. She is a Doctor and strongly dislikes hospitals.

She got home and chilled for several weeks. My parents and I looked after her until she was ready to be more active. Dad, who I thought of as the largely absent breadwinner, turned out to be remarkably nurturing! I still don't know if he changed or society did.

27 years later, I am still not allowed to come anywhere near her clothes and the laundry room. For heaven's sake, how was I supposed to know you can't wash the new burgundy 'company towel' with her clothes?

u/Careless-Advice9406 17h ago

Shit… like right after delivering the baby?💀💀💀

u/ZeidLovesAI 16h ago

Why does it have to be the new mom? Literally anyone else could take the photo, a nurse or family member for example.

u/OxideUK 1d ago

Dad's heart rate may be a little elevated having just witnessed the birth of his child. Some fathers have a reaction to witnessing the miracle of birth, which sometimes resembles a baby being pulled out a lasagna, and it is not unheard of for them to experience tachycardia, hypotension, and syncope.

An individual with a defective cardiac conduction system may be forced into an arrhythmia by abrupt changes in heart rate, which results in all of the above. Dad's lips are white, indicating poor peripheral perfusion, his pupils are dilated, he looks like he just took three epi-pens and he's lying down because he can't stand up.

u/panicatthedrivethru 1d ago

PULLED OUT A LASAGNA?!???????!!!?!

u/SpoofExcel 23h ago

.....it's a weirdly apt description

u/Tensdale 17h ago

I disagree because I have no fucking idea what that is supposed to mean.

Am I the only one?

u/KarmaFox99 17h ago

I saw a reddit post the other day describing the different layers of tissue a C-section cuts through to get to the baby so... lasagna layers. I'm sorry 😞

u/sqeeky_wheelz 15h ago

During my csection they told me they just had “2 more layers to stitch” before I could go see my baby at the nicu and as I was stoned out of my tree at the time I made a joke that “ladies are like onions” then laughed and laughed at my joke. And when the anesthesiologist didn’t laugh hard enough I called him out and accused him of not loving shrek.

u/Successful_Salad7732 13h ago

This actually made me lol like how dare they not love Shrek and just start howling!? I feel like in that moment I would have laughed harder at the accusation of not loving shrek

u/antarte 17h ago

pulled out of A lasagna, no pulling out a lasagna

u/jep35 7h ago

Its a very good description, I witnessed the birth of 2 of my 3 son's and never could describe what I witnessed, but after reading that , I must agree that is the best description of the event ever .

u/Tensdale 1h ago

Okay that’s good for you man. But do you care to explain what the fuck it means for us not in the know?

u/Unusual_Plenty_5008 23h ago

I’ve heard of the phrase “punched lasagna” to describe the organ in question

u/AndIAmEric 22h ago

u/Usual_Bit4677 12h ago edited 9h ago

Something like this happened during the birth of our second child. I don’t know if I looked pale or what but suddenly the nurse said “Dad are you ok.” And suddenly they were tending to me.

I was annoyed because 1. My wife is having a baby and needs all the medical attention 2. This was my second go round and I felt fine. 3. They had ignored my repeated remarks about the fact that our first delivery had been precipitous. Maybe I sounded anxious or panicky but I was right. My wife had our second baby 7 minutes after they got us to the delivery room.

u/EnvironmentalBed8519 15h ago

No it’s when the baby looks like the dad you check the fathers ekg to see if he has evidence of an inherited cardiac condition when you are worried a baby has a congenital heart defect.

u/PeacefulCrusade 6h ago

Man its weird, like im fine around blood and gore and everything. When my first child was born watching the bith I got light headed and almost passed out like idk what happened

u/BubbleSmith 22h ago

No chance someone could have made the story up at all. No way.

u/malachite_13 1d ago

My husband sleeps like this. Lookin like a damn burrito.

u/Capertie 23h ago

People with low blood pressure often feel cold even when it's warm. Witnessing something stressful like a birth normally raises your blood pressure so him still being wrapped in a blanket means his normal blood pressure is dangerously low.

u/centurion236 18h ago

Exactly this. Plus they often keep newborn hospital rooms wayyy too hot, so if dad's wrapped up then he must be feeling unwell.

Source: recently spent a sweaty week in the hospital

u/Shikoda0 21h ago

u/The_Dennator 14h ago

I've been looking for this

u/BIG-STEPPER-88 19h ago

Ohhhh so basically he is nervous or panicked asf and Blood pressure dropped lowwww. So he is feeling super cold now. May pass out soon. Which is not a good idea when his wife just brought his baby. Check his ecg to make sure he isnt passing out. Source - Lots of blood pressure issues and often this happened.

u/subzerothrowaway123 14h ago

As a physician this makes no sense to me. A stress test is meant to uncover an underlying heart condition which is more likely to come out when the heart is stressed.

If he doesn’t have an underlying heart condition, there is no point in doing one. A stress test isn’t something you give to someone because they are stressed.

u/dogwoodcat 19h ago

One eye is sitting higher than the other, a possible sign of stroke or other brain injury.

u/EnvironmentalBed8519 15h ago

Everyone’s explanations here are wrong. There is a saying in medicine if the baby looks funny look at the dad first. Meaning if you think a baby has a congenital defect or a possibly inherited syndrome look at dad first to see if he has it. Babies can have inherited cardiac conditions so when pediatric cardiologists are looking for these they can check the parents ekgs also. This baby looks like his dad so check his ekg to see if they have the same inheritable cardiac problem

u/Fine-Astronomer-1102 10h ago

this doesn’t make any sense

Most likely its a bot farming karma or training ai

u/lightning_Mcking29 1d ago

The joke is a fake “clinical pearl” built on how the photo looks.

The dad is wrapped in the exact same leopard-print swaddle as the newborn and is lying in the same pose. He looks like a giant version of the baby — pale, tired, slightly vacant expression.

In real life, newborns get heart screening (pulse-ox for critical congenital heart defects, sometimes an ECG if something is off). The meme pretends cardiologists have a rule: if the father is mimicking the baby this hard, skip the infant and check his ECG first. The implication is that he is the one who looks like a cardiac patient — wiped out, ashen, possibly having a stress-related event from the shock of becoming a dad.

It’s just visual resemblance + hospital-bed setting + a made-up medical rule. No actual cardiology guideline exists.

u/OffensivelyWet 1d ago

You replied with an AI answer, for real?

u/Stormagedd0nDarkLord 1d ago

I"m just thankful they didnt include the AI paragraph directed to the user at the end asking if they want a different version.

u/friendlybanana1 17h ago

I actually think this might not be AI, it's less pretentious than AI usually is

u/Pothperhaps 1d ago

Howd you know?

u/kropdustrrr 21h ago

“clinical pearl” 😂

u/wyndmilltilter 20h ago

That’s actually what doctors call lessons/takeaways in teaching hospitals. AI picked up that tidbit (pearl?) of jargon probably from absorbing thousands of publicly available teaching decks - every one of them has a bullet list slide of “Pearls”
