Oh my ... that closed captioning said "we'll have a day of time."

u/HeIIDie Aug 05 '26

"Oh, what did they do? It's simple, [title card]"

u/UnforeseenDerailment Aug 05 '26

Gay sex with each gay ch'other.

u/Don_Pickleball Aug 05 '26

Is it still called a train if it is on a boat?

u/Main-Cheesecake3287 Aug 05 '26

Nope. Gay sex between adults of equal status was highly stigmatized. They were mostly just raping women and going to brothels. It’s not like being gay is a choice or that the Greeks had way more gays

u/1968GTCS Aug 05 '26

While this is a possibility, it also seems like you missed some major points of the movie/story. Odysseus’s crew did a lot of raping and pillaging. They were punished for their actions.

u/luluciee Aug 05 '26

I know, I watched the movie, but the reply in the post seems to imply gay stuff rather than rape.

u/StaffSalty9490 Aug 05 '26

The movie?! You mean you didnt even read that 6000 Pages book but you talk about the movie. Pfff weak

u/luluciee Aug 05 '26

Got me there!!

u/username_tooken Aug 05 '26

What hypocrites the gods are.

u/Depressed_Warlock Aug 05 '26

People can do both things, you know 🤣

u/nobecauselogic Aug 05 '26

Also, fiction.

Also, possible.

u/Ha55aN1337 Aug 05 '26

Also raping and pillaging

u/Alternative_Mix6836 Aug 06 '26

Wrong

They took women as slaves from the cities they pillaged

u/BostonFishGolf Aug 05 '26

Are you a cannibal if your only choices are eat people or starve?

u/Jeagan2002 Aug 05 '26

If you are what you eat, the only humans are cannibals.

u/NotAnotherEmpire Aug 05 '26

Greek activity.

u/Collanp Aug 05 '26

If only they kept it at gay sex. The fact that the Illiad is kick started by Achilles and Agamemnon fighting over a sex slave paints a very different picture of the Greeks lol

u/Ivan_Whackinov Aug 05 '26

How do they know whose penis will open up to accept the other person's penis?

u/ddzyn Aug 05 '26

How can you trust your battle bro if you don't lay with him tho?

u/oan124 Aug 06 '26

In the navy!

u/georgiaraisef Aug 06 '26

Eh, gay sex between men was not acceptable. An elder fucking someone of lower status was more acceptable but I believe there were certain facets that were off limits. Someone fucking you was absolutely not acceptable in society. At least in Athens Greece around 600 BC. I remember reading about a politician in the history of Athens who was running for office who got cancelled once it came out his relations with other men were truly romantic

u/ContactMushroom Aug 06 '26

It's not gay if it's with the boys

u/Flashy_Lawyer7764 Aug 06 '26

The actual answer Is rape don't spread misinfo
