Hello guyss so laptops are predicted to go up in price in a few months if y'all wanna get or upgrade rn is a good time.
The guide on this subreddit wiki is kinda lackluster ngl, main issue being that it says don't spend more than 60k and that it recommends 6/7th gen.
>Go for used/ imported business grade laptops (dubai lot wala mal), avoid consumer grade stuff mainly because of durability.
>Make sure it is an i5 8th gen or above, this is very important because 8th gen laptop i5s are QUADCORE!! most 6/7th gen or below are dual cores, which are much worse (unless they have the Q suffix)
>Check if RAM is soldered or upgradable
>Make sure boot drive is an SSD
>Use passmark cpu and gpu scores to compare
*For gaming, its better to get mobile workstations instead (like Zbook or Thinkpad P series).. usually they will have better thermals and power delivery (yes you can game just fine on workstation cards, even have more VRAM)
For general use,
Like i said, business grade machines only for long lasting, durable, repairable ones at good prices.
HP:
✅GET -> Elitebook, ZBook, Probook, Dragonfly
❌AVOID -> Omnibook, Pavillion, Envy, Spectre, Victus, Omen (ppl say here that hp stands for hinge problems)
LENOVO:
✅GET -> Thinkpads (Except Thinkpad X9), Thinkbooks are also alright
❌AVOID -> Ideapad, Lenovo Yoga (different from ThinkPad yoga), Legion, LOQ
DELL:
✅GET -> Latitude, Vostro, Dell Pro, Dell Pro Precision, Dell Precision
❌AVOID -> Inspiron (some exceptions exist), Alienware, G-Series, XPS (again exceptions exist, some XPS ones are good)
Avoid getting anything below an 8th gen which at least isn't a 4-core cpu. ThinkPad T480, T480s, X380 Yoga are very popular. Elitebook 840 series too. Make sure to compare prices from different places.
If the RAM is soldered (like it is on 360 hinge laptops and some ultrabooks) make sure to get at least 16GB variant otherwise you'll be stuck with 8GB
Spend the minimum required to get an 8th gen i5.
Difference between 8th and 10th gen is not that much,
11th gen has Iris Xe graphics which are miles better.
12th gen has P cores and E cores which are hit or miss (in some cases battery life is worse in 12th)
Ryzen chips are usually better than intel ones, but not as readily available on lower price points.
A lot of imported stock esp business grade ones have been through light use in air conditioned offices. Check the battery health by command prompt (google how to do this) and inspect it physically (there's many guides online)
Edit: Full checking guide already subreddit wiki mien acha hai and you can find many on youtube.. make sure it isn't bios locked, ones that come with pen have a pen, charger original hai Make sure to get checking warranty, for refund or repair.

I am trying to set up my habib metro card on Google wallet and it keeps taking me to this screen when I enter my card details. I called the bank, and the guy said we can't activate it from here, just enter your details again and it should work. I tried that and it didn't work. I called them again and this time the guy said you need to activate e-commerce transactions on your card. He activated it and said now it should work, but I'm still getting this. Any idea how to fix this?
I've setup my meezan and easy paisa cards, they worked seamlessly, it gave an option for an otp or call bank and I did the otp option and it worked. For habib metro, I don't get the otp option. I recently switched phones and my previous phone had habib metro working with google wallet, I removed all my cards from there and added them to my new phone but it's not working.
Would really appreciate the help, thanks!

Hey guys,
I converted my jazz physical sim into an esim and noticed something strange. My iphone no longer registers my sim with the jazz carrier bundle thats within iOS. It says Carrier 72.0 but it should say Jazz 72.0 - Its using the generic one instead, and because of that I had to put in my APN settings manually. Im also afraid that its going to restrict me of features like wifi calling, which is supposed to come to iPhones from jazz soon. Anyone else having this same issue?

I sold USDT through Binance P2P and received Rs100,000 into Easypaisa. Shortly afterward, that amount appeared under “Restricted Transactions,” with a message saying it was temporarily held for suspected fraud.
A later incoming payment into the same wallet remains available, so the restriction appears specific to the first payment.
The “Claim it” process asks whether I recognize the payment, then requests a transaction-purpose category, proof, and comments. I selected “Investments” as the closest-looking option, but haven’t submitted the claim.
Has anyone used this exact form and recovered the held money?

Hey guys, I’m looking into getting a pair of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and honestly don’t have much experience with them, so I’d really appreciate some advice.
I got a quote of Rs. 138k from a shop in Islamabad for Matte Black Gen 2 with Transition lenses. Is that a reasonable rate?
Also, what are the main things I should check to make sure the pair is genuine/original? Any specific details on the box, model/serial number, Meta app pairing, etc. that I should verify?
If anyone has experience with these in Islamabad/Pakistan, I’d also appreciate recommendations for reliable shops or places to check out.
Would appreciate any tips before I make a decision. Thanks!

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with WhatsApp on iPhone?
When I open WhatsApp, sometimes it gets stuck with the loading indicator at the top. It can take several seconds, and sometimes even a few minutes, before WhatsApp becomes “live” and my messages start sending/updating.
The weird thing is that WhatsApp works perfectly fine on my laptop during the same time. If I send a message from the laptop, it goes through immediately without any issues.
Sometimes the iPhone app connects within a few seconds and everything works normally, but other times it just keeps loading for minutes.
Has anyone experienced this recently? Any idea what could be causing it or how to fix it?
Iphone 17 pro max
ios 26.6.1

My internet has been acting up since yesterday. Every minute, things suddenly stop loading for a few seconds then they load back up just fine. It never disconnects but has been consistently flip-flopping between working and not working. Tried multiple networks, too, on a bunch of devices. Anyone else facing the same issue?

Hello guys, need help.
I am looking to make a saas website in Pakistan. It's more like an online registery where you can upload details about a particular thing.
Static webpage interface + customer portal + admin portal
The number of entries in the registry will depend on the price tier.
What would be the average cost of making such a website in Pakistan by an independent freelance developer.
I will provide them with UI design, domain, hosting and AI tools.
Any rough estimate

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on structuring my home network setup for the best performance and stability.
Right now, my fiber ISP's Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is handling the main routing, and I have a TP-Link Archer AX55 connected in Access Point (AP) mode.
My ISP also supplied a Huawei OptiXstar K562e, which is currently sitting unused.
(Note: I’ve already tried setting up PPPoE direct bridge mode on the AX55, but the throughput/results were disappointing, so sticking to PPPoE on the router is out.)
Given these options, which configuration would give the best stability, speed, and latency?
Would there be any advantage in switching the AX55 for the Huawei K562e, or sticking with the AX55 in AP mode? If anyone has experience with the OptiXstar series or optimizing the AX55 on a fiber line, I’d appreciate your insights!

Hi I am gonna upgrade from my 15 Plus non PTA (very optimal phone with best battery life)
My options are right now 15 to 17 all pro max models PTA
I want to ask which of these models will lose me the least money? (Depreciate the least)
I am thinking 15 pro max is the most into its depreciation cycle but I can afford 17 pro max even but don’t wanna deal with a 1lakh loss in one year for example
I don’t keep really a track of iPhone prices so I don’t really have a idea on how prices work so that’s why I am asking you guys
(Ik iPhones are not investments just trying to pick the best of devils)

Saw this ad on OLX, pixel 8 pro 8/128 cpid approved, seems perfectly fine, even recorded and sent a video of the device on WhatsApp when I asked to.
Now they're giving it for 78k, and when I asked, they said that they would do last 73k for it. Could it be a scam? Seems a bit too good to be true.

Called my brother today from Onic to his Jazz number. Rang forever, then "not accessible." Next thing I know I'm connected to a random man mid-conversation, like I'd walked into someone else's call. That cut off, then I got dropped into a call with a random woman instead. Neither of them were talking to each other, just two separate strangers, back to back.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Kinda unsettling privacy-wise since we could all hear each other for a few seconds

My Lenovo thinkpad's battery is toast. It only runs while plug in charger. I got to a repair shop that said it'll take 8.5k for battery replacement and 3k for battery repair. I was going with battery replacement but my friend is saying that I should get it repaired instead. He says that all the used laptops in the market have repaired batteries and that I'll be wasting money. Now I'm confused what to do. Kindly guide me what should I opt for.
