Peripherals Do shops allow monitor testing for dead/stuck pixel before purchase?

Upvotes

Im asking because ive only ever bought online and have been lucky so far.

Planning to buy a Gigabyte g34wcq2 for work and would like to know more about policies in local pc shops.

For those who bought monitors from shops like DataBlitz, Game One, PC Express, EasyPC, DynaQuest, etc.:
• Did they allow you to open the actual unit and test it before taking it home?
• Did they run a dead/stuck pixel test using solid colors?
• If you found even one dead or stuck pixel during the in-store test, would they let you reject that unit and get another one?
Was this before payment, or only after payment but before leaving the store?
• Which branch/shop did you experience this with?

I know manufacturer dead-pixel warranties often allow a certain number of defective pixels, so I’m specifically asking about the shop’s policy at the time of purchase, not the manufacturer warranty.

Thanks

Troubleshooting Colorful Battle-Ax B650M Plus V14

Colorful BATTLE-AX B650M-PLUS V14 — BIOS 1012 to 1023 Update Failing

I built my first gaming PC in April 2026, and I’m currently running BIOS Version 1012 on my Colorful BATTLE-AX B650M-PLUS V14. I’m trying to update to BIOS Version 1023, but I haven’t been able to get the update to work.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Current BIOS: Version 1012
  • Target BIOS: Version 1023
  • Motherboard: Colorful BATTLE-AX B650M-PLUS V14
  • Reformatted my USB flash drive to FAT32
  • Copied the BIOS file to the USB drive
  • Plugged the USB drive directly into the motherboard
  • Tried the normal/manual BIOS update method through the BIOS
  • Also tried BIOS Flashback
  • For Flashback, I used the designated Flashback USB port and followed the instructions provided by Colorful
  • However, the Flashback LED never started blinking
  • I left the system for 50+ minutes, but there was no indication that the BIOS update had started or completed

As far as I know, I followed the instructions correctly, but I may have missed an important step.

Could someone with the same motherboard or experience with Colorful BIOS Flashback help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?

I’m particularly wondering:

  1. Does the BIOS file need to be renamed to a specific filename for Flashback?
  2. Is there a specific USB flash drive size or USB 2.0/3.0 requirement?
  3. Does the USB need to contain only the BIOS file?
  4. Is there a specific USB port that must be used for Flashback?
  5. Is BIOS 1023 definitely compatible with the BATTLE-AX B650M-PLUS V14, or could I be using the wrong BIOS file?
  6. Are there any additional steps required before using BIOS Flashback?

I’d appreciate any advice from someone familiar with this motherboard. I’d rather make sure I’m doing everything correctly before attempting another BIOS flash.

Thank you!

Peripherals IEM recos for casual gaming

Upvotes

Currently making the switch from headphones to IEMs. Did a bit of research, but got overwhelmed by the number of choices available haha.

Looking for recos around ₱5k. Preferably something neutral-sounding with slightly boosted bass.

I mainly play Dota 2 and single-player games nowadays, but I still play Valorant occasionally, so decent imaging/positional audio would be a plus.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Discussion First-timer here wanting to know your experiences.

Upvotes

Hello po, I'm new here to this community or whatever it is called. Gusto ko lang po magtanong tungkol sa experience niyo sa pagbili ng individual PC Parts po. Right now this year, I still keep an old legacy rig from the 2014 era. It still allows me to play games in 720p, but if I have time and savings I would like to move to a different platform, specifically AM4 Platform.

I know, I know that some of you might say "Just get an AM5, bro" o similar na pagsasabi, pero some of us here, katulad ako, may limitations po.

Kung okay lang po, pwede malaman kung anong klaseng experiences ang naranasan ninyo sa PC Building or switching from an old dead-end platform to a new one. Pasensya napo kung nakakalito kung ano talaga ang hinahanap ko po. Filipino is not my best language.

Ano pala, wag kalimutan din kung gaano karami ginastos niyo as well as the pricing of each PC Parts, specifically the RAMs so I'll be ready to save up some more. And also tell me if you've bought your PC Parts from either Outside stores, like outside your house, or online stores in online shopping websites/apps.
