Highlight Finally a teammate who even knows how Wuyang's ult works!
Shout-out to the Orisa, deserved MVP and potg π₯

Immaculately satisfying

I keep rewatching it on repeat π I'll be chasing this high for the next weeks lol

Okay see this clip is exactly why we need to start looking at teammate cooldowns when we ult them. Your Orisa just used their only movement ability and then the one ability they have that slows them down (if they didn't take the perk). It's like seeing a tracer recall and going, "yeah the tide should be w u rn big dawg". We gotta look for these things or at least call them out before it's done

How do you gigabrains keep track of all that in the action plus your own stuff plus who's alive and where plus ults plus the objective plus whatever my noob brain forgot about
•
u/maresayshi 29m ago
you donβt. you prioritize information based on what you are actually trying to do
•
•
u/A_S_Levin Phara 5h ago
Orisa did well to make the most of it tbh.
Most wuyang ults (and even a lot of nanos) I see, people just use it as a way to escape sticky situations. Like they take the free health and run away lol

Itβs so frustrating, just push in! If Iβm tiding you Iβm probably healing you too
•
u/BlueGlace_ Lesbian Time Jumper 2h ago
Shi bro if I'm getting ulted by Wuyang I don't care how squishy I am I'm diving their backline
•
u/rip-droptire Doomfist 12m ago
As a doom main I feel that. 50 hp without my ult? As soon as I hear "The tide is with you!" all my cooldowns are getting used in the direction of the nearest enemy support
•
u/A_S_Levin Phara 4h ago
Legit bro even in diamond people often just run away with it.
Tbf often the wuyang doesn't time it that well. Even in this clip they got lucky (maybe it was calculated idk) with orisa having her own ult to follow up with
•
u/New_Mousse4257 4h ago
Absolutely, the Orisa is the mvp of the play, especially with how they timed their ult
•
u/A_S_Levin Phara 4h ago
Tbf a lot of support ults are gonna be like that haha.
You still enabled that play so def deserve credit
•
u/Tmb0593 1h ago
Same thing I've noticed when I nano someone with granny. 9/10, the person heads to our backline and stands there till it's over. Wonder if they're scared of the pressure...
•
u/tamergecko 34m ago
Usually if a person gets nano/bubble and they dont rush in Its because they got ulted after they used their CDs so they have nothing to rush in with. Or the enemies are so grouped together or they have most of the scary CDs that even with the additional survivability they arent confident they'd live going in.
•
u/Sideview_play 2h ago
Somehow tanks will always hide during the ult ( and then be aggressive After????). But if you accidentally put it on another support they say "understood" and dash in at the enemy π
•
u/New_Mousse4257 2h ago
I have no original experience in my life, everything I've lived has been experienced by someone else on earth also π
•
u/Ailwynn29 2h ago
It's a weird kind of exciting. Few weeks ago there was this d'mon who seemed really excited whenever I'd use the "ult's ready" voiceline. She was so ready to jump into the enemy team and destroy them all. And to be fair to her, she did that every time. And yes, I will remember it for a while, it was so cute. Man, I love teamwork in my team-based gameΒ
•
u/New_Mousse4257 2h ago
Yes I love team plays too, I find it so much more satisfying than solo quad kills π₯
•
u/dedicated-pedestrian 3h ago
This gives me a dastardly idea for asking for Wuyang ult so I can TP myself or someone else into the enemy team as Symmetra
•
u/New_Mousse4257 3h ago
His kit is kinda good ngl, it's got potential
It's just that his character is so generic that most people don't even know what he does π
•
u/dedicated-pedestrian 2h ago
They did legit drop the ball on his writing. They could have leaned harder into the disparity between his earnestness and his newness/lack of confidence and made a more compelling hero

Iβm in plat and I get paired with teammates who back up when they get ulted by wuyang, even though they now have 500 HP.
How am I supposed to get out of plat.

As someone who plays a shitload of Juno I feel similar pains.
No way to force your team to clear out of a room quicker than to drop a Juno beam into it. I swear people will willingly run towards a Dva bomb or dive into Torb lava in sheer panic just to make sure the friendly Juno beam doesn't tickle a square millimeter of their toe as they pass by.

Nothing interesting happens before or after the ultimate. I dont see why this is a hot take.

The first time I got wu bubbled I didn't know what it did or what to do ngl. I panicked and backed up like wtf is happening, then looked at my Wuyang just staring at me disappointingly lol. But tbf I was playing Domina, attempting to poke from high ground, and we were down both DPS. Not saying Dom can't make use of that ult but even if I knew how to use it in that moment, the timing was pretty bad. What are we gonna do 3v5 after I use it? Especially against a Rein and Junk. I don't wanna be close range against all that
•
u/New_Mousse4257 1h ago
Yea your wuyang was just bad, Doom would've appreciated the bubble so much more
•
u/framingXjake 1h ago
Ah there was no doom, I was Domina and it was 5v5. I actually think Domina can brawl pretty well close range but to a lesser extent against an aggressive Rein and definitely not against a Junkrat. The strat in my situation would've been to hold bubble until the DPS got back, jump down and stun everyone with it, then immediately take out Junk. At least then we could've taken the 5v4 brawl without Junk bombing us to death.
•
u/New_Mousse4257 1h ago
My bad, somehow I read "Dom" as "Doom" π
But yea, not much you can do in that case.. especially since Rein can just shield up and block the knockdown. But yea if you're bubbled while playing domina and while both your DPSs were out, it's definitely the Wuyang's fault for misusing his ult.
I believe you did the right thing by backing off, instead of rushing face to face against a rein and junkrat, and risk dying while your DPSs were on their way back. Better to waste the Wuyang's ult than ruin the next 3 minutes

Idk bro I appreciated seeing the lead up, context and judging the decision making of others
No one forced you to watch a... *checks* 49 second vid...
•
u/Big-Amir 5h ago
Alright. Time to post a 5 min clip of myself tomorrow to show a 1 tap i did at 04:11. Hope im not forcing anyone
•
u/A_S_Levin Phara 4h ago
Go for it. <1min I'll sit n wait. Closer to 5mins n I'll skip through it, probs just watching the one team fight leading up to it. Not a fkn idiot bro, 1min of my life to see a fight play out is fuckall.
Kinda taking the piss with this comment tho, aren't ya

Your mums AI bro.
You would've spent more time replying to my comments than you would've watching OPs clip. So do u even value your time dawg?
Grim reapers watchin that sand drizzle through the hourglass. Better get a move on boy!

I trimmed it, it's just 49 seconds of the 6h a day you spend on reddit

You see players this competent in every 5v5 game
It's time to rank up your gaming experience OP
•
u/New_Mousse4257 2h ago
Yes there are a lot of good players in qp, but not nearly as many players who know what to do when wuyang uses his ult on them
•
u/Vhure Master 4h ago
your ult actively did nothing.
•
u/New_Mousse4257 3h ago
It gave the Orisa the giga health to survive using their ult in the middle of the whole enemy team. And the knockdown guaranteed that none of them were able to escape

u/Vaustick Got me a Thunko! 6h ago
I played Mauga one time and my wuyang bubbled me and got mad I ran into the enemy team.
Now to be fair... I was half health and I think he gave me that buble to save me. But I really felt like a bowling ball for a few seconds.
