Looking for a derelict property to film in for documentary project
Ive got a few leads but thought Id ask in here, looking for a place that isn’t totally smashed up, graffiti’d or been set fire too.
Its for a regional film being made locally, happy to pay a small fee for access/sign any paper work etc
If you think you know a place or can direct me someone who owns a place please DM me, many thanks.

Norwich Creepy story 😅
So I met my girlfriend in the Philippines and she just came to the UK to see me in Norwich. I was showing her around yesterday and we were walking along tombland and then she said "there's a lady in that window staring at us". She pointed towards the infamous slanted house (haunted house). She had no idea about it as it was her first time here. I honestly thought she was joking with me.
She kept reiterating that she's not joking and she looked visibly concerned. I asked her to zoom into the window on her phone and show me what she was talking about. She zoomed in on the top floor window and took a picture. But to me I couldn't see anything. She had goosebumps on the way back to my place.
It was honestly a crazy experience and I wish she was just joking. But I know she wasn't by how she reacted. She said it was a lady in a white dress that she saw. Is that in tesselation with the stories surrounding the house?
I don't believe in this kind of thing personally, but the way she acted really shocked me

Potential move to Norfolk - where to start?!
Hi all! 👋
My partner and I are considering moving to Norfolk over the next couple of years and are currently very much at the “throwing darts at a map” stage!
We have three young children (4½, 2½ and 5 months) and our three-bedroom semi in West Sussex is rapidly feeling a bit small. We love where we live, but we’re increasingly attracted to the idea of a lifestyle change — more space, a bigger garden/land, plenty of countryside and ideally being within reasonable reach of the coast.
I work from home most of the time, so London would only be 2–3 trips a month. My partner is currently a stay-at-home mum, but will probably look at something part-time once the kids are all at school.
The big thing for us is finding somewhere family-friendly, with a strong community and somewhere the kids can grow up with more freedom and open space. Ideally somewhere with a decent town/village nearby where you can actually walk to things, rather than having to drive everywhere. Our nearest towns in West Sussex have become pretty run down, so that’s something we’d love to avoid.
We’re planning to spend the next 12–18 months visiting different parts of Norfolk and getting a feel for them.
TL;DR: Family of 5 looking to move from West Sussex to Norfolk. Looking for space, countryside, coast, good community and somewhere great to raise kids. Where would you recommend we start looking — and are there anywhere you’d particularly avoid?
Thanks! 😊

Holkham beach request
Hi, I’m really hoping someone can help me out.
My dog of 16 years died recently, and I’ve been thinking it would be nice to put stones from beaches we visited on her grave here at home. She was a well travelled dog!
Would anyone be willing to post me a stone from holkham beach? I will pay postage.
Huge thanks in advance 🙏

Car on the side of the A11 northbound
I go down to Cambridge a couple times a week and for maybe a week and a bit/two weeks there's been a car stopped at the side of the northbound A11 near the elveden war memorial and I was wondering if anyone else has seen it or knows why it's there??

Gregory Hill
Has anyone noticed this guy posting in most Norfolk new social media pages to do with the police or Norfolk county council? Lots about corruption.
I've seen his arrest video and personally I think he made himself look quite silly. He seems quite unwell .
Is what he's saying have any truth to it?

Looking for docked boat bar/restaurant
I am visiting Norfolk soon and want to visit some places I went when I was young. I'm not sure if this place still exists anymore but I'm looking for a bar/restaurant that was a docked boat in either Wells-next-the-Sea or Hunstanton.
It was a sail boat and I recall a slight pirate themed, but it was permanent. It was a bar but they served food, I'm sure I had a veggie burger and this was about 14 years ago.
I can't find anything when looking online sadly.
Also if anyone has any recommendations I'd appreciate it. I'll be going to Norfolk Lavender and driving from Kings Lynn across to Cromer and then down into Norwich.

North Norfolk Baconsthorpe
I visited Baconsthorpe last weekend. It's a bit out of the way but that means that it's also fairly quiet and unspoilt. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Holt/Sheringham area.

Advice and questions Does anyone remember a Hollywood/movie themed restaurant somewhere in Norfolk during the mid 2000s?
I have absolutely no idea where in Norfolk it was, but it was a family restaurant and party venue that had a movie/hollywood theme to it. Walking into the venue there was a wall mural outside with paparazzi and when you walked past it would make lights flash as if you were having your photo taken by them. Inside of the restaurant there was a large great white shark head protruding out of the wall, and I also remember pictures of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. It had snooker/pool tablets, and a bar too. I can’t find anything relating to it on google. It maybe even had a stage in there for certain events too? The food selection was like steaks, burgers, pizzas etc. does anyone remember this place?

North Norfolk Where to live in North Norfolk with a 5 year old?
I (44F) want to move with my 5 year old, we currently live in watford. My parents retired and moved to Holt pre-covid.
Holt is lovely but a bit touristy and twee for what I want day to day, plus its more expensive than other places. I'd like to be no more than 30 minutes from there though, ideally a bit closer to Norwich.
We're looking for somewhere with an easy walk to a primary school and a shop and will have fairly easy access to a secondary school later, so walking or a school bus.
My daughter loves scouting, currently in Squirrels so ideally somewhere she can move on to Beavers near by. Plus ballet/tap and if possible a park.
I'm looking for access to a gym with classes fairly nearby, plus things I can do to meet people, volunteering or clubs maybe. I am looking to buy a 3 or 4 bed house, ideally new build or easy maintenance. I would like to keep it under £450k.
My parents have suggested Aylsham and North Walsham, what do people think of those areas? Is there anywhere else you recommend I look?
Thanks so much!

Locations
Hello, I’m looking for some nice locations to practise car photography in and around Norwich. I don’t mind travelling so even a bit further out is fine with me.
Any type of location is welcome, industrial estates, concrete areas, nature spots, forests, open roads, countryside, churches. Anything that would make a great backdrop. If they’re safe and easily accessible that’s a bonus. Thank you in advance.

Norfolk Constabulary running out of money?
I’ve noticed there are more mobile police cameras out at the minute than usual. I drive up and down the A11 daily and there is usually either a van once a week-ish or a bike on a slip road a couple of days a week.
Lately though, there are multiple vans along the road multiple days a week, as well as a lot of people being caught by the temporary average speed checks along the road works.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or know why? My best guess is they need more money, or have run out of things to do (as if there is no crime in the county!)

Paranormal
Hello!
I'm thinking about starting a YouTube channel focused on paranormal investigations and exploring reportedly haunted locations across Norfolk and probably the UK when we get more comfortable doing the investigations.
I'm looking for a few people who are genuinely interested in the paranormal and would like to be part of the team. I would like 1 or two people helping with the investigations, with a few people behind the scenes, such as video editing, camera operators, etc. You don't need to be an expert—just reliable, respectful, and willing to investigate with an open mind. You'll be appearing in YouTube videos, so you should be comfortable being on camera.
Would like to have mixed views on the paranormal, especially some sceptics, as we would need someone to say “maybe paranormal but have you thought about it this way?”
At the moment, as the new channel won’t be monetised, it’ll be a voluntary role.
Would anyone be interested in joining, or know someone who might be? If so, leave a comment or send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself, where you're based, and why you'd like to get involved.
Looking forward to hearing from fellow paranormal enthusiasts!

Visitor questions Things to do near Cromer with a toddler + baby (plus solo walks) — any suggestions?
Hi all,
We’re staying very close to Cromer soon and looking for ideas for things to do with a 2‑year‑old and a 6‑month‑old. We’ve already got a few plans:
Steam trains (North Norfolk Railway)
The animal sanctuary/zoo in Cromer
A day trip on the Broads
Eating out once or twice (we’ll be trying Crumble Crib)
Possibly travelling as far as Wells‑next‑the‑Sea
I’d also love to fit in one or two Nordic walks while the kids nap or stay with my partner — coastal or woodland, anything scenic.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for toddler‑friendly activities, easy days out, or good places to eat? Bonus points for things that aren’t too intense with a baby in tow.
Thanks in advance!

What is this circle on Peddar’s Way between Wells and Stiffkey?
I spotted this on Strava Maps, and went for a run recently to explore. Just really curious about what it was! OS Maps says there’s a disused pit here. The “circle” is a tarmac road/path, the centre has some sort of metal post thing, but I have no idea what it might be.
Can anyone local tell me anything about it?

North Norfolk Noisy Cockerel
Has anyone had experience with North Norfolk council dealing with a neighbours noisy cockerel. It’s been a month and I haven’t heard anything. I’ve chased them once.
