at that point, that’s such a heavy hand of fate you just shrug and move on

This is at least a 6 "Oof" on the 10 point "Oof " scale.

I took me way too long to realize that my mom...didn't know best... I took quite a bit of advice that was, in retrospect, detrimental.

how is this, in any way, unbelievable

As someone married to someone I met at that age, agreed.

I mean, this has literally happened to me.

And everyone clapped!!

No seriously, everyone should clap. That's astounding. I'm incredibly jealous

Thank you, thank you. A few of our teachers were there to witness it, it was very special and very heartwarming for most of them to basically be like “called it!”

That said, my brother is trying to outdo us. He met his girlfriend when she kept coming through his drive-through, then they found each other on hinge. Or so he thought.

All seemed normal until she came over to my parents’ place the first time and my mum grabbed the PRESCHOOL school photo where she is standing behind him.

What a world, hey?

My cousin and his wife are high school sweethearts. But they met as kids. Why is this unbelievable?

Kids aren't real.

Why would you want that? I would hate to get married to first girl I ever dated. Let alone crushed on. I grew so much as a person since the last time I ever even thought of them. Let alone saw them. Especially in 3rd grade

You never stop growing and changing.

The only constant is change, even in people. With that mentality that people magically stop dramatically changing, no one will ever be good enough for long, because they're not frozen in time.

You have to wake up one day and just choose the person to love and learn them again.
