News Windhoek to establish two new townships in Khomasdal

The City of Windhoek will be establishing two new townships in the Khomasdal Constituency, which are expected to provide approximately 750 residential plots.

The development is part of efforts to increase the supply of residential land in Windhoek and address the capital’s shortage of serviced plots.

The municipality has completed layouts for more than 11,000 planned erven across several townships, with N$296.4 million budgeted for land servicing and housing delivery during the 2026/27 financial year.

West of the "not a highway" with speedbumps SWApo builds townships. East of it they build suburbs. No man. Apartheid was conquerors from the South. The liberation was conquerors from the North. We are still living in 1989.

Our oppressors just changed skin colour.

My husband gets housing scheme from work right, 1.08 Mil. The banks refuse to consider the amount and approve a homeloan.

We found a home to buy 880 000K, but they wont loan the money. He can comfortably afford the loan with his salary alone and we have additional streams of income that the bank does not want to consider (even after we did the audited financials that the bank requested) . We have no large monthly expenses expect our rent as we dont have kids and cars are paid off long ago.

Buying a home in Namibia is the impossible dream.
