That is why we need to close ranks tightly behind our Ukrainian ally. Ukraine could field the biggest land army of Europe, let us finally give them access to the biggest Arsenal mankind has ever created: The Arsenal of the West. Shall they crush Russia and smite the Orcs back behind the walls of Mordor. Europe and the US are the shields, and Ukraine is the sword. Just yet, we have not yet dared to give them the blade of West... If we want to make Bidens' words come true, then we will have to. We all know that this was but a droplet of the armory that is actually at our disposal. America leads the way Europe must answer. To say it with Argagorn if you allow me some poetic input:

Yes, and although it would be better if Ukraine hadn't suffered this long without aid, one silver lining is that it did spook and give Europe a kick in the ass and make it step up. Would those Petr Pavel shells have been found and paid for without American faltering?
Now America is back AND Europe is ramping up more.

America is not back.
If anything, this shows us Europeans that America is an unreliable ally, cannot be trusted to honor commitments and we can never let it be the world's policeman again. We need to step up and stay up because when shit hits the fan we may just be alone.

It's lovely to see America begin to remember what it's supposed to stand for once again. That's basically why Europeans and the rest of the world have begun to care less about or even dislike the US: because you stopped standing for the values that made everyone respect and look up to the US. We don't mind at all America being the hero that everyone cheers for, but America really needs to BE the hero to deserve that trust and respect. You guys can do it.

literally had the idea like 2 seconds after they announced the aid coming through :v. I love lotr and the analogies of the movies lend themselves so well to conflicts between the forces of tyranny and the free peoples of this world

It ain't too bad, I think like all genres it really depends on the story their telling - I don't much like the horror genre for example, but my favourite book by a solid green mile has to be "The Shining" by Stephen King. No hate on Kubrick, but the movie was nothing on the book - the movie is about a haunted hotel, the book is about a haunted man. Peter Jacksons LOTR telling was pretty fine as far as the fantasy genre goes, kind of like the "Dune" of its genre (which is interesting because Dune was described by many as the LOTR of sci-fi).

Also, what's really interesting is that Tolkien wrote the nation of gondor as an analog of old erupe, and Rohan as an analog of the united states. History is repeating itself, and I warms my heart that America (Rohan) is answering the call.
