I used to be a very disciplined Muslim when it came to Quran and prayer.

Since childhood, I went to Quran classes and memorized Quran day by day. I would always try to be early for salah and get into the first row. As a kid, the people I looked up to were imams and people who seemed genuinely devoted to their faith.

Then, when I was around 15–17, I went through probably the worst downward spiral of my life. I became agnostic, rarely prayed, and forgot a lot of what I had memorized from the Quran.

Alhamdulillah, after a lot of experiences, especially during COVID, I slowly came back. Prayer helped keep me going during that period, and eventually I returned to my faith in a much better place.

Now I’m 21, but prayer has become one of my biggest weaknesses. I fast, read adhkar, and try to do other things, but I know none of that replaces salah. Every time I try to become consistent again, I seem to fall off.

What makes it harder is that I know how important prayer is. I know how much it has helped my heart and made life easier before. Especially with everything difficult happening in my life right now, I feel like I need Allah more than ever.

But when I pray, I often feel like I’m just going through the motions. Sometimes my prayers feel fake, and I rarely feel much emotionally during salah. That makes it even harder to keep going.

If anyone has gone through something similar and managed to overcome it, I’d genuinely appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.

Assalamu A'laikum Everyone!

I have a deep sense of faith and I believe everything that Allah has asked us to believe. The only thing, the only thing I have trying to achieve is make a habit of praying 5 times a day and never miss! Over the past 2 years, I have tried over and again to start praying 5 times. The most I have done is 15 days of non stop praying. And then, one way or another I am breaking my own rule!

I am a person who can be convinced with a proper logic and it doesnt need to said even twice because once it hits me, it hits me!

Saying this because, I really want to start praying Namaz because I know it matters so much, if not the most!

Suggestions anyone? Or anyone who felt the same and now has achieved what I am trying to achieve?

Would gladly accept any suggestions!

Assalamu Alaikum! I have a question that has been troubling me deeply. I am 18 years old, and I recently underwent a nose surgery (rhinoseptoplasty). I had a functional problem with my nose as well, including a deviated septum and a fractured nasal bone. However, during the surgery, the external shape of my nose was also changed much more than I had imagined.
Now I deeply regret it, and I am afraid that I have committed a sin by changing the creation of Allah. I do not feel well at all. I am afraid that Allah will not forgive me, and I feel very distressed that I did this. I never intended for the change to be this significant, and I did not realize that the doctor would place so much emphasis on the aesthetic aspect and change my appearance this much.
My heart is broken, and I hate myself for making such a major change. Please, I sincerely need your advice. What should I do now? Will Allah forgive me? How should I deal with this regret and guilt?

I have been so wronged by a man I loved deeply. He disrespected me, humiliated me, made fun of my appearance.

I pray to Allah to get justice. I’m so hurt and broken by what he did. We were not in a relationship but he knew I loved him and he led me on. He broke me down, he said I got fat, he talked to other women Infront of me, he showed me texts with them to hurt me. He rarely spent money on me and in the end he framed the situation as if I’m crazy.

He humiliated me.

A man asked if I was his wife and instead of saying no he said “she likes me but I don’t like her.” He said he was going to approach a lady and that she could be the love of his life right Infront of me…

He said he didn’t want to wear a shirt the same color as mine because he didn’t want people to think we were a couple.

Any chance he got he broke me down and humiliated me. He made me think I was ugly and fat. He made me cry day and night.

May Allah grant me justice. I want him to be in my shoes. I want him to experience what I experienced. I want him to be the beggar, and chase me.

I truly feel oppressed by this man. Can I ask Allah for this and for the roles to be reversed and for him to feel ever ounce of what he made me feel ?

I handle some of the marketing/community work for Al Huda, a prayer app made by a very small team for iPhone and Apple Watch. It is deliberately focused on the prayer day rather than trying to be an everything-Islam app: next prayer, full timetable, reminders, Qibla, iPhone widgets, Apple Watch, six complete Adhans, Ramadan tools and travel tools.

There are no ads and no Al Huda account. Prayer times, the full timetable and basic reminders stay free; the advanced features are paid after 10 complimentary days. If you are browsing this thread for a calmer prayer app, that is exactly what Al Huda is built for.

share any tahajud miracles ..i jist wanted to share my story.......so i feel like evry single tahujjad dua i have ever made was always accepted so i feel basically spoilt by Allah lol however this one paticular dua i have been making for many many years has not been accepted...im just a bit overwhelmed and just need encouragement from you guys but plz if theres nothing productive to say refrain from replying!...so i lost a baby boy back im 2013 and then again in 2018 i lost my other baby boy in the meantime between those years i was blessed with a beautiful baby girl!...after that continously one paticular name kept popping up in one way or another Muhammad Ali ..this name you would not believe kept appearing out of no where after id do my namaz and my daily life!...i slowly started getting attached to this name and although i had moved on from trying for a baby as i have several health issues and cant easily carry pregnancy..and although eventually i had stopped making dua for a baby long time ago and didnt have the need in my heart anymore for another baby out of nowhere i was invited to umrah and made it all the way to the door of the kaaba and out came this dua out of nowhere that Allah bless me with a baby named Muhhams Ali..after my umrah even i was confused that where that dua even came in my mind from... after that for many many years i continued to pray and eventualy started begging Allah during tahujad to bless me with a baby boy altough it will nt replace all the pain of my loss of my two sons it will still help i prayed i will name him Muhammad Ali.... i evetually started all my namez never missing a single and tahujjad became a part of my life ..even without an alarm i started waking up exaclty at tahujjad time...i started daily dhikr and reading surah yaseen every morning..i started getting even more close to Allah and asking Allah for Muhammad Ali bacame a routine dua for me ...a few months ago i got pregnant shockingly this was a surprise for us as it may sound silly although i was praying for it was not trying for pregnancy and m pregnant now n just found out its a girl again.although am happy im still sooo attached to Muhammad Ali whom i thought i would get this time...i do feel by far these 7 years of tahujjad ,constant duas and dhikr i guess my dua was not accepted!..i do have to say i was abit taken back as i really thoughtAllah would accept my begging and crying i did all these years....i am confused how to let go of Muhammad Ali this baby that i created in my mind im sorry it sounds silly but i dnt know why i had almost created this baby boy in my head and thought Allah will dedinately give him to me..plz no bashing but how do i tell my mind that was never going to happen and i dnt even know where this idea randomly came to my mind either when Allah was never going to give me.. plz no bashing im just confused

assalamualaikum, I apologize if my english isnt the best. I am a father of 7. they are all of different ages. Question is why is my second youngest (we have another daughter born recently). Who is so obsessed with her phone. I think that this device is a distraction for our new generation. My second youngest daughter always does photos of her self with a pink flag. I am not sure if this is part of the lgbt (the gay community) like its their symbol, perhaps she is treating this as an idol? Is Lgbt a new gay propaganda that leds young peoole fall astray from the right path? My son showed me her social media account she does cartoons with colorful dogs and several flags. Also he showed me that she looks at naked women at Tiktok. I was very ashamed and I havent seen such madness in years of my existence. She says all her muslim friends are accepting of her being homosexual. My other children never indulged in such behaviour. Did the internet poison her mind. she always talks about zezir I dont know what that is but thats her new name apparantly. How did it all happen? I dont know what to do? All my other children who didnt grow up with this stupid internet didnt do this stuff. Not even the ones who played on the computer all day. I am worried and I am seeking help. Are times changing, is this the end of times? What should I do in this situation?

25M here, 2 years back, alhamdolillah performed Umrah and Rasulallah SWT says, who ever comes to Kaa'ba and prays what he desires, Allah will definitely grant him/her wishes.
So, i asked for a Woman, who i really love and like. For a fact i dont even know her whereabouts.
And they say that; if you pray and ask for something, between the Baa'ab of Kaa'ba and Hajar al-aswad, which is Al-Multazam, your prayers will totally be accepted by Allah. And i asked for her. I totally believe that Allah will place love in her heart and soon we will be united. But i dont know when. She is way out of league, i mean, there is no where i can be with her, because i am a nobody.
I long to marry her. I want to be with her, pray namaz with her, love her, wake up in the middle of the night and pray tahajjud with her, make dua to Allah with her and for her.
But i have started to feel that, its not possible. I also wake up in the middle of the night to pray tahajjud and ask for her. but i dont know.
The fact is i am telling no to other woman in arrange marriage, because i want to be with her.
And i recently heard some one saying that, god gives you a person who you need and not you want. So i am totally confused like what to do?
Like should i wait for her? or be with someone else?
Like even when i used to talk with women for marriage, i used to ask for her only; in namaz and tahajjud.
I mean i have prayed on KAA'BA to Allah for her, and i totally believe Allah will full fill my dua, but i mean; as i am a ghunegaar...... i really dont know what to do.

My Father Passed Away Unexpectedly

Salam! I'm in my 30s, stable career, home, wasn't married yet, but alhamdulilah life felt like it was coming together slowly. I started my week just like any other, a busy reluctant Monday working from home, and I got this call early in the morning. Too early.

I'm an immigrant, and with that come a huge time difference with my parents. Mom calls me frantic and tells my Dad passed away. I hop on a flight to get home. Takes me 3 days. My dad was on business travel when it happened so we spent almost a week stressed trying to get him for the Janazah.

Now, here I am. My world is completely changed. I learned that my dad took a significant amount of loans for his business, and my mom's home is on lien. I feel so helpless. Every other day I undercover some new fire thats burning and needs attention. My brother is older and he left us knowing he did not want to deal with all this chaos.

I'm here, my reality shattered. Realizing that Allah has put in the hardest test I have ever had to endure. I don't care about money, I just want to be there for my Mother. But, I can't bring her back to the US with me, and I need to rely on her family to take care of her. I feel uneasy and helpless.

My Dad helped so many people in his life, but I feel hurt that he left us (his family) in this situation. Almost resentful, that I cannot climb out of this hole. I can't imagine giving my career and job, and I hate that I have to choose between my Mom and Career.

I ask for your Duas and support. Please share your advice on trying to find a path ahead.

I 20M am the eldest sibling and am having trouble dealing with my little sister 18F. Last week she’d asked me if I could give her a lift to a friends house and I agreed after asking which friend and what they’d be doing (mundane in-house activities). As we got in the car she changed her mind and asked me if I could drop her off to a local park where she could meet up with the friend there - plans had seemingly changed. She begged me to tell our mother that I had dropped her off to her friend’s house rather than the park which naturally made me a little suspicious. We got to the park and I told her I’d need to see her physically meet her friend before I left, she waved this away and indicated to her friends bitmoji on her snapchat maps saying she was just a couple minutes walk into the park. I didn’t want to press too hard and said sure but she’d have to text me as soon as she found her.

Fast-forward a few hours, I had also been out with friends and upon getting home I find my mother upset beyond belief and my sister in bed apparently sick. I ask my mother what had happened and she said she had gone to my sisters friends house to pick her up but she hadn’t been there all day and that same friend she had supposedly gone to meet at the park hadnt seen her all day either. So, obviously, my sister had gone out to meet people she didn’t want us to know about. I tried getting it out of her but she remained stubborn and amazingly kept up the lie that she had met that friend and that they had eventually gone back to her house despite the friend explicitly stating she hadn’t met my sister that day. She had apparently felt sick and got an uber home while my mother made the journey to pick her up.

A day later I get a call from my cousin sister telling me she needed to talk to me and asking me if I was alone. She then told me a friend of hers had spotted my sister in the park with few girls and a guy smoking weed (which explains why she felt sick upon arriving home) and if I knew anything about it. This absolutely blew me away as we’ve had a strong deeni upbringing and hard drugs would never have crossed my mind as an issue we’d have to deal with. I’ve still not got a clue how to address my sister. I’ve been giving her the silent treatment since and she now knows I know but still hasn’t made any effort to apologise or think of ways to make things right. If I brought this up with my mother it would absolutely devastate her as she is an ‘aalimah and teacher at a few madrasah’s and she’s already had to deal with her going out and meeting other boys (and even bringing them into our house when we weren’t home). My sister isn’t a child anymore and I don’t want to sit her down and give her a gentle talk, we’re past that and know it won’t work. I also understand I failed my due diligence letting my little sister go without completely checking beforehand. How can I approach this from an Islamic point of view?

Assalamu alaikum.

Your reply feels like a sign from Allah to me

I want to ask Allah something today; I'll tell my story. It's a short one, but ...😔

I’m 30 years old and I'm really struggling in my life; praying brings a bit of peace

Since the moment I was born, I’ve only seen pain – fights between my parents, taunts from people. I always hid my sorrow and kept a smiling face, but I've been talented since childhood; I had a great voice. I am a good person; Allah has given me a good heart and I've always been fearful of Him.

I get depressed because of my parents, especially because of my mother. I cry a lot to Allah because of that.

Because of depression, I used to stay home a lot, and it became really difficult. I also picked up many bad habits in loneliness.

However, when I repented to Allah a year ago, a lot changed in my life. I overcame an 8-9 year old bad habit, and it’s almost been 6 months, alhamdulillah.

But because of my parents, I still sometimes get angry. I’m still praying and being patient; I've gained a lot of strength in patience, but I have never done anything wrong, never envied anyone. Allah has given me a religion full of love without hatred, but every time I feel a lack of risk-taking and a lack of focus on work, I end up struggling. When old memories come to my mind, I have fights with my mother, and then out of fear of Allah, I seek forgiveness from her and start serving her, but she doesn’t change.

Now I pray to Allah every day, perform my prayers, cry in prostration, and wake up for Tahajjud. I've been doing this for the past year. I feel a lot of tension about my marriage and livelihood as I age, and sometimes I get depressed.

I feel like it’s too late for me; Allah has given me so much talent and a bit of knowledge too, alhamdulillah. I’ve changed a lot from before, but sometimes it feels really difficult.

I want Allah to make me a source of sustenance so that I don't depend on anyone. I've become quite stuck; when I think about getting married, the fights between my parents make me really depressed. My dad is great, but he's also struggling because of my mom.

In the city, we have our own house, and we have a lot of land in the village, but my halal sustenance is something I probably can't even explain the situation about; I’ve given up a lot to please Allah, including many friends who were not right for me. People have always envied me because of my talent, and my parents, due to their fights, never paid attention to me. I've been in depression since childhood, which I realized only after a long time is an illness. I’ve gotten really stuck in my life.

Please tell me, based on the knowledge Allah has given you, what should I do? This answer could be a sign from Allah for me; it means a lot to me. I seek everything that brings me closer to my Lord, and He will surely help me and grant me good understanding.

I’m from India

Peace be upon you

Assalamu alaikum
I’m a high school senior from Illinois, and I’m applying to Northwestern this year. Northwestern has always been my dream school and my goal throughout highschool. I would really appreciate if you guys could make duʿā for me that I get accepted InshaAllah. I really want to spend my life making a big impact, helping as many people as I can, and using my education and opportunities to give back to others. I truly believe Northwestern could be a vessel toward that success and help me become the person I hope to be, and I’m praying that all of my effort leads me there. However I also strongly believe in the power of dua.
I live in Illinois and, for family reasons, I’m not able to go out of state for college, so Northwestern is especially so so meaningful to me.
So if you have a moment, please make dua that Allah grants me admission to Northwestern, puts barakah in my journey, and allows me to use whatever opportunities I receive to help and benefit others. And of course, that whatever Allah has planned for me is ultimately khayr. أعلم أن كل ما يحدث هو الأفضل
Jazakum Allahu khayran and please keep me in your duas.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah 🤲

I'm on the Muslim App team.

The Muslim App Creative Community is open. You make a short video about the app and send it to us, there's a content fee once we approve it, and when you post that same video on your own channels you keep earning from the views it gets there.

One video, two payouts.💵

There's no follower requirement, and that's deliberate. We've put close to $1M into influencer partnerships so far and follower count almost never predicted which videos actually worked. Some of the best pieces we paid for came from accounts nobody had heard of. So we stopped using it as a filter. 100k or 1k, same door.

No experience needed either, open worldwide, free to join with nothing to buy. There are ready-made ideas on the page if you don't want to start from scratch, and we come back with an outcome within 5 days.

And it isn't meant to be a one-video thing. Creators who do well move into an ongoing relationship with us, closer to being an ambassador for the brand than someone we book once.

Happy to answer anything in the replies.

Looking for Muslim brothers and sisters who can help me with my business — not financially
Assalamu Alaikum everyone.
I’m posting this with a little hesitation because I normally don’t talk about my struggles publicly.
I’m a co-founder of a UAE-licensed IT services and solutions company. We provide end-to-end IT solutions, including infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, hardware/software solutions, and related services.
The business is still new, and honestly, getting clients has been much harder than I expected. I’ve been trying continuously to build partnerships and bring in business, but lately the pressure has become overwhelming, and I’m finding myself falling into a very difficult place emotionally.
I’m not asking anyone for money or financial help. What I’m hoping for is help finding opportunities.
If you are a Muslim brother or sister working in business, sales, real estate, recruitment, consulting, construction, facilities management, or any industry where your clients may need IT services, I would genuinely appreciate:
• A business referral or introduction
• An opportunity to work as a partner
• Commission-based business development
• Someone who can introduce me to companies that may need IT services
• Or simply advice from someone who has been through the struggle of starting a business
I’m happy to work on a commission basis for successful business, so there is no expectation of doing this for free.
I believe sometimes Allah opens a door through a person we never expected to meet. Maybe this post reaches someone who can help me find that door.
If you’re interested in discussing a genuine partnership or know someone who might need IT services, please feel free to comment or DM me.
JazakAllahu Khairan to anyone who takes the time to read this, share it, or make a connection. May Allah put barakah in all of our rizq and make things easier for those who are struggling. Ameen.

Hi i am listening Rukje and i want to know if my body reaction is normal?!

So I am listening Rukje and i feel a really warm feeling on my face , after that the heardbeats become stronger and more noticeable , the warm feeling goes to my body , today it was a bit more different as the lungs became stiffer ( i have got a cold , maybe is it related somehow?! ).

This feeling happens only when i lay down on bed , rest and close my eyes while i listen Rukje with headfones on.

i was told that it’s better to read it myself but unfortunately i don’t speak arabic ( i plan on learning these suras and know their translation for a better effect ) .

i went to a Rukja performer and while i had a reaction for evil eye the first time -and i passed out when it was performed , the second time he didn’t remember me but there were a bit of body reactions to rukja as well. the third time too. As if i wasn’t healed entirely.

So now i want to know is some body reaction to Rukja normal , ChatGPD said yes

Why no one talks about perverts Makkah?

As in title, there are a lot of men touching women during Umrah/Hajj and it seems to be ignored.

u/Herejusttohelp 10d ago

I heard it a few times as well. Do you think it's deliberate or unintentional due to huge crowd?

u/Sad_Soft5912 10d ago

Definitely not, it's basically groping very often

Assalamu alaikum, I've been hesitant about posting here cuz it's basically my first time here. I'm a born Muslim and Arab. I'm also going to high school soon. While growing up everyone around me including my family listened to music.I was the same. I'm not listening to songs that much but i LOVE movies series and anime. Recently I found out that music is haram and I can't quit listening to it it's basically in my daily life. I started reading more and some said it's not haram I'm not really sure what's correct but I feel like it IS haram. When I think about it all I do in my free time watch movies and YouTube most of the time so if it is haram can someone tell me what I can do to replace those things I just can't find something I love doing.

After learning that music is haram I tried finding something else so I started reading Manga. I try to find good ones that doesn't have anything bad but yk Manga is basically anime without music so is it haram?

Another thing I wanna ask about is drawing I like drawing very much but now I discovered that drawing people and animals is haram but the drawings of mine are like anime so is that considered haram also?

I'm wearing the hijab but I'm also confused about what should I wear is wearing jeans and shirts without revealing my arms enough?

I also learned of something called school of thought in Islam? I don't know which one I follow but I'm just really confused about it. Like which one should I follow or which is true. I'm really trying to understand and accept what's really haram but it's kinda hard. So please give me advice.

I'm very sorry about the long post. Thank you for reading it.

Assalamu Alaikum guys! I am a 21 year old nursing student and I recently started working as a per diem phlebotomist at a hospital because as we all know, nursing school is really expensive and I need to provide for myself. While I know that it is not recommended to work while going to school, I have no other choice. I try to work as minimally as possible but even then I find myself exhausted from my day to day schedule. I am currently taking two classes which means I have in person classes twice a week and I usually work two days a week. I get a lot of homework and have quizzes every single week.

I know my classes are gonna get crazier in the future when I have to start doing clinical rotations and it’s gonna get really difficult. I also have not had any normal social interactions with friends and family in a long time. I am usually too tired to do anything or too busy with school and work. I miss being unemployed and having nothing to do. I know it makes me sound like a bum but still. I want to spend time with my family and just relax but I can’t until I finish nursing school. I know in the future I will have to work less but even then I feel scared.

I am getting serious anxiety attacks every night because of these things and I need some advice. Maybe some pep talk. I have been praying and reciting the Quran but nothing is helping.

I want to do nursing and I am determined but I am in general a very anxious person and I tend to overthink everything. I plan way too far into the future and get scared. Even now, I am getting anxious about clinical rotations, finding a job after graduating, and my life as an RN.

I need help from anyone. Please give me some advice. Every night I lay awake for hours overthinking while my heart rate goes crazy. I have been getting these nightly anxiety attacks for the last couple of weeks and it’s driving me crazy. Please share some tips. I would really appreciate it.

I don't know what to do anymore

I don't really know why I'm writing this here or what I'm expecting from it. I just feel really overwhelmed and I don't know where else to put all of this.

I've been feeling depressed and completely exhausted for a while. Not just physically tired, but tired of myself, my thoughts, everything around me, and honestly just tired of having to keep trying all the time.

I've been insecure for pretty much my whole life. I never really gave myself the right to make mistakes. I blame myself for things I did, things I didn't do, and sometimes even things that were never my fault. I don't really know how to forgive myself, and I always feel like I should've been different or done something differently.

I've tried so many times to get out of this mindset. There were times when I actually started loving myself and accepting myself, and I thought I was finally getting somewhere. But somehow, every time, I end up back in the same hole again.

I don't really feel supported either. I know people, but I don't have someone I feel genuinely close to or safe enough with to tell all of this to. I spend a lot of time alone, and lately I've started feeling like maybe I'll just stay like this forever. Like I'll always be alone and never really have a place in anyone's life or feel like I actually matter.

I also can't stop thinking about my past. Every mistake, every decision, every "what if." I keep thinking about how different my life could've been if I'd made different choices. Even things that weren't my fault somehow become another reason for me to blame myself.

And now I'm supposed to be preparing for my final years of high school, with my future basically in front of me, and I feel like I have almost no energy left. I know I should be studying and thinking about my future, but sometimes I barely have the energy to get through the day. I'm trying. I really am. I keep trying to study, fix myself, get back on track, and convince myself that I can still do something with my life.

But I'm exhausted, and then I start thinking that I'm never going to get the grades I need, that I'm going to mess up my future, and that I won't be able to fix any of this if I stay like this.

I also have health problems that have been making the physical exhaustion even worse, so even when I try to push myself, I never really feel rested.

Lately my thoughts have gotten to a place that genuinely scares me. I've started feeling like I can't trust my own mind anymore, and I hate myself for so many of the things I think about, even when I know some of them aren't actually my fault.

I've even become scared to sleep because my thoughts don't give me any peace anymore.

I don't even know why I'm writing all of this here. I don't know if writing it down is going to change anything. I just feel so suffocated and I don't feel safe inside my own head right now. I've kept so much of this to myself that I don't even know how to explain it properly anymore.I'm tired.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore. I just want all of this to quiet down for a while. I want to stop hating myself for everything and stop feeling like I'm constantly ruining my own life.

Assalamu Alaikum. I don’t know who you are or what your life is like but I can tell you one thing, these temptations are natural to us humans. Allah has given them to us as a test and it is our responsibility to try to avoid them. I have fallen into these temptations in the past as well. Talking to the opposite sex and the occasional flirting and stuff. I feel ashamed of myself but over time I realized these things simply weaken a person’s soul. I realized I was chasing temporary happiness and dopamine rush. I was chasing the approval of the dunya. I felt out of place because everyone else around me was participating in a lifestyle like that and it was hard to not fall into it. But over time I was able to strengthen my relationship with Allah because the guilt was eating me alive. I want to tell you, just the fact that you feel guilty means there is a part of you deep inside that wants to come back to Allah and seek forgiveness. Allah is the most merciful and our solace. Pray and recite the Quran. Ask for forgiveness. I have done the same and now I feel another type of tranquility. Trust me, take a look around and you’ll start realizing how harmful this type of lifestyle is. Sex is a very intimate and soulful thing which has been turned into a meaningless experience. One you realize how much it’s actually harming your soul, you won’t want to continue it. Seek Allah and feel the change. I hope you feel better!

Assalamu alaikum, everyone!

For Muslims in the USA, how do you normally find your masjid’s current iqamah and Jumu’ah times?

For example, do you check: the masjid’s website/app, social media(facebook/insta), WhatsApp group, printed calendar, another prayer app

Does your masjid notify you when the schedule changes?

Also, if you’re visiting a new city and want to attend a daily congregational prayer or Jumu’ah, how do you find the prayer times?

I’m also curious:

  • Have you ever arrived at the masjid and realized you were too early or too late for the jama‘ah?

  • Would reminders based on your masjid’s actual iqamah times be useful?

  • Does your masjid have a reliable way of sharing schedule changes?

For context, I’m working on building a nationwide directory that brings masjid iqamah and Jumu’ah times together in one place. I’m trying to understand whether this is a common struggle and what Muslims would actually want from something like this.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback or experiences.

u/makhachevluvr 12d ago

Assalamu aalaikum. I usually check the specific masjid’ website. Most masjids have their prayer times listen. If not, people should try calling the mosque ahead of time. Some masjids have outdated websites and don’t have anyone actively running them which is why it’s hard to find information unless you are directly involved with the mosque committee. I wish there was a common site to check these things but to be honest masjid’s are not very internet savvy.

u/abnormalpersona 12d ago

Where are you located in the US if you don’t mind sharing? I would like for you to check out NextSalah.com and see if your current state is supported by my app. This is the common frustration I am trying to solve. Even if a masjid has their times listed on their site, I think it’s nice to get alerts and set reminders when its X mins left for the Iqamah to start so you are reminded to go pray at the masjid

Question about hayd/istihada and missed prayers (Maliki madhhab)

Assalamu alaykum, I really need some help understanding my situation according to the Maliki madhhab.

Normally, my periods last around 5–7 days and come roughly once a month, although the exact dates can vary.

This time, I went about 2.5 months without getting my period. This started around Ramadan, when I was fasting. Then I first had brown spotting for about a week, followed by bleeding that continued for around 2.5–3 months. The bleeding was not always the same: sometimes it was a normal flow, then it would become extremely light, almost nothing, but it never completely stopped. I never had a period where I was completely free of bleeding.

Now I have bleeding again that feels like my normal period.

The important thing is that I did not know about the distinction between hayd and istihada before this happened. I thought that as long as I was bleeding, I was not allowed to pray, so I stopped praying during this whole period. I genuinely did not know that some of the bleeding could be considered istihada, during which I would still have to pray.

I am now very worried and confused about what I should do.

According to the Maliki madhhab:

  1. How should I determine which days were hayd and which were istihada in my situation?
  2. Do I have to make up all the prayers I missed during this period, even though I genuinely did not know about the distinction between hayd and istihada?
  3. When exactly should I start praying again? Do I have to wait until the bleeding completely stops, or should I be praying now?
  4. Do I need to perform ghusl at a particular point before starting to pray again?

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact dates, but I can give more details about the bleeding if needed.

JazakAllahu khayran to anyone who can help. ❤️

Salam. I was involved in a cultural school club for 2 years before I was a hijabi. I left the club due to health issues. I told the president at the time I did not want to be on the club social media but she still posted me and other people and was annoying about it tbh. Honestly she was really peer pressurey and would not take no.

Anyways, I recently came across the page and there are still photos on me and my cousin on the account.

I asked the current president but she's saying she's busy right now(she can login and knows the details) but could meet later (i already asked her this week, so when should i ask her again?)

I have the old president's phone number. We were never friends, just friendly and have not texted in 2 years. How would I go about approaching her to give me the info so I can delete posts including me and move on? I think she will say no and then talk crap about me. There are posts of 2 years on the account so it's not just one or two I can tell them to delete.

I don't post myself at all even before becoming a hijabi (i never been a social person) and wish all of this never happened. If you have no advice please pray the current president agrees to meet up with me next week and I can do what I need to do and move on. I don't have the mental strength for this.

I don’t know if weather or not this was a sign from Allah I’m lost.

I live with a weird man. One day I woke up with soreness and light bleeding. I can’t help but think to him because I live with him and he’s been creepy before, so I make dua to Allah crying and begging for a sign for clarity on wether or not he did something. A few seconds after making that dua I see someone in my doorway through my mirror while I’m laying down, it’s him, and as soon as I turn around to see why he’s just there staring he goes downstairs it was so eerie and had me genuinely panicking because i don’t know if this is a sign. Is this a sign or not how do I tell??? Are signs from Allah something your absolutely sure of or could you miss a sign from Allah. But why would Allah give you a sign that you wouldn’t know whether it’s a sign or not.

u/Xyaxsu Detective 13d ago

Yes, trust your feeling, intuition and signs.

if you feel there is something off and weird about a person, probably your feeling and intuition are correct...always ask Allah for clarification.

Now, that you know, what are you going to do about it? can you move to another place? May Allah protect you. Ameen.

u/Ashamed-Way8017 13d ago

My gut tells me it’s not possible because I would’ve woken up. But what’s bothering me is that so I don’t know if it’s a sign or not I’m just confused

I genuinely don't know what to do anymore

I've liked someone for almost a year. He's genuinely a good person, and he takes his deen seriously. I've constantly made dua for him, prayed Tahajjud, and asked Allah that, if this person is good for me, He makes things easy for us and opens the right doors.

But now my family has started putting pressure on me to get married, while he still hasn't found a job and isn't really in a position to move forward with marriage yet.

I'm getting emotionally and mentally exhausted. I keep praying, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to take from all of this anymore.

I know that Allah's timing is better than mine, and I know dua isn't a promise that we'll get exactly what we ask for. But when you've prayed for something for so long, it's really difficult to know whether you're supposed to keep having sabr or accept that maybe the answer is no and let go.

I don't want to make a decision based purely on my emotions. I also don't want to keep waiting indefinitely while my family is pressuring me.

Has anyone been through something similar? From an Islamic perspective, how do you know when to keep making dua and have sabr, versus accepting that Allah may be redirecting you?

I'm honestly just looking for some perspective because right now, I feel completely lost.

is it haram to feel like ive been stripped from all rizq and barakah?

Asalamu alaikum. just asking this because im at a strange point of my life where it feels like ive been stuck in the same place for a while now. all i can say is that it feels like the sins of my past and of my doing have finally caught up to me as for months i have felt like everything great i have had is stripped from me due to my own wrong doing. Ever since i cam back from holiday last year after doing things i shouldn't i have felt my life slowly shift negatively such as realizing im falling back into sins that i havent done in years now and all my hard work with my deen is eroding before my eyes from lack of opportunities to good things leaving me out of my own foolishness.

Although i feel myself stripped, i dont hold any blame towards Allah yet i still struggle building that connection i once had with him. right now i just feel uncertain with my life, not that idk what to do but rather idk where its going to go.

also i acknowledge having simple blessings such as food and a place to stay alhamdulilah, i meant things that would help excel my life circumstances, or am i just destined for what i have now

u/GiraffeOk2570 16d ago

i'm so stressed about something. Please pray for me i have a meeting and i am hoping it goes well. Thank you.

u/AriaZeqiri 16d ago

Assalamu alaikum everyone,
I’m posting this because I’m looking for advice from people who have genuine knowledge of Islam, ruqyah, sihr and jinn. I want to explain the full background because I think the context is important.
There was sihr done on my family, which particularly affected my parents. My sister was affected first and, at the time, she was experiencing what we understood to be possession. Alhamdulillah, she is doing much better now.
Around two years after what happened with my sister, I became affected myself. This happened while I was reciting Qur’an for several hours. I had also been performing self-ruqyah, and I believe that may have aggravated what was already there.
The raqi I went to said that the sihr had been done to my parents with the intention of splitting them apart. During my ruqyah, there appeared to be two jinn involved — one Muslim and one non-Muslim. The raqi explained that this could be why I was still able to pray and recite Qur’an without being completely overwhelmed by the affliction.
Alhamdulillah, everything eventually settled down. In fact, I feel that the whole experience brought me closer to Allah. It opened my eyes, strengthened my iman, and made me much more conscious of Allah. Since then, I have consistently read my adhkar and tried to keep my guard up spiritually.
For the last couple of years, my life has genuinely been good. I’ve felt happy, stable and like I had moved past everything.
Then yesterday, something happened that completely unsettled me.
I work with my friend for investors working on new high-rise towers in the UK. Yesterday, we decided to stay at work and eat in the office. We got some food and went back into one of the buildings. The building is technically vacant/new, and apart from security downstairs, there was nobody else in the building.
While we were eating, we put a movie on.
My friend suddenly said she could hear heavy breathing.
I stopped the movie and replayed the exact part around three times because I wanted to make sure there wasn’t actually breathing in the audio. My friend continued saying she could hear it, but I couldn’t hear anything.
Then, suddenly, I felt an incredibly intense heat come over me. The best way I can describe it is that it felt as though a plastic bag had been wrapped around my entire body, from my head downwards, with the oxygen being removed. It felt as though something was trying to enter me.
I resisted it extremely strongly.
I started crying because I genuinely felt as though I was getting close to letting it in. My friend immediately reacted and started reciting Qur’an/ruqyah at that moment.
Something strange happened to her too: she felt a very strong locking sensation in her jaw, to the point where she couldn’t move her mouth properly.
The second episode happened while I was getting up. I suddenly froze and hunched over. It lasted around 30 seconds, and again I resisted it.
Then, while I was walking out of the room, something similar happened again. This time it felt as though I was being attacked from behind.
There is another part of this that I find particularly strange.
While this was happening, I saw what appeared to be the transparent outline of an old man sitting at one of the desks in the office. He was looking at me and seemed to be smirking.
My friend did not see the old man.
However, she was the one who heard the heavy breathing that I couldn’t hear.
That’s one of the things I find so strange — I saw something she didn’t see, while she heard something I didn’t hear.
I also want to mention something else because I don’t know whether it’s relevant Islamically.
When we go out, we generally try to keep to ourselves and ignore advances from men. On this particular occasion, we had noticed men staring at us quite intensely. I can’t help wondering whether something could have followed us because of this, or whether something could have already been present in this particular building because it is vacant/new.
I obviously don’t know whether either of those explanations is correct.
Since my first experience with what I understood to be an ‘ashiq jinn, I’ve also become extremely intuitive about people’s personalities and intentions. I don’t know whether this is connected to what happened to me previously, but my intuition about people has been unusually strong and has genuinely helped me avoid certain situations.
I also want to stress that I have not been living in fear or obsessing over jinn. Quite the opposite. I’ve been happy, I’ve been praying, reading my adhkar and generally living my life. That’s why yesterday was so disturbing to me — it felt completely out of nowhere after such a long period of being fine.
I understand that people may suggest physical, psychological, environmental or other explanations, and I’m open to hearing those too. I’m not trying to force an interpretation onto what happened.
But given my family’s history with sihr, my sister’s previous experience, my own experience two years later, and then this sudden incident yesterday, I would really appreciate an Islamic perspective.
Could this potentially be related to jinn/sihr, or am I connecting things that aren’t necessarily connected?
JazakAllah khair to anyone who takes the time to read all of this and respond seriously.

Assalamualaikum, so recently my parents got in touch with some sheikh or moulvi(I am not sure what they are exactly) they sent the man pictures of our family and he said that we all have kala jadoo on us especially me having the most. Now he's given certain practices to do to slowly get rid of it:

Gave this bottle of blessed water where we have to shower with it like put a cap of the water in a bucket and fill the rest with regular water and shower or atleast take a normal shower and dunk some of that special water on us.

Rub some oil on our chest, neck and back areas.

Every 3 days burn this paper thing and sit and watch it together, no distractions.

Take a piece of our hair and nails and burn once a week.

And now it's to put this paper in our water and continue drinking water from that bottle.

I wholeheartedly believe in jinns, evil eye and all and preventative measures but I want to be sure what I'm being asked to do is Islamically right even and not shirk or Haram.

I'm unable to attach a picture of the paper that we've been asked to put in our water due to community rules, but would appreciate some genuine insight from someone knowledgeable. I unfortunately have no link to real scholars or sheikhs or anything right now and my doubts also come from the fact my parents are brainwashed pretty easily.

Has someone done sihr on me??

I have had left side pelvic pain for quite some time now. Plus hirsutism (pcos) started getting hair fall now (my hair used to be really thick and long. Always getting compliments). However, all blood test results are coming back normal. Ct showed possible hydrosalpinx but now during transvaginal it showed there is unlikely to be a hydrosalpinx. Plus infertility. Bruising easily and randomly. Plus one bruise has 5 pin like red dots but again it just appeared, no injury or anything. Ive never been able to get pregnant. Plus my blood pressure is coming high but doctors can't figure out why. They are saying they can't understand as my bloods and everything is coming back normal Please help...im so lost and yearn to be able to conceive.

u/nabaaaya 18d ago

It feels wrong to talk about this because I always thought this was something I had to figure out by myself. But I really can't do this anymore.
I feel like my life has always been full of hardships. Whenever one thing gets fixed, another problem comes. I'm only 18 years old, but I feel like I'm carrying the stress of a 40-year-old. I'm just so tired.
Ever since my father passed away, which was 2 years and 10 months ago, there hasn't really been peace at home. There is constant fighting, mostly between my mom and my brothers, and sometimes with me too. It really hurts me when they're angry or sad with each other, so I always try my best to help them talk and make things better. But I'm so tired. There is at least one fight every month, and it's starting to get to the point where I'm scared my family will grow apart and nobody will speak to each other anymore.
I keep asking Allah to make my life easier, but sometimes it feels like things just keep getting worse. I don't know what to do anymore. I just want to feel happy. I want to feel something, anything, instead of walking around feeling angry, sad, and empty, like I'm not even alive.
I know it's wrong to think this way, but sometimes I feel like maybe I'm not meant for this life and that it would be better if Allah took me back, if that is what is best. I truly want to be happy, but right now I don't believe I ever will be.
Please help me. I don't know exactly what I need—advice, a dua, anything. I just really need someone to listen and help me through this.

u/Classic-Attention680 18d ago

I came to Europe from Pakistan recently to study. I am only 20 years old and this is a completely new chapter of my life.

One of the biggest difficulties I am facing right now is the language barrier. I do not know the local language well yet and because of that I have been struggling to find a part-time job. I have been trying and looking in different places but so far I have not been successful.

At the moment I only have enough savings to cover around one or two months of my expenses. Thinking about what will happen after that has been putting me under a lot of stress. I am trying to stay positive and keep looking for work but honestly it has been difficult.

There is also something more personal that I have been thinking about a lot.

Before coming here I was not extremely religious. I was not someone who prayed all five prayers regularly. Sometimes I would pray two or three times a day and sometimes only once. Since coming here I have been trying to improve myself and at least make an effort to pray three times a day. I know this is not perfect and I know I still have a lot to improve.

I am not trying to present myself as extremely religious. I am just genuinely afraid of becoming distant from my deen.

Living in a European country at this age comes with a lot of freedom. There are things like alcohol, drugs and other lifestyles around you that may be completely normal here. Nobody is going to stop you or tell you what is right or wrong. At the end of the day you have to control yourself.

As a 20-year-old who is living away from family and everything familiar, this honestly scares me sometimes. I am worried that with time I might become careless about my faith or slowly move away from the values I grew up with.

So I just wanted to share this with my Muslim brothers and sisters here.

If you remember me in your duas, please pray that Allah keeps me firm upon my deen. Pray that Allah protects me from anything that can take me away from Him. Pray that He makes my situation easier, opens a halal source of income for me and gives me stability and happiness here.

I am trying my best. I am looking for work. I am learning the language every day and I am also trying to improve myself spiritually.

I do not expect anyone to solve my problems. I just wanted to let this out because keeping everything inside has been very stressful.

If you are Muslim and reading this, please make a small dua for me whenever you remember. It would genuinely mean a lot to me.

May Allah keep all of us firm upon our deen, protect us when we are away from home and make our difficulties easy for us. Ameen.

As-salamu alaykum. I'm very ashamed, but I have been struggling with OCD for almost a year now. I always end up spending more than 45 minutes in the bathroom. Can someone please answer my questions so I won't spiral anymore? They feel like such a burden. So, when I go to the bathroom, we use slippers in our household so we don't touch the ground barefoot. My first problem is that I always start taking off my clothes so that I don't have to change so many times a day. I'm scared that my clothes will touch the toilet or the floor, or that urine will splash on them without me noticing. My second problem is that we use a watering can to clean ourselves. To fill it, we have to put it in the sink. So the can that was touching the ground now touches the sink. And then I take it out of the sink and it touches the sides of the sink. While washing myself, I am very conscious of my body. Every time I feel splashes on my knees or on my feet, I grab wet tissues to clean my legs and wash the slippers. After standing up, I always use many wet tissues to clean the areas where I sat, in case they were dirty. Not everyone in my family closes the toilet lid, so it's possible that urine gets on it. After washing my hands, I feel like I need to wash the whole sink, especially the side parts where my body might touch it like my belly or elbows. Every time I ask myself if I am sinning because I use so much water and tissues and it's so wasteful. But I'm too scared that my prayers will be invalid. I also always argue with my brother when he puts slippers on top of other slippers, because to me it's like walking barefoot in a bathroom where there is probably urine everywhere. I tried to follow the rule that if I don't see any impurity, I shouldn't listen to the waswasa. But I never know if it's waswasa. How am I supposed to tell Allah that I couldn't see anything and didn't wash again, even though I could feel some splashes? I know He is merciful, but there are rules I have to follow, and staying pure is a big one. I'm begging someone to help me. I feel so helpless. And besides that, every time I go out and come home I don't know how to change my clothes. Because I am afraid that I sat on a bus seat that was impure and that I spread it all over the whole house. And that everyone's prayers become invalid because of me. I'm always scared for my trousers, especially the part that is over my shoes. What if I walk up the stairs and they touch the ground?

As salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. This is one of my first posts (I'm copy pasting this to some sub reddits) and I am desperate to seek any advice.

For background info: I am a revert Muslim woman who reverted almost 3 years ago living in India with a single father. I am currently completely dependent on my dad financially, and of course, due to our family ties. He does not know about my reversion.

Please don't get me wrong, I love my dad dearly. But it hurts so much to live with and hear these things coming from my own father. For sometime, my dad has developed an incredibly deep, irrational hatred toward Muslims. I am assuming this is heavily influeced by his social media consumption and his political ideology. It has reached a point where he completely dehumanizes Muslims, openly stating that they should all leave the country. He has also spoken vile, unspeakable things about Muslim women.

We recently had a very heavy argument regarding his extreme views which he didn't try to defend using reasoning. He straight up said that its his own "opinion" and kept saying he hates them. It got so intense that I broke down in front of him while trying to defend basic human decency. After the argument, he just laughed it off and went back to acting completely normal, as if nothing happened. This sudden shift is deeply confusing and exhausting to live with.

Because of this hostile environment, I am completely unable to practice my faith to the fullest. I cannot observe the hijab, unable to fast or practice much without putting myself in a risk.

My main question to the community is: Is there any safe, psychological, or practical way to change his mindset and steer him away from this extreme hatred? I know that in the end, it is entirely up to Allah to guide whom He wills, but I am struggling with how to handle this.

How do I manage my daily environment, protect my mental peace, and handle my spiritual journey under these conditions? Any advice from sisters or brothers who have faced hostile families would mean the world to me.

JazakAllahu Khayran.

u/Rude-Flamingo9885 21d ago

Hi, Muslim community! I need to ask you guys something because I genuinely don't understand this.

I'm not Muslim, but the guy I've been seeing is. The thing is, he's moving to another country for work, and we've been talking about what that means for us. He says we can't stay together, not just because of the distance (although that's obviously a big part of it), but because of our religious differences.

He's Muslim, while I'm… honestly, I don't know what I am. I'm still figuring out my relationship with God. Something happened in my life that really strained my relationship with God, so I'm currently in a weird place spiritually.

We've been seeing each other for 4–5 months now, and we've shared some intimate moments. We understand each other, we love each other, and we have very similar values and visions for the future.

And yet, he says he's sinning by being with me.

I genuinely don't understand. Why would someone walk away from a genuine relationship with a person they love because of a difference in religion? I've been good to him, and he's been good to me too. We've cooked for each other, he's shown me so much of his culture, and I've tried to explain my own background and my relationship with religion so he could understand where I'm coming from.

Does it really make sense to leave someone you genuinely love just to try to find someone who's more "similar" to you religiously, even if you don't have the same connection with them?

I'm not trying to disrespect Islam or tell him what he should believe. I genuinely want to understand the Muslim perspective here, because from my point of view, it's really difficult to understand.

Why would being with me be considered a sin if we genuinely love and care about each other?

I really don't understand it, so I'd appreciate hearing your perspectives.

Asalamu Alaikum,

I’m not sure if this is right community to be posting this in.

An elderly family member has just been re-admitted into hospital after being discharged a few months ago.
This family member has got a lot of fluid in their body hence the admission. The doctors have said that they’re at risk of another heart attack and if it comes to it, they have asked us as a family whether we would want them to resuscitate the family member or not?

Medically they have advised that if they do attempt resuscitation, the patient could become brain dead and be placed into a coma. So medically speaking they’re advising against it.

My question is, what does Islam say regarding this?

Met a girl recently and things started off really well. Conversations flowed easily and we both valued being upfront and transparent about things from the start.

About a week in, she was curious about my standards and what I look for, so I ended up laying out a sexual preference that is a non-negotiable dealbreaker for me long-term. Just to clarify, it is a fairly common preference these days, but it is a core compatibility requirement for me.

It overwhelmed her at first. She took some time to process it and came back with a very honest and mature message. She realized that knowing it was a hard dealbreaker for me created a lot of mental pressure and performance anxiety for her. She admitted she would constantly worry about whether she was meeting that ideal or if she would make me less attracted to her. Because of that weight, she decided it was a dealbreaker for her too, and we called it quits cleanly and respectfully.

On one hand, dropping that kind of conversation early on added heavy pressure right out of the gate. On the other hand, it put cards on the table immediately and saved us both weeks or months of forcing a fit where the core mechanics do not align.

Radical honesty upfront is rough, but it filters out mismatches fast. No hard feelings at all, and we parted ways with total mutual respect, but it cemented the idea that I want someone who is genuinely down for it from the jump.

What do you guys think? Given that dead bedrooms lead to divorce, should people discuss intimacy compatibility prior to marriage?

Are You This Kind of Muslim?

I have a question for the “middle path Muslims.” Those of you that indulge in things that aren’t the best such as movies and TV shows without it affecting your imaan. Maybe specifically other American Muslims.

I’ve found in my personal life I’m doing either one of two things, entering an extreme of doing all prayers including tahajud for a couple of days or even weeks, avoiding movies, TV shows, music unless it’s in the background, and isolating myself from people. But still video games sometimes/youtube shorts.

OR

I am a complete degenerate missing all my obligations and indulging in horrible unspeakable sins.

To add context to this I am in need of ruqya so maybe this drastically affects why I can’t just a flawed Muslim who tries his best and am instead someone who sinks all the way to rock bottom or goes to unsustainable heights (for my standards). I have had some success with it but I’m just inconsistent and tbh my heart is resistant to wanting to cure myself.

I guess my ideal sustainable path is to perfect the pillars of Islam, do my best to avoid minor sins, watch movies/TV shows occasionally but lowering my gaze, but still also having some Quran/Salawaat/istighfar, morning and evening adhkar in my daily routine. (Basically a little bit of everything consistently). And doing a lot of on the ground work, helping people who need it etc for the sake of Allah as opposed to spending free time only doing at home worship or indoor indulgences This isn’t concrete at all ofc I am just yapping.

TLDR: I am either praying 5x a day + tahajud, avoiding pretty much all sins, or then I watch let’s say an episode of a tv show (Just an example, I haven’t watched tv series in years, a more realistic example is let’s say doomsscrolling YouTube shorts). And then I just fall into rock bottom. I beleife ruqya would help a LOT with this isssue but I’m inconsistent in doing it.

My grandmother's first night in her grave

I'm fearful and somewhat worried about what might happen to her. She was a Christian, and I prayed to Allah (swa) to grant her Jannah (return to God). I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. I would like you to pray for my grandmother and also advise me on how to stop thinking about it, as I feel a fear and a very strange sensation that does not allow me to be at peace.

u/WreckofWild 22d ago

Salam. I’ve really been struggling with self-esteem issues that are rooted from me feeing ugly. I’m a woman in my early 20s and someone who has been chronically ill since childhood so I pretty much grew up in a sheltered environment. I’ve started wearing the hijab too. I haven’t had the chance to take many pictures but whenever I see pictures of myself wearing the hijab I feel hideous. I don’t think the problem is the hijab itself, it’s definitely me. It has been affecting my social life. I stopped going outside, I avoid crowds constantly in the fear that someone might click a picture and I might pop up in the back somehow and then come across it in the internet and spiral again. I hate how square my face is and it looks even wider and boxy in the hijab. I know looks aren’t and all and trust me I don’t care if men don’t find me attractive. It’s because I hate it. I don’t like how it looks at all.

Nobody has called me ugly and it sucks that the only person who criticizes me is myself. I have tried therapy but my doctors only put me on CBT without exploring other options. I feel stranded and I’m even considering cosmetic procedures to feel better. What should I do?

u/Holiday_Air_35 22d ago

Please help, my muslim friend is suffering. I need help from muslim people. 🙏

My friend is from Pakistan and I'm from India. She's very close and important for me. She's been suffering from a Jinn. I know some about Jinns, i told her to pray everyday and sent her some prayers. Someone please help me. I don't know what can help her. Her situation is dire, her mother doesn't live with her and her family doesn't believe her. She's getting sick and that Jinn causes issues between me and her too because i ask her to not be afraid of that jinn and tell her to pray and recite namaz no matter what happens.

- l’exactitude des références utilisées ;

- la justesse des activités et des réponses ;

- la clarté des explications ;

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kile.app

Ever since I've cut my relationship with non mahram friends, my life has started to become more lonelier, it has been two years and despite that I do have practising muslim friends, I still find it struggle to cope with not being able to converse with non mahram except due to necessities. I believe that Allah taala will substitute with something better In Sha Allah. I just need spiritual motivation to keep doing khayr.

Should I move to the West for education/career despite concerns about fitnah?

Support/Advice

For those of you who seriously considered moving to the West for university and better-paying jobs but ultimately decided not to because of Islam, I’d really like to hear your experience.

I’ve heard people say that living in the West can put you through a lot of fitnah and that it can gradually affect your deen, especially when you’re young and living independently.

My main reasons for considering the West are pretty straightforward: education, career opportunities, and higher salaries.

For those who actually made this decision, whether you moved or stayed:

  • Did you feel that living in the West affected your Islam or iman?
  • Was it difficult to maintain your values there?
  • If you stayed in your home country, do you regret giving up the opportunities abroad?
  • If you moved abroad, do you think the benefits outweighed the religious challenges?
  • Looking back, would you make the same decision again?

I’m genuinely trying to understand this from people who have actually experienced it, rather than just hearing general opinions.

If you were in my position, would you stay in your home country or go abroad for education and career opportunities?

If a lot of a society is built on word of mouth and not the utmost intelligent indisputable and optimized logic matrices for what is good for humans in the long run then that will mess people and things up a lot more

Many countries involving islam. being straightforward and spreading this simple information should needs to mitigate a lot of violence.

It simply does not matter how long word of mouth from civilians have guided systems or how long a person heard highly emotionally intense and confident and strong words. If it is illogical then it is and it's best to start incorporating this face for everyone's collective and individualistic benefit.

note: I copied and pasted this and this is what happened to the format.

Salaam! Been thinking about this for a while and am curious.

Thinking about your actual purchases in the past, has a business being Muslim-owned affected where you’ve chosen to spend?
A) Yes — I’ve gone out of my way to buy Muslim-owned
B) Yes — I’ve chosen Muslim-owned when options were similar
C) Not really — it rarely affects where I buy
D) No — it doesn’t affect my choice

Keen to hear your reasoning.

Having question regarding music being haram.

So according to Hadith and Quran. Music is haram because it gives a wrong message to people due to basically lyrics it has and astrays from the path of praying to god and following the rules.

But my question is it is haram because it is distracting people from doing what we were made to be born for then what if the music has the lyrics which don’t disobey Allah or promote haram things rather give good messages and things which are like taught in Islam for example humanity and do’s and don’ts is that music also haram?

I have always tried to understand the reason for not doing haram things like zina relationships drinking and stuff which makes me be away from them and protect myself.

But over this topic I have questions. Can someone please help me if I am understanding this wrong or any authentic Hadith or verse is there for this particularly.

If she has asked Allah for forgiveness then u should accept her. You wpuld have also made mistakes in your past. She is a human being and every human being make mistakes. How can u be sure that the some other girl u will meet does not have a past, at least she is being honest with u. Every one has a past, what matters is there repentance. If u actually love her then u should accept it any how or be honest with her regarding the issue u have about her past, because she deserves love, without any conditions. The world has changed a lot every girl and guy has a past. This girl has been honest with u, maybe some other girl will not be.

Maybe I'm going crazy.
I'm Christina and I study in high school. This summer I became very interested in Islam and Arab states. I have a dream, if you can call it that: to learn Arabic, read the Koran on it and cover myself. In my country, they look at it with reverence, but I really want to get away from the world and constant views. I studied Islam a lot and it feels like something warm and close to me in spirit. Maybe someday I will move to an Arab country, cover myself and start a better life there.

So far for me and my family it's something remote impossible and condemnable, has anyone encountered this?

u/Xyaxsu Detective 24d ago

Keep going forward with Islam and take the step now of becoming Muslim.

You never know what will happen tomorrow.

Best thing is to live now as a Muslim and whenever possible move to a muslim country for an easy life, Inshallah.

I hope its allowed to request this here.

I accidentally had a quarrel with a person who was an undercover CID. Without mercy he kept bashing me and took my ID for whatever reason.

The quarrel wasn't even a huge deal I said "what the (ykw)" in confusion and he thought I was cursing him I agree i shouldn't have done that and I never get angry or curse in public, for whatever reason I did that then for the first time and it had to be that guy.

Please make Dua to somehow make him forget or forgive me for that, to have Allah change his heart.

I'm the only son in my family and I was born on the day of arafah, I'm supposed to be a blessing to my family, and I don't want this ruining it.

I've already had extreme issues with my imaan due to some things that had happened in the past despite my sincere praying and faith, and if this escalates any further and my family gets to know about it (god forbid) it'll take even more of a massive toll.

I request you guys to make duas for me. Jazak Allah khair

Struggling with same sex attraction F23

I have always felt more affectionate towards women even going back to 6 years old, I remember crying because the neighbors daughter was moving away and I remember how much I loved to hold her hand or spending time with her. Thinking back I can say I probably had romantic feelings for her even if childlike. Then the only guy I found remotely attractive through my middle school was a boy with blue doe eyes who looked exactly like a girl and I stopped liking him after he grew a bread. In high school I learned a little bit English and I finally knew that having same sex attraction was a thing. Also, I went to an all girls high school and in that I had crushes on some of my friends.

So since 13 years old I know that I am attracted to women and I have tried to find a way around it but Im 23 now and I really don’t know if it’s possible to move or even if I want to move because of my hate for the general population of guys. I just don’t know how to proceed and I don’t understand why I was born this way because as far as Im concerned I had no traumatic experiences growing up. Alhamdulillah my family life is and always been very supportive and loving, I have a great relationship with my dad and brother. I thought of everything atp and everything just boils down to being patient until I die. However, it is very hard to stay motivated when from multiple scholars I heard that gay muslims who dont go astray will just be turned to staight instead of being granted of our desires in heaven.

These thoughts constantly go in my head and it feels like world is the only place for me to at least get what I want so badly before I grow old and then I can repent idk. Like I dont want to think like this but it’s the truth. If I was a guy who can’t get with the woman of his dreams it’s very easy like sure I’ll just endure until I die. Instead, I’m told I can’t get what I want even if I force myself such a sad life.

I would appreciate any support really it’s really a tough test. May Allah keep our hearts steady on the right path.

(I apologize for any possible grammar mistakes or if some parts don’t make sense. I really wrote this in a haste and English isn’t my first language)

Your post has been removed due to violation of our Rule: Don't Spread Sins & Think Well of the Ummah -

  • Do not expose your sins
  • Do not spread faults of Muslims of their personal lives
  • Do not spread scandals, obscenity, and negativity about the Ummah
  • Have Husn al-dhan - think well of one another and the Ummah as a whole

Allah does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is Allāh Hearing and Knowing.
Quran 4:148

u/Happy-Inspector106 25d ago

It takes a lot to confess that and seek help. I admire that you were able to stop it once and inshallah you will be able to again. Also, you already know to repent and not let the act stop you from praying which is very good. That said it seems like you can solve it like any other addiction solving methods. Personally for me the best way to redirect such feelings is to find another outlet to replace it with. Like as soon as you get the urge find something else that you also loveee to do and keep repeating. Eventually your brain wiring will turn into the second programming you have done. But for it to work easy you gotta find something else that would stimulate you as much or something you really really love to do that can also be sustainable. Maybe watching a show, or talking to a comfort person etc. I actually struggle with it also but similarly I’ve also been able to reduce it somewhat because now I spend time being otp with a friend I really love until I fall asleep so I dont have the time to do it. May Allah help us all He is surely the most forgiving inshallah and we should do our best

Assalamualaikum. I would like to ask about a situation between two friends regarding money and debt, and I would really appreciate advice based on the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.

I have a friend whom I have helped financially several times when he was in desperate situations. I was there for him at least three times during difficult periods and lent him money.

There is money he has owed me since last year which he still has not repaid. At one point, he said he would repay me after Eid Fitr, but nothing happened and I did'nt bring it up afterward.

Then, in May this year, he asked me for financial help at least twice. He asked again in June and July. Around that time, our communication also started becoming distant. He later promised that he would repay me in early month of August, but then told me he couldn't. He only just started with a new job. I understand that.

But I also told him that I didn't mind if he could only repay me little by little. I wasn't ask everything at once. However, when I continued discussing about the money like timeline and everything, he made me feel as though I was a bad person for asking. He said that I only cared about money and even told me that I only knew 1% of Islam. He belittle and mocked me. He also said that I always looked down on him. I sincerely don't believe that I ever looked down on him.

This situation has made me very uneasy because I'm now questioning whether I have done something wrong Islamically by asking a friend to repay a debt.

There were time where I just want to let go the money, but I couldn't. Honestly, this whole situation just make me stressed. I feel as if I'm being used. How should I handle this situation without wronging him, but also without allowing myself to be wronged?

Here the questions;

-Is it wrong for me to ask my friend to repay the money he owes me, especially when the debt has been outstanding since last year?

-In Islam, if the debtor is genuinely struggling, what is the difference between being patient with him and allowing myself to be taken advantage of?

-Does Islam allow a debtor to make the creditor feel guilty for asking about repayment?

I genuinely want to know what my rights and responsibilities are according to Islam, because this situation has left me hurt, stress and uneasy.

Thank you.

I am a 27 (F) married to a 29 (M) for 3 years. We are blessed with a daughter Alhamdulillah 3 weeks ago. We are settled here in Australia.

A little backstory

I am the first daughter of 2 daughters in my family. My parents have sacrificed a lot throughout their entire lives to get me where I am today. They spent a lot of money for my education and to make me settled here in Australia. I met my husband in Australia fell in love and got married in this country. My parents liked my husband a lot before our marriage. But just a month before our marriage my parents sent my younger sister to study here as well.

We got married and it's been 3 years now. My sister is also living with us since she came. But my sister did not help with any house chores from day 1. And whenever I would fight with my husband at home she would call and tell my mother. Whenever me and my husband would tell her to help with house chores, she would call and tell me my mother. My mother would then call me later and her mood would initially be off. However then she would express her disappointment that her younger daughter is already working very hard and we cannot tell her to help with house chores. She would make it sound like me and my husband are abusing her. We then completely stopped her asking for help with house chores. But she would keep her room messy. If she would use anything in the kitchen she would keep it messy. Sometimes if she would come home from outside she would take put some of her clothes in the living room and just never put them on proper place and etc etc. I am naturally a short tempered person. I would easily get irritated with all these and tell my mother over the phone. She would listen and also listen my sisters side of the story and would eventually take her side as she is just a student.

I ahd some family dramas with my in laws as well including my brother in law and mother in law.

My family is socially in a better position than my husbands family and I am the reason he got his permanent residency in this country.

Considering all the above my mother keeps saying whenever she is angry with me that I married into a third class family to a third class cheap boy. He should be the one doing all the chores. How dare he asking my sister to help with chores. How dare he can order my sister. He should stay grateful to me and my parents forever for giving him the permanent residency.

There has been also incidents where my sister lied to my mother mentioning that my husband was drinking alchohol on one occasion. But I was the witness that he did not. My mother believed my sister but later I told her that I was there and it is not true. My mother said it's not my sisters fault. My sisters friend told my sister and gave her the wrong information. There has been also such similar incidents when my sister told my mother about my husband and me that we became physically intimate before marriage which she heard from our mutual social friends. My mother also believed them and it caused a huge fight and family drama as I became furious after hearing all these.

But my mother till this day keeps saying that my sister never backbited about me and my husband. She is a very innocent person. She would never tell anything bad about us. Whatever she has done before was not her fault. They were her friend's fault as they manipulated her. 1 year ago my sister left to live with her friends. But she had fight with her those friends and returned back to me. I never wanted her to leave my house

So I asked my mother to come to Australia during my last trimester. She has been living here for 3 months now. And we had like 4 fights. All about my sister. I would just say that my sister never helped with chores. I would share that my husband is still tolerating her after everything she said about us to family. My mother would immediately start yelling and cursing me. Saying that my sister is innocent which is why she still couldn't achieve her permanent residency. She is not as smart as me. I am very cunning which is why I was able to obtain permanent residency, got married and also am owning a house now.

She is also repeatedly saying that I married a third class man from a third class family. I will understand more once my inlaws comes to Australia to live in my house. As my brother in law is planning to come here for studies soon and would probably live with us. We also had previous fights and incidents with my mother in law, one elder brother in law and his wife. I agree that they are also very toxic.

My husband is also at some fault. He didn't offer to show around Australia much to my mother. He would be reluctant to go out whenever I would ask him to take my mother out to some sight seeing. He also never bought my parents any gifts. My mother has also been cooking and doing house chores since she came without anyones help. Nor my husband or my younger sister. And I am not helping around as well.

There has been huge fights lately with all these issues with me and my mother. My husband is normally not home when we fight. She keeps saying we brought her here only for house chores. And we did not take her out at all. I agree she is right about these. I am also short tempered. I cannot keep my head calm once she starts all these. I also start fighting with her.

She is also saying that we are not going to care about her when she gets old as she doesn't have a son. Also to add, my mother had suffered alot in her married life and been physically and mentally abused from her husband and in laws. So she is feeling hopeless about her own life. I am just done now. I can't take this anymore. I want to care for my parents but also don't want any trouble in my marital life. I don't know what to do.

She is saying she wants to go back home. So even if I buy her tickets for home. She would leave on a bitter note. I am clueless.

salaam alikum everyone!!

I have been hearing a bunch of things about qawamah and I am not sure what is correct. I was under the assumption that it came because a man in Islam has to pay for all his wife’s needs so if he doesn’t for whatever reason the qawamah falls. but I just heard recently that is come form the mahr the man pay to his wife so even if she pays half the bills with him she still has to obey. and on top of that scholars have made it impossible for a women to get married without mahr without a mahr. it kinda of feels like they are doing this to make sure the man is the head no matter what. but I don’t really know so if anyone has knowledge about this subject I would appreciate it if you answer my question.

Salaam all!

I'm bringing up the age old topic of hijab in hopes of seeing if anyone has similar experiences. I put the hijab on pretty soon after reverting over 4 years ago. I feel like my identity has changed a lot since and that in a way it doesn't represent me anymore. I asked my local imam about it and he says we have to wear hijab because without it men feel 'nervous' around women. I don't know what I think about this, hiding our beauty so that men don't lust over us. I actually initially didnt contemplate why I should wear it, just did it because I thought it was part of the 'deal'. It was a very big struggle for me with friends and family, and overall, and honestly I think that the struggle of putting it on is one of the main things keeping it on me right now. It would feel stupid to go through all that just to take it off now. I sometimes even wear it inside, when in front of extended family.

And I do not by any means want to make anyone feel insecure or bad about their hijab, more power to all the women wearing it. It felt empowering to me at first to disregard all the current beauty standards and it was kind of an ego death in a way. But the only reasoning I hear for it officially now is through men and this adultery perspective so its making me question the whole thing. I don't know what to think about anything right now... Anyone else went through this, or took it off and how did it feel for you?

Look, hijab is obligatory. It seems you understand that anyways which is good. Let me remind you sister that your parents love you and the fact they want you to dress modestly and cover your hair is out of concern for you. They dont want you to hate islam or make life difficult for you. That being said this life is a test my sister, we aren't here to enjoy ourselves, rather our real home is jannah. Thats the place where there is no worship and we are actually there to just enjoy the heck out of ourselves. Ik its hard seeing other non muslims women dress how they please, maybe getting attention, or maybe you like how they stay cool in the summer. Or maybe you even see your fellow muslim sisters not dressing modestly. But we worship only because Allah has asked. And he knows best the reason. Just know every time you sweat under the hijab. Or everytime it might feel itchy. Every time you are reminded of others enjoying themselves. All of that Allah knows and is rewarding you for it. I ask make the change to dress modestly not for your parents but for Allah. And remember one of Allahs names is Shakoor. (the most appreciative)

Assalam o Alaikum everyone. I’ve been having a hard time lately because one of my sources of income has really gone downhill. I get really worried about the money. I’m earning very less barely enough to manage. Sometimes when I hear people doing sins and having soo much money from haram ways, it makes me envy them. I completely despise the haram sources. My parents always earned halal and I also only want to earn halal but sometimes when I look at people who have it easy and have so much rizq, I start feeling a bit ungrateful.

u/sammyontop 27d ago

Walikumusalaam… May Allah give you sabr. I am in the same situation jobless from the past few months… May Allah reward you for your efforts on Halal Rizq and on avoidance of Haraam income. It is indeed hard. But trust me theres no Barakah in Haraam income. And in the end we have to answer Allah about every penny earned and spent on. Take some time and reflect upon these verses…

“And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.”
— Qur’an 2:155

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ
“Those who, when a calamity befalls them, say, ‘Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.’”
— Qur’an 2:156

“They are the ones who will receive blessings and mercy from their Lord, and it is they who are rightly guided.”
— Qur’an 2:157

Inshallah… have sabr.. Allah will provide you with things and blessings that you never imagined of. Ameen!

Muslim women raised in Europe: how independent are you?

I’d love to hear from Muslim women in their mid-20s who were born and raised in Europe but come from a different cultural/ethnic background.

**Are you living completely independently from your family? Do you have relatives or someone close by who you could rely on if you needed help?**

I’m asking because I’m currently struggling with this myself. My parents and siblings moved back to our parents’ country of origin. We kids were all born and raised in Europe, though. I stayed behind to finish my degree, which I’ve now completed. Until now, I lived in student accommodation, so although I was away from my family, I was never really completely on my own. Now I’m facing the next step: finding a job and my own apartment. And I’m realizing how difficult it feels to do all of this without having any family or relatives here or, in general, anyone I can turn to for practical things or even just to talk things through with. There’s nobody to come apartment hunting with me, help me figure things out, or simply be there when I’m overwhelmed or sick or need to go to the hospital.

**I haven’t found a job yet nor an apartment, so I will have to move back in with my family for now.** Logically, I know there is nothing wrong with that. In our culture, it’s completely normal for unmarried women to live with their parents well into their 20s and often only move out after marriage. And in my case it would only be temporary (I hope). But emotionally, I still feel like **I’ve failed somehow**. I feel embarrassed about going back, especially in front of my siblings. At the same time, there is a lot of pressure from my father to find a well-paid job in Europe. But I’m not even sure whether I can find one or whether I actually want to stay here long-term.

Sometimes I feel like I’m expected to figure everything out on my own. I know this might sound strange, but as the **oldest daughter**, I sometimes feel like I’m supposed to be the **man of the family,** the **“big son”** who gets a good job, earns well and is able to support everyone. That **expectation weighs heavily on me**. Finding a job here is already difficult and I also wear hijab, which adds another layer of uncertainty for me. My family tells me that I’m probably reading too much into things and that I shouldn’t assume my hijab is affecting my opportunities. Maybe they’re right, but I can’t completely ignore that possibility either. And this is where I feel especially confused: **my family had their reasons for leaving Europe, but now I’m expected to stay here and somehow build a successful, independent life on my own.**

What makes it even more confusing is that the expectations within my family are not the same for everyone. For example, my younger sister would not be allowed to move back to the country where we grew up and live there alone for university. If she wanted to study there, someone from our family would have to accompany her. Meanwhile, I’m expected to navigate everything here by myself.

I’m currently working full-time, trying to save as much money as possible before I have to leave my student accommodation. I’ve been so overwhelmed by everything that I’ve had **panic attacks**. I do have friends here, and I’m grateful for them. But most of them have family nearby, cousins, siblings, sometimes even parents or they’re already married and have built their own support systems. I am embarrassed telling them how difficult things have become for me. Everyone already seems so independent and it’s also what my parents expect from me (not from others though, they speak badly about women living alone, I don’t understand this **hypocrisy**?)

So I‘d really like to know in which kind of situation other women are. And how you deal with it.

Assalamu alaikum,

I’m the founder of Quran Chat, a small Android app built around a Quran-first approach.

The idea is simple: when someone asks a modern question, the app should not pretend that the Quran directly answers something it does not. It searches the Quran, shows the verses it used, and distinguishes between a direct Quranic answer and an indirect application of Quranic principles. If the Quran-only evidence is insufficient, it should say that too.

It is not intended to replace scholars or issue fatwas.

I’m looking for Muslims willing to stress-test it with difficult questions and tell me where an answer feels inaccurate, misleading, too confident, or untrustworthy.

If anyone wants to test it, I can share the Android link. Criticism is genuinely more useful to me than compliments at this stage.

I am gay, what should I do?

I have liked men ever since I was 9 years old. For no reason at all, I get aroused when I am around other boys and I have no desire for women at all..

As a Muslim, I feel guilt every single day over something that is completely forbidden and I really cant help but feel like I have been condemned into hell already.

At the same time, I have decided one thing, for my love for Allah, I will not act upon my feelings until the day I die. I will try my best not to kiss, touch or marry another man or have any intimate relations whatsoever. Because I have no idea what to do, and I dont know how to explain the fact that I didnt choose this, I didnt choose to be attracted to fellow men. I need help.

What should I do?

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Hello, my Muslim brothers and sisters. I’ve been thinking a lot about the topic of music, movies, TV shows, and entertainment in general, and I’m genuinely looking for some guidance.

From what I’ve read on websites like IslamQA and from discussions on Reddit, my understanding is that music and certain forms of entertainment are generally considered haram, while movies or shows may be permissible if they don’t contain things that are haram, such as music or inappropriate content. However, it feels like almost everything today contains music even random gaming videos, educational/infotainment videos, advertisements, etc.

I’m not trying to argue that music is halal or find a way to justify it. My question is more about how a Muslim is realistically supposed to deal with this when music and other forms of entertainment are practically everywhere.

Another thing I struggle with is feeling disconnected from my friends, including Muslim friends. They often make jokes or references based on trending movies, shows, memes, or other forms of entertainment, and I sometimes have no idea what they’re talking about. It can make me feel isolated and, honestly, sometimes even boring or left out.

People often suggest things like going for walks, spending time with family, reading, exercising, etc. Of course, these are good things, but I’m specifically wondering about entertainment. What can a Muslim actually do for fun and relaxation in the modern world while still trying to stay within the boundaries of Islam?

I’m asking this sincerely. I’m not looking for an answer that simply tells me “everything is haram” or “just avoid it.” I want to understand how other Muslims deal with the temptation to fit in and participate in modern entertainment, especially when avoiding it completely can make you feel disconnected from everyone around you.

If anyone has struggled with this themselves, I’d really appreciate hearing how you dealt with it and what helped you.

JazakAllahu khairan.

2 or other few solutions you may adapt to as best of your knowledge.

1/ As stated from the Hadiths. Follow it up with a good deed anything sort of good deeds and then make 2rakat salatul istigfar that way you are not only doing these deeds like a robot but ironing the mind. And sooner after you are coming to realisation.

2/ Also, morning and evening adkhar (rememberance) 3 Quls and blow on the palm of your hand to your face, head and chest. And busy yourself in dhikr keeping the mouth moist.

3/ optional, anything you know best according to the Quran and sunnah or genuine relief such as dikhr or istigfar.

Feeling like my iman is so low and it is as if I do not want to improve to be honest which is worse

u/Calanais-guy Aug 08 '26

I'd like to ask a general question here about how mainstream Islam would view the existence of other religions, worldviews, and philosophies, and secondly, their adherents. Is it that most belief systems have some wisdom or merit, but Islam is "the best" for all time?

Would adherents of other perspectives be thought of as sincere and doing their best? How does Islam think that God will judge them at the end of time?

This is my first time commenting on here and I also wish to gauge how tolerant Islam is of other perspectives. Thanks.

Selam Aleykum liebe Geschwister,

Assalamualaikum

I’m a 26 year old muslim woman who is starting to think about marriage now that my career is stable and I feel like I am mature enough.

I have never spoken to a man for longer than 2 months before I realize he is not marriage material and I move on. but now I am unsure of what is marriage material anymore. It’s no longer about whether he has a good salary or a house or a car, I’m worried about his morals, his fear of Allah, will he protect me and keep me safe or provide for me?

I am used to a certain lifestyle because my family is comfortable alhamdulilah and I have no problems buying the things I want on my own but I am worried he will tell me not to do it or tell me what to do with my money which I know is haram in Islam but unfortunately it’s a cultural thing. what if we fight and he tried to hit me or raise his voice and curse me out? What if I condemned to a loveless marriage or I choo wrong and it ends up destroying my life?

unfortunately none of these things can be known during the engagement period and I’m afraid it’s all lies in the beginning.

any tips from my fellow brothers and sister?how did you know he or she was the one for your deen and your duniyah?

u/sammyontop 27d ago

Walikumusalaam.. i am not married but I have come across marriages that went wrong ( families and friends ). The marriages that went wrong had one thing in common. They never talked about things that should have been discussed before marriage.. I completely understand how it feels to have so many questions.

When you select a person .. please do have a conversation about all of these things. Tell your guardian about it and tell them to arrange it for you. Ask him about things that you want to. Apart from that.. ask him things about islam and his views on certain things. That will make things more clear for you. Ask him how does he feel about you earning… about you saving for yourself and maybe contributing a part of it to the family. Whatever questions you can ask. Ask him. Leave no stone unturned.
Now there are people who may lie.. but you can easily catch if a person is lying during the conversation.

This is something you should do.
But the most important thing…. Without Allah’s help there wont be any solution. Perform Salaatul Istikhara.. 2 Rakaath and then theres a dua to be read after that(google it)… read it and just do the questioning part. Inshallah.. put your trust in Allah. Because he is the only one that won’t let you down.

May Allah make it easy for you! Ameen!
