Discussion A lot of SRS talk here is understandably focused on seggs. But for those who’ve had it, what’s it like to pee?
Are you going more frequently? For shorter durations? Any change in sensation? Do you still have to aim?
Just a thought a socially transitioned, pre-HRT girlie like me had in the women’s restroom yesterday

More or less the same frequency (more frequent for the first few weeks). It might be a bit quicker as the urethra is shorter. There is definitely less of a lag time between muscle contraction to pee and pee coming out as the urethra is shorter.
I kind still have to aim a bit as my stream is crooked and vulva skin vlcan be in the way. I often end up peeing a bit on my right butt cheek. At first I thought I was broken and my vulva was not "cis like" then read a few testimonies from cis woman making me understand my situation is pretty common and in the range of cis woman vulva possibilities.
When I say aim, I mean play with my forward and backward orientation, play with how together or appart my legs are, etc.
But it clearly feels a lot less dysphoric!

I don't have this problem rn but it was there for couple months post srs. I quickly learn that it's not a trans exclusive issue because my cis friend asked me if I peed my ass yet randomly (she is very straight forward but overall lovely person) and I found that shit like that happens especially post sex

My experience has been wild. I was still stealth after having my procedure and would go to the men’s restroom. So one day I’m doing my business and I noticed how erratic the pee hits the toilet. Obviously not a male stream, when I left the stall I got some curious eyes lol.

That's something I hadn't thought of until I started using the women's room full time a few months before my SRS. The sound of peeing is way different. With a vagina the urine drops from toilet seat height so it's a bit loud. Sitting and peeing with a dick would usually shoot it at the inside of the bowl and it runs down. It might sound silly but I was kinda insecure about it for awhile. I was worried it would out me or cause questions. I would often position things so the stream was coming out at a similar position and height, so the sound was similar. Thankfully now I don't need to worry about that anymore.

Stealth usually means you pass as the gender you are and people don't know you are trans, you probably mean boymoding or closeted if you still presented as male

Like switching from a sniper rifle to a sawn off shotgun, aiming is a very different experience and the stream is usually wider. Usually I dab it with some toilet paper afterward to make sure it’s all gone.
Also you need to wipe front to back, that was a change for me.
I remember my first time peeling post op and for a second being like “yo I have NO idea exactly where this is gonna feel like it’s coming from and what direction it’s gonna go this is wild”

Peeing is very validating, and even after a year i still look down and smile 😅.
That being said, i climbed snowdon in the middle of the night and didnt want to squat to pee....as i was running into the public bathroom once i got down i felt...a warmth 🤣. Straight up peed myself for the first time since i was a kid...so thats new lol.

Frequency and volume the same. It's messier, pee goes on you more than with a penis. You sorta can't “aim”. I don't have a penis anymore to aim! But you can sorta squeeze your legs to force it in a certain way...
PS: Please don't use algospeak here. You can say “sex”, not “seggs”.

Personally peeing was a weird experience the first few times after surgery but it quickly became the norm. I feel like it is far easier and more comfortable to do now (no need to aim and it's so affirming), but on the other hand it is way more important to find a clean toilet...

Before it was a case of you’d get the urge, sit down, push and release and then you would wait a few seconds for it to travel before coming out.
Now, you get the urge, sit down, push and release and bang… instantly peeing.
There’s no wait time, as you get rid of the 5.5” of urethra that used to be there.
On top of that, it sounds very different. As the opening before was thin and slit shaped, and now it’s more rounded, which allows for greater turbidity. I once saw a bloke compare the sounds of men and women peeing, and described women peeing as “a racehorse pissing on a tin roof’, which whilst dramatic… I can see what he meant 🤣. Just one of the things you never really think about.
As for other things, like sitting down with no option to stand. I hadn’t stood to pee in years, so I can’t even remember what that was like. And I used to wipe beforehand anyway, so if anything that’s quicker and easier now.
Overall, fixing that birth defect was the best thing I ever did in my life. I am only 5 months into recovery, but already I can’t really remember what it felt like beforehand, as this feels so perfectly natural. For me, it feels more like the surgery fixed a problem, than changed something. Like putting a prolapsed bit back where it should be. And I never had to mentally adjust to the change for a single millisecond. It clicked instantly, from the first time I saw it on day 5 of recovery.
People comment on how much happier and confident I seem. And I never have to worry about tucking or things slipping again in my life. Or getting another massive hematoma from sitting on my bits for 8 hours a day.
Recovery on the other hand, was fucking brutal. I did it on my own with no support. Unable to leave the house for a fortnight, signed off work for three months. Clots, wound separation, etc. the physical side was a chore. The mental side was isolating and incredibly lonely. Was very happy when I got to be able to step dilation down to 2x a day.
But I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Wish I’d been able to do it years ago.

I'm not sure I've noticed much of a change in frequency, maybe it takes slightly longer to pat myself dry afterwards.
Sensation is a bit different but I don't think it's massively different, feels like there's less pressure if I had to describe it!
It's not really possible to aim.

Tbh? It felt less of an obligation like before, and felt more "expected". Like my brain stopped throwing out error codes and my body just used it as if it was always meant to be.
Technical wise:
- frequency is a bit more often now due to my slightly weakened muscles
- there was no pain, both with or without catheter. Removal of catheter was also painless.
- it does go everywhere but i got one of them handy toilet showers so it's basically just a bidet that you can move around. (Remember, front to back, never back to front post op! !)

The sensations almost identical ,maybe slight shortness sensation on the release to it coming out ,the. Pipe is shorter now . It's definitely messier it can jet out, dribble out or spray everywhere seemingly at its own will.
Toilet paper is running out quicker and usually ends up stuck to you . As to holding water usually it's about the same as before but when you have to "go" go I wouldn't wait to long as it can just leak especially if I have a mild UTI (never had a bad one yet) which I seem to be prone to no matter how clean I keep her .

It feels exactly the same. Immediately after removing the catheter it stung a little but after a few times I got used to it.
I have to go around the same frequency I did before, and the only real difference is you’ll go through a lot more toilet paper than before.

It was a bit difficult to pee right after the catheter was removed. I suspect it was because the bladder muscles were weakened from surgery and having a catheter in for a week after. They recovered pretty quickly though.
The first time peeing after having the catheter removed was quite the experience. Like others have said once you feel the flow start it’s almost immediately leaving your body. That along with the messiness was affirming and surprising at the same time. My spouse had to help me to the bathroom since I was still quite sore and weak and when it started I think I said something like “I’m peeing (their name)! I’m peeing!!😂.
Other than that, not having to worry about touching the front of the bowl when you sit down is very nice. Especially in public restrooms!

It feels normal. I sit, there's a cohesive stream but I can't really aim it easily, and that's it. Squatting in the woods takes practice to get the angle right so you don't get yellow socks.
The most annoying part is, you know that type of single-ply toilet paper they use in public restrooms that seems designed to discourage wiping? That stuff dissolves and you get little tiny shreds of TP stick to your labia if you aren't careful (or if you haven't shaved). I've heard it called "confetti", and it's not a big deal but come on.

The "need to pee" sensation happens in the clit and there's a kind of bladder pressure behind it as well. I've talked with my cis wife about this and she says she experiences it similarly. The clit is created from the head of the penis, so it's sensitive and there's a lot of shared sensation. Early on it was confusing because it was still "penis feelings" for a bit, but after the nerves recontextualize it becomes its own thing.
It can definitely be more messy. Especially as it's healing, since everything is inflamed and getting in the way. Toilet paper is a must. Sometimes I get a nice, uninterrupted stream and no mess and feel amazing for doing it. This, too, is the cis experience.
I do feel like it is easier to get it going. Shorter urethra and all that. It can be a little confusing at first, though, because when you have a penis the piss flows through the place where the "need to pee" sensation is, which causes relief. Now the piss does not flow through that location, but the feeling of satisfaction is still there.

Frequency and volume are just the same, as is the sensation of the urge to go, and the relief of peeing, the ability to hold it -- all that's exactly the same. What was different for me was the feeling of letting it go. Before, there was a long urethra after the sphincter, so I'd 'let go' and then there would be a short moment as the urethra filled before it would start to come out. As I recall, I could even do a quick "Ah! Abort!" in an emergency situation and stop things immediately after the moment of release, and that would work. Now, there's no space, so it comes out immediately and that was a really weird sensation the first few times.
Aside from that, it's definitely messier, and definitely requires a wipe or blot after.
