Happy Monday! I haven't seen your posts for the last several days. Don't know why.

Yesterday was our 46th anniversary! We didn't do much yesterday, but are planning a dinner out later in the week.

you haven't seen my posts the past week because i didn't post at all!

we were so desperate to get out of where we were that at one point i was literally walking 30 lbs of pots and pans in grocery bags one mile from old apt to new apt. my guy and i probably made at least 10 such walks and we got the rest out with the help of about seven different friends or relatives who offered their vehicle or arms

then we had to clean the old place

and now it's all done. except for the fee we have to pay for breaking the lease two months early. we were there almost a decade. what a kick in the teeth!

Ouch! Sorry you had to go through all that. Moving is never easy or pleasant. I'm so glad we've been in this house for 40 years. It's almost completely different, because we upgraded nearly everything, but it's the same address, lol.

We went to a suburb of Houston to pick up our goddaughter and take her to her grandparents' house here in town. This was sort of a road trip preview for me. I hadn't been in the car more than 15 minutes at a time since I broke my ankle last year. No trouble getting in and out of the truck, but my right foot swelled up some. I need to be in better shape before we hit the road for real.

That is me every time someone is coming over and I try to get the place all nice and tidy and declutterred, know I won’t be able to find anything for days, tell myself I really don’t have to do this, I don’t really need judgy humans in my life, but put myself through it anyway as my cats watch with facial expressions that reassure me that they know they are superior life forms who can leave their toys anywhere they like.
