Hi everyone, I’m having trouble deciding whether to accept this Masters offer or wait. So for context I have an Economics bachelors degree from a relatively good University in the UK (University of Nottingham) and initially wanted to break into finance so i did internships and picked modules with that in mind. However since graduating I felt my values didn’t align well with finance and banking so I’ve been swaying towards international development as it something i feel a lot more passionate about. I know having a masters open up a lot of doors so I decided to apply to a masters program at SOAS University of London because I really liked the modules they offer, the have a study tour program which seems really interesting and they also have a partnership with the world bank so there’s a possible opportunity to do a remote internship with the world banks after the program. Initially I was very keen on this program but since receiving my offer I’m having a few doubts. I know that your most recent degree matters more to employers so I’m worried that it will weaken my educational background in comparison to going to high ranking universities such as UCL, LSE or imperial. My grades could probably get me into those universities but they are insanely expensive (for the relevant degrees) so I cannot afford them, there are a few scholarships but my university grades aren’t exceptional so I don’t know if that is achievable + I’d have to wait until next year. I know SOAS is a respectable university and I’m grateful to have gotten the offer but I’m just a little unsure about future employability prospects. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What I’m trying to figure out:

**1.** For people already working in marketing, did finishing a degree actually change the roles you could get, or was it mostly a box to tick?
**2.** Is a general business degree better than a marketing-specific one, or the other way around, if the goal is to move into senior or management roles down the line?
**3.** Does the school matter much here, or is any accredited BC degree basically the same to employers once you already have years of experience?
**4.** Online and self-paced versus in-person evening classes: which held up better for you while working full time?

Anyone who was in a similar spot and is now happy with where they landed, I’d really like to hear what you picked and whether you’d choose it again. Thanks.

I'm considering this program but I don't have enough math or programming credits which a lot of the tracks require.

Recently completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from IOE, TU, with a first division (around 78%), and I’m thinking of pursuing a Master’s in Germany. If anyone has experience with this, I’d really appreciate some guidance.

No backlogs, completed the degree on time, and I’m currently working as an intern. I’ve been working for the past few months to gain some real-world experience before pursuing my Master’s.

I’m considering one of these fields:

• M.E./M.Sc. in Computer Engineering — although this degree doesn’t seem to be offered by many universities, so if you know of any good options, please let me know.
• M.Sc. in Computer Science
• M.Sc. in AI / Artificial Intelligence Engineering

These are the fields I’m primarily interested in.

If Germany isn’t the right choice for my background and goals, I’d also appreciate recommendations for other countries and/or universities that I should consider.

Hi everyone! I'm planning to apply for Master's programmes in Germany for the 2027 intake, and I'm trying to understand how much of a limitation my 180 ECTS Bachelor's degree will be.

My background is:

• BSc (Hons) Computer Science — First Class Honours
• University of Sunderland
• 360 UK credits = 180 ECTS
• IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall

My main academic interest is the intersection of Computer Science, AI and Health, so I'm looking at programmes such as:

• Medical Informatics
• Digital Health
• AI & Health Informatics

Some of the programmes I'm currently researching include FH Dortmund, HNU, TUM, Tübingen, Augsburg and TH Deggendorf. My concern is that some Master's programmes seem to require 210 ECTS, while others accept 180 ECTS or have some form of compensation/equivalence route. I don't have any formal medical/healthcare coursework.

My questions are:

1. Is 180 ECTS by itself a major disadvantage for Master's admission in Germany?
2. How strictly are subject-specific ECTS requirements enforced?
3. For someone with a CS background but no formal medicine coursework, which types of Medical Informatics / Digital Health programmes are realistic?
4. Are there people here who successfully entered a German Master's with a 180 ECTS Bachelor's from a UK university or UK-affiliated institution?

I'm mainly trying to understand how German universities actually assess this kind of qualification, so I can avoid wasting applications.

I would be grateful if anyone would provide me with examples of or information about assignments for Evaluation and Policy Analysis Master's degrees (eg. excerpts from past assignments). I am most interested in what the Policy degrees at University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan are like.

What should I pursue?- MBA or LLB?

I’m currently in 2nd year of my BA(Pol sci). I’m also preparing for UPSC(why😭). Looking at all the good things UPSC gives (before clearing it)- isolation, uncertainty, mental health issues, zero or hero thing. I don’t want to risk my career anymore.
I’m currently in a tier 99 city (my home town) bc my parents said “BA jaisi degree ke liye bahar kyun jana hai”. It’s not just about moving out but moving out plays a big role- I will have more opportunities, work, life.

I want to experience what great colleges of India feel like, how’s the experience. I’m confused between MBA (CAT) and LLM(CUET PG, NLSAT, etc). I have no clear idea about any of it. I’m ready to give in all my dedication for the exam. BUT what should I do, which one should I study for, what are the pros and cons of them?

I recently graduated from Politecnico di Torino with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and I'm planning to apply for Master's programs for the 2027/2028 academic year.

I'm currently trying to figure out which fields and universities would be the best fit for my background, and I'd really appreciate some advice.

My profile:

- BSc in Mechanical Engineering — Politecnico di Torino

- Final grade: 108/110

- Bachelor's degree taught entirely in English

- IELTS: 6.0/9.0, taken in February 2023

- No Master's degree yet

- Planning to apply for the 2027/28 intake

I'm mainly interested in:

- Energy Engineering / Energy Systems

- Renewable / Sustainable Energy

- Energy Management

- Engineering Management

- Industrial / Mechanical Engineering with an energy focus

However, I'm also open to other fields that would make sense for a Mechanical Engineering graduate.

My preferred destinations are Norway, other European countries with relatively affordable living costs, and Japan. I'm particularly interested in English-taught programs.

The main things I'm trying to figure out are:

1. How competitive is my academic profile for good European/Japanese Master's programs?

2. Which universities/programs would you recommend for my background?

3. Are there any particular countries in Europe that offer a good combination of tuition, cost of living, education quality and career opportunities?

5. Is there anything I should do during the next year to make my application stronger?

6. My IELTS is from February 2023, so I assume I'll need to retake it. Are there any other standardized tests or qualifications worth considering?

I'm primarily looking for programs that lead to industry careers, rather than programs aimed mainly at an academic/research career.
